She is a household name in Kenya; well known for her wit and humour. What many do not know is her background. Jacky Vike tells us of her upbringing in Guanga, a mtaa in Eastleigh in Nairobi. She fondly recalls her upbringing, family, schooling and tragedy in her youth and how her Mtaa molded her.

Bonjour de Genève 😅. Your story imenichekesha sana, it’s the way you tell it. We also ate walkie talkies aka mishogi in shags. Funeral? I was told by my aunt after my grandfather died eti, “Tukifika kwa gate anza wooi ukikimbia” Tulikuwa tunachapa tuu story on the way kutoka bus stop. Tulipofika gate, wacha arushe bag aanze Mbinda na wooi. I stood there not knowing what to do, picked up her kibeti and used another gate not to be noticed.
