Bethesda just put out a video teasing their upcoming Update 4 patch. It’s flipping yuge and we’ve got all the details like how Starfield 60 fps mode is finally a thing for VRR users. In the developer interview just posted by Bethesda a large number of details were given for Update 4 and beyond. They are:
More utility and detail in surface maps
Can see shops and stores in the scanner
Change all game options like enemy damage, carry weight limits, etc.
Ship customization updates, decorate inside of ships with “decorate mode”
Empty habs for decorating mode in ships
Trait respeccing coming for new game+
Xbox Series X- 40 fps VRR and 60 modes
Turn off camera zoom in on conversations
More tabs in UI for container and barter menus
Land vehicle being worked on for the future
Creation kit in beta sent out to verified creators
Available on Steam beta today, all platforms later this month - Hry
In other news dreamcast guy refused to put a big NUMBER on stella blade because he thought the game was strictly average and did not want to upset hes sony fan base

His achievements for Starfield is 40 points, he did the first mission and that was it. Even though he claimed he completed the game. You can see it on his end of year review video. And from that same video, he barely plays any of the games he reviews, he takes reviews from others and makes his own from what they have said. The guy is a massive bullshitter who accidentally exposed himself.

Yep they relied too much on the ai generated ‘hundred’ planet bs, which only gave us a bunch of empty wastelands with nothing interesting to do.
Should have gone Mass Effect Route and giving us a handful or curated worlds to explore

@@natemekis3959 Nah, it doesn’t change the fact that a majority of these worlds are empty maps with nothing interesting to explore. The vehicle being added just going to make it easier to skip on a lot of walking when heading to quest sites

I don't know why anyone was expecting Fallout or Skyrim with the 1000 planet concept they went with. The download file would've been 2TB. I got over 200 hrs in this game, and it's NOWHERE aa bad as the potato heads will have you believe
It’s a decent game, but I think people expected far too much from Starfield. Thing is, Bethesda games are often broken messes at launch. In all honesty Starfield is alright, but it not a system seller or wow exclusive game that makes you want to buy an Xbox.
@@nickxcore74 who cares if it's a system seller? all the PS exclusive games released in the last 365 days aren't either. the fact that SF is more successful than bangers like SM2, Rebirth, Ronin, or Stellar Blade, which are terrific games, says a lot.
I tried it on gamepass and it was very disappointing. It’s hard to play the game when it either A. Forces you to sit in multiple loading screens or B. Useless character talks useless dialogue just for them to send you ti a outpost to grab something, which is 90% of the quest design for most Bethesda games.

A game like starfield lacks only 1 thing : FULL MODDING TOOLS
with some great modding tools, modders could:
- create 1000s... or even 10s of thousands of new planets. Shit, why not 100s of thousands of handmade planets !
- could populate those planets with maps several hundreds of square miles big, with entire cities filled with quests to do, things to find, like ultra rare gun blueprints , new alloys and materials to invent or mine, etc etc etc
- could create and import tons of new assets, 3d models, enemies, etc
- could add tons of new content to the existing planets
- could create thousands of new quests and objectives
- could create new guns, new vehicles
- could add base building features, where gamers could find a random planet, find a new material, send miners, send scientists to make new researches, improve or skills, etc, send soldiers to protect those mines, build new guns
- tens of thousands of passionate modders could add tons of things to the game, and turn a 7.5/8 out of 10 game into a 11/10 masterpiece, that all the people who love the kinds of games would be playing, until starfield 2 come out, in 2035 !
Yes, Starfield is the exact type of game that would massively benefit from the modding scene.

We need to understand that Starfield a new ip. But i understand some people hate Starfield we don't need to like the same content. Starfield is huge and a complex game, where everything you do will be as you left the planets you been on. Hard to tweak stuff and add stuff not to brake the game

It really seems like the people that hate a game the most are people that never played it, but their favourite CZcams guy said something negative about it, so they take that little nugget of criticism, and multiply it by several orders of magnitude, then shout it from the rooftops in every comment section on the internet. There are bad games for sure, but no game (for me) has ever been as bad as people said it was.
Quality ongoing updates and improvements are always good - the game wasn’t horrible just really mid and kinda boring. It’s just important that developers understand that sure you can release games with this whole “patch it later” mindset but they risk losing the interest in the game altogether. I would have loved that this game had actual interstellar/planetary traversal and an online multiplayer option that I could raid others …like a space pirate.

Everything they’re adding goes against what they said when the game comes out like higher frames vehicles maps and so on.
This is another reason why I have decided not to jump into huge open world rpgs day 1. 3 months minimum when major issues should of been addressed.

