Wolfheart`s music embraces the sheer force and beauty of Finnish nature with fiery passion. The four piece from Lahti labeled its epic and harsh sound “Winter Metal“ which is indeed a thrilling score to nocturnal soul-searching in deep, snowy forests.
The fourth album Constellatin Of The Black Light proves to be uncompromising and dives headfirst into Black Metal, Nordic Death Metal, soaring melodies and complex arrangements as on the opener ‘Everlasting Fall‘ ¬- the start of a colossal journey that these Finns embark on with their typical melancholy. They have a knack for sparse piano parts (‘The Saw‘) and the guts to be dramatic (‘Defender‘). So Wolfheart succeeds in finding the right balance between Extreme Metal and a little Doom romance: a demanding work of art that is second to none.

One of the best, underrated metal bands I’ve heard in the past 5-6 years. I love the atmospheric, heavy, folksy melodic wall of sound they create. Love me some Wolfheart I just wish the U.S. would pick up on what’s going on with bands like this, Insomnium, Wintersun, etc.
I totally agree, Wolfheart is easily one of the best metal bands out there and Tuomas Saukkonen is becoming a legend. You also named two of my favourite bands (Insomnium and Wintersun) that truly deserve more recognition. I must add Dark Tranquility (though not Finnish) to that list too.

I've been listening to metal for 20 years and honestly I just have to say... this is one of the greatest metal songs of all time. I hope Wolfheart gets bigger, because they truly deserve it and more metalheads need to hear this genius. They have 4 masterpieces in their discography, but also after seeing them live recently I can say are one of the best live metal acts out there right now. Thank you Wolfheart
PClemente2120 There is no surprise that Wolfheart is such an awesome band, considering it’s members. You’ve got Tuomas and Joonas from Before the Dawn, Mika from Mors Subita and Lauri from Bloodred Hourglass. All of those are just simply amazing bands
You are right. This song is undoubtedly one of the best metal songs ever written and doubtless the most epic metal song ever released. I am a fanatic metal fan since my childhood, since 1986. I wish, they could have spend it the video clip it deserves, with a similar atmosphere as the Breakwater clip.
Id def ask for this at my funeral but everyone would get scared and run away lol.....well cant ask this as a wedding song either damn it
@@elmengh hell ya dude, some of these songs...only we metal heads can understand how beautiful and peaceful they are in all their chaos. Landscapes and beautiful melodic death in all its glory. I can think of no better departure from life as my sun sets. Funeral music as the end chapter of life to be celebrated...a reflection of the journey truly.
Them and many others. Wolfheart is up there with Insomnium as some of the industry titans. I wish more in the USA with me knew of the Finnish and Swedish metal scene. Masterpieces from overseas, I spread their work to as many I can.

Does anyone know what he's referencing with these lyrics? To me it's either a nuclear holocaust or comet strike. Tuomas is very smart. These are the only 2 kinds of light that could make day and night cease to exist and 2 types of cataclysmic destruction that could create a "Pyre" and end all life.
@@johnnyteres I was wondering about the fire and winter. You could be right because both of those could throw up so much waste and fallout into the atmosphere that the sun could be blocked out for months leading to long unseasonal winter.

Yes, a totally underrated band from Finnland. I bought all CDs and vinyls of WOLFHEART. It started roughly 15 years ago, when my youngest son recommeded me BEFORE THE DAWN (BTD), the former band of TUOMAS SAUKKONEN. I heard the songs, and I became addicted to the band and bought all albums. Amazing Melodic Death Metal with ear catching songs with a hookline. As far as I know, BTD released 6 full length albums. Also BLACK SUN AEON and DAWN OF SOLACE are band projects in a similar style, which I highly recommend.
There's just so many layers to their sound. It's incredible. Melodic, folk, death, black. There's an atmospheric ethereal sound, but has heavy punch. Thought provoking lyrics...these guys have got their shit together.

These songs don't feel half as long as they actually are. It felt like there was only a minute gone at one stage and because I adjusted my phone the time came up on screen and it was past the 4 minute mark. You get so captivated by the song that you lose track of time.

Masterpiece. As i didn't know wolfheart a few days ago, I would say this was pretty unexpected. the contrast with the background melody and the growls/heavy guitar is just perfect. The only thing that could be better : real violins on stage. Thanks.
