Hi Mat, thanks for looking at our shampoo range. Just to clarify, Pure Shampoo DOES NOT remove wax. We only mention Rapid Aqua Wax on the label as a suggested next step. We sell Rapid Aqua Wax and Pure Shampoo in a twin pack, so that is why the prompt to use that next is on there. Your UHD conclusions correct. We expect UHD shampoo customers to have a UHD (or other coatings) on their vehicle(s). You would normally want your wax or coating to do the beading for you and just use a shampoo to remove dirt from that layer than is inhibiting the wax or coating from beading/sheeting/self clearing. As such we did not add anything to the shampoo to make it sheet or bead. If you washed a waxed car, the original beading should come back to life, and it should with Pure too. At the time of writing this comment, all retail purchases from autoglym.com get a free trial sachet of UHD Shampoo too, so people can try it out nd see if they like it.
Unfortunately this is not my experience with Pure Shampoo. It might not remove wax but when I have used it, it certainly degrades the wax, knocking the height and tightness from the beads of water. Ihave been using Zymol Creme, Wax Planet waxes and Collinite 476S in my own test. Ultra HD shampoo DOES NOT remove or de-grade wax - important for winter - so I am using this shampoo at the moment and finding that there is no degradation of the Collinite 476S wax at all. It still beads like the first time it rained on the car.
I used the uhd shampoo for the first time last week. As being nearly twice the price of pure shampoo I had gave a miss. But this the best shampoo I used the lubricity of this shampoo is superb compared to others I tried. And it cleaned well and plenty of suds as you said which is a big thing for me . I think it worth the money. However if you are using a lot shampoo the pure shampoo and shampoo conditioner available in 5 ltr and at moment you can get 5ltr pure shampoo at moment for the same price as 1 ltr of the uhd shampoo
The slip and slide test was funny, you did well to leave it in. So, trying to put together my regular maintenance wash regime, I use Auto Finesse Citrus Power for the pre-wash and I finish with Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer spray for the body, Autoglym Fast Glass on the windows. Trying to decide on which shampoo to get, now I've finished the 5 ltr bottle of Jenny Chem, so far I'm stuck between Autoglym UHD and Auto Finesse Lather
Greetings! I found your video via the mysterious CZcams algorithms. I opted for the 'Polar Series'. This video is very informative as I am new to detailing. Thanks,
Hi Mat, I'm an Autoglym fan & user and have been for many years and loved your presentation and tests, I do around about 10 vehicles per week and have to admit the only product I do not use are the Autoglym shampoo's, but in the past I too found the Pure and the conditioner just like your tests revealed, got to also admit I've never used the UHD but for that price I would have to seek a sample given reviews I have seen.
As a Joe average guy who just likes driving a nice clean car I think Autoglym products are great, I’ve switched to the Snow range (Blast, wash and seal) it’s an excellent series of products.
Hi Matt, brilliant video, I enjoyed it and learnt alot, I favour shampoo conditioner always, a test suggestion, take that bonnet , put it in a bird avery for a day, bird poo on a car is every detailers thorn, then leave it dry, then rinse off, see what residue sticks about, maybe a bit senseless, but I think worth trying.. thanks again
Great video Mat , I've recently tried three of the Chemical Guys shampoos over my goto Gyeon bathe and was very underwhelmed with them , if you want a few samples of them to test your more than welcome as I doubt I'll be using them again.
Great video. I've used all three of these with mixed results but I suppose the real question I want to ask is would any of these be your regular go to shampoo?
What is best on top of a ceramic coating, such as autoglym life shine? Which one takes the rapid aqua wax the best(probably not the UHD)? Which one won’t wax up your wipers and need extra removing with fast glass? I plan to wax and seal my car with auto bead products(ceramic wax and normal sealant as a temporary measure), I guess wax on top from autoglym will still be fine. Great video thanks
If you get a chance could you do a video on the simoniz wash and wax. I tried it today and it was surprisingly nice and sudsy for £3 for 5 litres in Costco
Mat that was a good video mate. Maybe should have had the glass wet to how each shampoo reacted? Information is key with all these product's! This is another video that your not strapped for time too, are we seeing a change 🤣. Stay safe mate and keep up the great work! 🌈
@autoglymuk I've recently bought another car and decided to start washing again, I found some old unopened shampoos, at say at least five years old, the smell is a bit chemicallly smelling but seemed to wash the car well, i will be buying a ew one ti compare, will it still be ok to use in your opinion, or anyone else on here?
Give it a good shake and try in a small area first. I guess as long as you follow the instructions, you should be fine... I've used 10+ year old products before with no issues (your experience may vary).
Noticed the stjarnagloss bottles on the shelf. Have you used these yet? I fancied giving them a try but there seems to be an abundance of new companies recently. Was just wondering your opinion on them?
Cool.... Yes, IIRC, I used to pour tons of the BSC into a bucket when I was 17/18 just because I never saw suds. If only I read the label back then I'd have realised there wasn't really meant to be any. The UHD is definately worth a try
Hi I was wondering if you could help me I’ve got a wax pad which is the best way to clean them if it’s a thing? It’s an auto Glenn HD box with the applications in? Which is the best way to clean the pad?
@@TheDetailingSpace will do, i have tried most on the market now after being in the game 22 years like you. Gyeon bathe gets good reviews, im not a fan. My favs probably wax planet lava or adams shampoo
Not very informative or scientific, no mention of water type or hardness used. No mentions of cleaning ability or test for this. No mention of using your own dosing to suit the dirt. No mention of what soap actually is and what you want it to do. Why talk about beading for shampoo!!!
For the average user, most of that info wouldn't be relevant. Maybe I could have mentioned water hardness, but then that only applies to me. The viewers will have different levels. As for cleaning ability, how would you scientifically measure, test and observe this? As for beading, some people want a wash & wax type shampoo, or a shampoo that leaves nothing behind.
TBH, testing shampoos was always going to be a difficult one. Waxes etc is somewhat a little easier as you can measure gloss with a gloss-meter, you can visually see beading/sheeting etc. But as mentioned above, shampoos is harder to test and is pretty much matter of opinion.
With respect I disagree regarding your claim that the video was not informative. Mat clearly demonstrates the differences between each of the shampoos. The analysis is pitched at just the right level for detailing enthusiasts. I'm not saying a scientific inclusive video would be wrong, but for the guys this video goes out to, its not necessary,

