    You need a powered door at the end of the underwater tunnel to keep the water out. You had it fully open at the end, so the game made the water rush in.

    For the gyro, maybe put some markers of some sort on the land in front of each garage door, to use to get lined up with the doors before diving the gyro into he water. Also, if you figured out how far from the shore you could safely build, if you build sort of a runway, on the bottom of the lake, that goes directly to each garage door, it could help you locate, and line up with, the garage door before you get to the base building.
    As for a tunnel to drive out of your base, wouldn’t it be easier to build it under the lake bed? You could ramp downwards at your base to enter the tunnel, have the tunnel go to some point past the shore and than ramp upwards to the surface? Although wouldn’t this, or even the tunnel you actually tried building allow zombies to spawn and/or detect the underwater base?
    Also, you succeeded, it was the game that failed, it just couldn’t deal with your greatness! 😁

    Just a suggestion. Maybe you can glide down into the base with a gyro. It sinks as long as it is not powered.

    The tunnel probably would have worked but you can't leave an end open to the water. Would need either a garage door to block the water off or have it end outside the water.

    Josh. What if you were to build your underwater base under the lakebed? Hollow out the ground under the water so to speak. Leave a layer of soil as your roof. Since you would actually be removing dirt and not water, maybe the wonky water physics wouldn't come into play and you'd get better frame rates. I hope you can make this work because "I WANT A UNDERWATER BASE MOMMY! AND I WANT IT NOW!

    An underwater base. Cool haha. I had built a couple lake houses. I built a walk way that connects to the main base, and I built a driveway that has an automatic bridge to keep vehicles and the path connects to a different side of the base.
    I had ran into a small problem of some of the water was missing near the front gate. I could walk below the water and there was just a wall of water and you could walk in and swim out. So I thought, maybe there is a way to create an underwater base. I haven't really tried, but I knew water goes through the wood frames that I tried.

    Just wondering..... could you tunnel under the lake far enough to make an underground/underwater base that prevents horde night spawns?

    • @mementhememe
      @mementhememe Před rokem

      You can already do this on the surface level of the water, provided that your base is the correct size. I think the default spawn distance from the player is 20 blocks on horde night, so if you just make a base with a radius less than 20 you can stand in the middle and afk all night. I usually make my bases about 25x25 with multiple floors so that i can walk around it instead of having to afk in the middle to block spawns. If you really want an underwwater/underground base, just make sure you are 30 or so blocks out from the edge of the water and you should be fine. Keep in mind that wandering hordes will be forced to spawn in the water if your base has too many torches or forges running.

    Besides you could use the fact that when you get out it gets dropped down.
    Put a garage door above, just fly on it standing still and get out of the gyro, it goes straight down in the base and you get down in water too near the base entrance.
    Maybe i'll make some vids about this kind of bases.

  • @captain_loeffel
    @captain_loeffel Před rokem

    Two tips for building perhaps.
    First, instead of building a block with a door to get air, just dig three block into the ground and then dig to the side. Now you have created an air bubble, which you can make as big as you want, because you are not in the water, you are underground and the normal underground physics are working.
    That leads to second, don't build your "tunnel" on the ground, build a real tunnel underground.
    You can still open up the base with windows to the top, but this time you just put them at ground level. So if you remove one block of the ground or even build your base top above sea ground, you can afterwards extend your base down into the ground and have still an "open" top without the problems of removing all the water. For sure, if you make a hole into your roof...
    So what about making your base out of an underwater hill? 😉

  • @andrehashimoto8056
    @andrehashimoto8056 Před 2 lety

    One good way to make this base work is... make an airlock room system, put two rooms to act as the airlock, each with a storage unit with blocks to "remove" the water before moving to the next, make it two so as to act as redudancy safety (if you need to get inside base ASAP to get some urgent item (medicine or food), you have two rooms acting as blockades to avoid having water get inside)

    • @andrehashimoto8056
      @andrehashimoto8056 Před 2 lety

      also, the best way to make a "functional, but still stylish base undewater"... is make so EVERY room uses a door between each other, as an Undewater base is ALWAYS under the risks of having some room, corridor or connection passage breach and cause water to enter (even if 7d2 physics won't), so having a base built with that in mind makes for a very cool but functional base

      7D2D is a SANDBOX style zombie survival game.... devs going against one of the CORE and most essential parts of gameplay of their IP is basically red flag, and both players an CCs should jump ship to another game as this is NOT a good sign about the developers

    You would be in a bunker that just happens to be underwater and very very hidden
    And as a bonus you avoid lag because your underground not underwater, your just using water to hide the entrance

    So that failed no the fact that you didn't add another garage door at the end of the Ramps to stop the water from flowing in so you would just had a big air pocket and it was trying to calculate the fact that the water on the surface was flowing in through the tunnel that you had made and filled with Air instead of water so the water from the surface was going down and flowing it through the tunnel which was causing you the issue there

    👋 I was wondering, since you love to paint your bases, is paint accessible on Xbox version? I haven’t been able to find a paint brush or paint in any of the menus. 🙏

    what this game needs is a water update that makes underwater bases viable and not such a hassle

    the oil rig is a good idea, but make your base exactly a 59s swim from your oil rig.

      @@M_Messer I want a Raft. something where can make a House boat on it. Could be a placeable object crafting recipe just like everything else. like how you can fit a entire car, Gyro, motorcycle and bike in your pocket.

      Yeah, the more water on the surface that gets displaced the WORSE the frame rates get when you load that chunk up....some of the POIs in the Compopack that involve water...like the pirate ship park....when they start getting holes in the water....you can't deal with it...you either try and reset the water somehow...or get rid of it entirely.

    Tunnel to bed rock, over to town and up into a random house. No one would ever see your ninja entrance or ever see where you live.
