Man, do I miss this. I use to fish Tims Ford a lot back in my younger days. Great fishing for crappie and smallmouth during the colder months.

Very nice video … I have fished Tim’s Ford for 35 years but never for crappie. I normally fish for Stripers and Hybrids. I have Livescope and crappie rods (use at Woods) so I may give it a try!
Those stripers and hybrids are definately line stretchers and fun to catch. I've said many times now that I'm not sure I could fish without Livescope . It's very addicting watching that screen and learning the fishes behavior. Thanks for watching.

Hey Gordon, when you are casting do you count the jig down? For ex. If the crappie are suspended at 10ft do you count the jig down to 10 seconds before you start your retrieve? I don’t have livescope (I only have side and down imaging) but I’ve heard that the jig usually falls one foot per second. I just started casting and shooting docks not too long ago so I’m trying to learn as much as I can about the technique. My only concern is the jig falling below the strike zone without me realizing it. I usually use 1/32 jig heads because of the slower fall.
Before I had livescope I would either count it down until I got a bite or slowly fish it back to the boat or at least through the dock or tree top. What I've have found since livescope is that the jigs fall quicker than I thought they did. I usually have 1/16 oz and a 1/32 oz jig at the start of the day. Then I go with whichever I get bit on the best. That could change throughout the day. Improvements in electronics sure have made pinpointing them a lot easier. Before Side imaging you just had to fish dock after dock or tree top until you ran into them. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for replying back. I noticed when dock shooting that I get most of my bites a few seconds after the jig hits the water. So I wasn’t sure if that meant the fish were high in the water column or if my jig was actually falling quicker than the one second per foot rule I was told. And I agree that is the great thing about side imaging. It helps me eliminate a lot of docks etc but unfortunately I can’t see the jig or fish in real time
Are you not able to record using active captain?
Not with Echomap series. I have the Active Captain app and can use some features but recording feature is not available with the Echomap.

@@paulcouch4792 The 106 is an Echomap series also. It's the same unit as the 102 which is what I have but with a little better mapping options.
Learn how to use that Livescope and you don’t have to put those bass rods away I’ll catch bass using Livescope year round. See a lot of bass fisherman get Livescope and hanging up the bass rods to fish for crappie 😂 when bass fishing is actually just as easy when you learn how to do it.
My buddy has had Livescope since it came out. We have fished for bass with it many times and fished and won many tournaments before and after Livescope. We both put our bass rods down during the fall season just for a break from the hustle and grind of bass fishing. It has NOTHING to do with not knowing how to use LIVESCOPE for bass fishing. We both have done this for years in the fall. It is our "fun" fishing time of the year when it's all just about seeing that line "jump" or feeling that "THUMP". @@GordonPettieFishing oh I understand not hating, I was actually one of the select few that got to see and use livescope before it was available to the general public, I've been with Garmin and currently on garmins team, I've just seen so many bass guys give up bass fishing to chase crappie and if they would just learn what bass do you can be very successful fishing bass with it. Anyways keep up the good work!
@@Joshua_Matthew_Fishin I am amazed EVERY time I use Livescope. I've said many times I could get caught up in just watching the screen and seeing the fish behavior. It's definately an amazing piece of technology. There are more fish (of all kinds) lurking below than I ever imagined before LIVESCOPE showed me that. I've also found when bass fishing that you can get caught up in trying to catch fish that are never gonna bite. But that's the beauty of FISHING. I appreciate your comments.
