JS3 Sailplane on 1000k Record flight (raw)

Subject to homologation, this flight on July 9th 2024 may stand as a new world record for speed on 1000K triangle for 15 meter class sailplanes. The flight was made from Ely Nevada. This snippet was recorded during peak soaring conditions around 1450 in the afternoon.

Is sailplane like gliderplane?

In the US, sailplanes are called gliders by the FAA, and by many individuals. Pilots around the world who fly these aircraft speak different languages. In Germany, a sailplane is called a Segelflugzeug.