Thanks to AutoGlym for clarifying that about Pure Shampoo 👍

Auto Glen you are a liar! Why did you not talk about shampoo conditioner, do you not like it?
???
The beauty of the Pure Shampoo is the fact your wipers don’t smear the windscreen after a wash. No wax left behind.
Good point 👍
Thanks, the comment I was looking for
Saves using extra fast glass
Been using the pure shampoo, I find it encourages a lot of surface rust on the discs, other that that impressed with it
I have to say, although the slickness and foaming action is lacking on the bodywork shampoo conditioner, the optical enhancers are incredible!
👍

Do like to use different shampoos but one I tried recently from splash and found that to be really good I was quite surprised
Thanks for sharing!!
I'd just like to point out that I made this exact video last year 😁
And better 🤔
haha... I honestly hadn't realised until I was editing!
hhhmmmm...... But mine is more understandable and in English too 🤣
Matts is a better explained video he has a way more professional approach and know how on detailing
Haha, thank you 👍

👍
I use the UHD on the body and Pure to clean my alloys (coated with 845)
Nice. I can see why you'd use Pure on the wheels - especially if they're well protected and maintained.

Same for me always ultra hd
👌👍
man I've not used the bodywork shampoo for a decade, I want to get all nostalgic and buy some to use for old times sake 😁
Do it, get some Fast Glass, SRP and EGP whilst you're at it 😁
Haven't used this brand yet and was interested which would best suit me? The comparisons of suds and how they rinse off sold it for me!
Great video!💯👍

Thanks for the offer 👍
You may as well use washing up liquid
Pure says it does not strip waxes
👍
Great i always wondered which is the best one
Hope this answers it for you 👍
Top vid, should do more like this good to see the comparisons👍
Thanks, will do!
Great video. I've used all three of these with mixed results but I suppose the real question I want to ask is would any of these be your regular go to shampoo?
For many years (when I first got into car care) it was the green Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner... The UHD is alps a very good shout

I use chemical guys mr pink really good shampoo my car is black and it drying off is so easy
Nice. CG seem to have a lot of products in the same categories. Maybe I should test some of theirs out.

Haha, it's the detailing videos I'm usually pushing on time. Especially spring/autumn when the sun starts setting earlier
Dont forget the 2 polar snow foam shampoos
Don’t bother the polar range is shite
I didn't include them as I was testing the 3 main, "traditional", shampoos rather than the ones through a foam lance
Nick, I personally like the polar range. I don’t use the polar seal just the blast and wash. Great in the winter as you require minimal contact wash.
@@anuppatel624 i have not used them i just use the green shampoo and conditioner i might try uhd shampoo when i need some more
@@TheDetailingSpace ok i understand that

Can you use HD shampoo along with the polar Seal range? There’s so many products on the market now.
Can't see why not. Or do you mean through a lance?
Absolutely great advice thank you
No problem, glad you found it useful 👍

Yes, done a few videos on them. Most recent was the nova, hence the reason they're still on the shelf
Must not have been keeping up ha. Will give it a watch.
🤣 Haha, cheers 👍
9:40 wringed it out? Wrung it out you mean!
Haha.... Sorry
Hi Mat,great video on these shampoos,I've used the bodywork conditioner(green one),I didn't think much of it,I ain't tried the other two yet.
Cool.... Yes, IIRC, I used to pour tons of the BSC into a bucket when I was 17/18 just because I never saw suds. If only I read the label back then I'd have realised there wasn't really meant to be any.

Rinse out in a bucket of clean water, Luke warm and a bit of soap
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
you supposed to equally used equal amounts..silly is it not
Bodywork conditioner one is shite, truly the worst shampoo i have used
You should give the UHD a try 👍