I feel about the same about Starfield as you. I call it feature creep the game. There's so much going on but the core experience, the part that Bethesda is so good at, is lacking. That said, replaying some Fallout has got me looking forward to jumping back in fresh for this update.

You’re right about it being a 7/10. It’s decent with a lot of annoying stuff, including the main gimmick of the new game plus. My biggest issue is that it put me off from trying Skyrim, Oblivion, and the like.
If the update takes out or adds then opinion to not have pronans when you create your character then i can finally play the game but if it doesn't then i won't be able to play it

definitely not wrong. lol no matter what starshit does or adds it will never really be good. I got it for free when I build my AMD PC and tbh I put about an hour into it and thankfully it looks and runs better then my series x but I jsut couldn't get into it.

After watching the amazing Fallout season one, i redownloaded Starfield (i had only played around 10 hours) and it actually gets decent after the slow burned intro. The writing is horrendous though.. But Only in Starfield can you sell illegal drugs on a faraway planet named Neon and party for a month straight in a dj lounge on another planet. I like the gameplay but exploration is kinda lackluster. This game is better then what most of the reviewers said it was. I think the expectations were too high on this title, like most new games these days.
I'll wait until they add that car first.
And when you get the car where will it take you exactly ? a repeated location probably or an empty cave
If you focus on the campaign and sidequests without getting lost, it will be less torture.

Star Citizen is where its at for space games.
Changing your face was already in the game. They are just adding it to the Unity every time you cycle through it (new game+) not an interesting addition in my opinion.

All these things should of been in the game at launch, its clear it needed to be delayed again, but you know modern gaming. Release a game half finished then fix and add basic features months later.
Looks like fun. I can never tell if these updates will run on Game Pass. I like the game enough as it is so why not purchase it. I do own Fallout 4 and it is a blast to play with a better sheen as well as a good number of extra quests

I'm not sure that even this is enough to get me to go back to Starfield given what I have to play now. I played like 10 hours of it and got bored. I just didn't feel what I felt with Fallout 3 (Fallout 4 was meh) and Skyrim. The disconnected nature of these mostly empty planets, while more realistic, isn't fun to me. It was also a bad idea to play a goodie goodie character first where I tried to RP and didn't go for any stealing or killing unless I had to.
I’m excited about Starfield this one of the games that got me back into gaming
Day 3 of asking him to cover the Stellar Blade censorship drama and how people are canceling their PS+ subscriptions until Sony reverses the changes to it. I know he won’t do it cuz it’s bad news for Sony which he can’t have cuz he kisses the ground they walk on. Also him talking of a PS5 port of Starfield just shows his bias even though they confirmed that neither this game or Fallout 5 or Elder Scrolls 6 would be coming to PS5 at all shows his copium for how he wants these to be on PS5 even though it won’t affect him since he has a Series X for upcoming these games.

These changes are nice, but not enough to get me back. To steal a term I've heard, I hate the "fish bowl" nature of Starfield. It isn't what I wanted from Bethesda. I don't know that this game can be fixed. Bethesda created a game that was sold as an exploration game to appeal to the fans...."Fallout in Space". The reality is, it is not possible, due to space being empty. Attempting to create "Fallout in space" is an unfixable problem.
Give it 3 years this game will turn a 360 and be very popular

Maybe it won't be trash in 2-3 years, but it won't be Bethesda who will make these changes. I haven't had any performance issues since launch and I don't care about FPS. There is nothing to do in this game and even if you have 30000 FPS it won't change
i think the basics of the game are fine. they also can relatively easy fix it. populate plantes with points of interest, rework the skill gain minigame, add vehicles. story was okay, some faction stuff was great and the ng+ is kinda genius. if they really make it aweseome non mans sky leads the way for what to do

There times I get why the 30fps. Example ff7 rebirth I play on graphic mode because I feel like performance mode is looks like it played at 900p or some super low resolution texture. They tell you yeah 60fps this and the games looks like shit. Am sure starfield would look trash in performance mode unless you have pc

Can I take parts off one ship and put them on a different ship? They're universal parts, they fit all ships. But no I have to sell it then go to the other ship buy it again. That makes sense lol. Modders and other developers from other studios say the game can't be fixed.
So any changes we get most likely will be cosmetic and won't make any substantial improvements.

Problem for xbox is nobody will pay 70 bucks for it anymore. These updates are great but people will only play it through gamepass or try it during a sale. It will still be a financial failure for the publisher.
People act like the game is irredeemable, which is incredibly short-sighted, since there's a solid foundation to build upon. Much of the criticism originated from embittered Sony fans. I can assure you that if a PlayStation port was announced in the upcoming Xbox event in June, they would quickly change their tune
