It's been 14 long years until Wolfheart / Before the Dawn mastermind Tuomas Saukkonen returns with his hotly anticipated, sophomore solo-album under the flag of DAWN OF SOLACE. January 24th 2020 saw the Death and Gothic Doom Metal icon release his brand new album, Waves, on Noble Demon. Waves will be taking the listener on a dark trip of melodic doom soundscapes, this is an unchained and exciting affair feeding off of melancholy and progressive rock majesty - an unpredictable mixture soaring to glorious waves!

@Incognito Inc. It's the other way around. Dawn of Solace existed before BSA and due to poor label handling Tuomas started Black Sun Aeon while DoS lingered in purgatory. Then when he wanted to focus all his musical efforts into one band (Wolfheart) he officially retired Before the Dawn, Dawn of Solace, Black Sun Aeon and Routasielu. Glad to have Dawn of Solace back!

Mikko Heikkilä is the embodiment of (Finnish) melancholy. I'm very glad he is featured on this single along with so much improved DOS and nostalgic parallels to Dead Air back in the days. Can't believe 13 years has passed, but it feels like my arms can carry the weight of the world again. Wait for another wave!!!🤘🏼

@@SatanStoleMyDevilHorns , well, Mikko can go extreme (screaming on Metallijate's self - titled EP, for example), so it does not surprise.
And if there will be almost no extreme vocals..well, do not care, honesty - I just love Mikko's cleans.

@@SatanStoleMyDevilHorns , well, Wolfheart's last album was kinda questionable here and there (although, "Everlasting Fall" and "Valkyrie" songs are perfect) and a couple of other things he wrote during the active period of his career, but despite this, he already immortalised his name for local and international scene in the first decade of this century, so now he can do whatever he wants (and, well, he does).

Mikko´s voice is pure gold
I first heard about Tuomas with his band Before the Dawn and their music video for Deadsong. My buddies band were playing a show (I was their drum tech at the time) and between sets their music video came on and I was hooked instantly. I asked one of the other techs who the band were and they told me it was Before the Dawn. I stuck with him, checking out his other bands and with this masterpiece I'm so glad I asked who the band was playing on the monitor all those years ago, this is really something special. Tuomas is obviously a man of many talents as well.

My wife and I recently discovered this album and are pretty much obsessed with it 🤘 Myself, this song in particular.
This is one of the greatest songs i have ever listened. The lyrics is so beautifully written and expressionistic. The melody and the music is just perfect. The guitar solo is so good. Never aspected that i will find this kind of music through an add before 2 years and i still come back for this great song. Well done guys and you have a loyal fan from Macedonia.
