They picked the perfect place to sing and record this. The acoustics make it sound like an entire choir is singing this song. I have loved this song since the first time I heard it as a child.

"dona nobis pacem" is a latin frase which means "grant us peace". What a most beautiful, simple and timeless prayer!
Thank you for sweetening my evening with your wonderful voices!

Weiter so!

  • @c.j.mitchellenterprises2235

Prayers Peace for our Ukrainian sister’s and brothers, from my family across the world in Frederick, Maryland, US - We have seen the bravery and heroic actions taken to defend and protect your beautiful country. We have, along with most of the known world, been standing for your national anthem, I fly your flag (in the US, it is customary to fly another friendly nation’s flag separately from our flag - I’m happy and grateful that I have the freedom to express my hope and many, many prayers that Putin will turn all troupes around- back to the hell from whence they came, and the Oligarchs should be forced to pay a wealth tax so high, that it puts them into a Russian low-financial class; the entire value of funds collected from the filthy, disgustingly wealthy oligarchs should be COMPLETELY overseen, and managed by the Ukrainian Government, by a special counsel appointed by your Brave President. These funds will never be adequate nor should any person view this as a form of recitations from Russia to Ukraine, for the war which was brought to you by putin (napoleon syndrome- is commonly used as a simple way of describing the very tiny and most assuredly NOT democratically nor legally elected current leader of russia). This war has had its most horrific impact: in your communities, homes, schools, streets- across your nation. The broader impact that pluton’s (putin’s) criminal war has had- globally - has been a lot of outrage against Putin from people like me, who has and shall always recognize the sovereignty of Ukraine. There have been significant global financial problems which have occurred as a DIRECT result of this illegal war of putin’s making. First - they must pay YOUR people. In the mean time, they divide up 100% of their oil resources - 10% automatically goes to Ukraine. The other 90% should be allocated fairly by the United Nations. Which you’ll be a member of, as well. Thereby having the same influence as all member states as to how, when and where the resources are allocated. I’m not cruel. And I have sympathy and empathy for the people of Russia, as they have to live a life of pretending to have freedom, state controlled news broadcasting. It is staggering that such a large, populated, strong- cultured group of people - the citizens of Russia- do not - or cannot find the necessary organization within their own communities to rise up, and demand change. russia claims lies by using the word “democratic” to describe their government. Perhaps the people of russia also need a helping hand- if the UN controlled all of their oil, in order for Russia to purchase rations for national use, they must pay with three forms of payment: (1) disarm each nuclear weapon held in Russia; controlled by Russia - irrespective of geo-location of weapon(s), and allow UN counsel to oversee entire process- which leads of to the actual first payment form: the UN will collect and safely handle repurposing all material possible to clean energy-or - de-weaponize the material, and take possession of 100% of it.
    2. Putin is fired. Your leaders can surely think creatively about his future moving forward. Perhaps that might make a hilarious reality TV program - produced proudly in Ukraine. Next the UN - will oversee the DEMOCRATIC election of a legal Russian President, with oversight by a newly elected- BY THE PEOPLE, parliament- which the UN will retain a level of oversight on for a very long time. russia can’t be allowed to remain sovereign in her current state of catastrophe. The UN, with lead senior Ukrainian advisors, will ensure a bright & peaceful future for those innocent in Russia. To hell with the war criminals.
    3. I have plenty of ideas, but it seems to me that maybe someone Ukraine would like to chime in. Dona Nobis Pacem.

      @olgaklochkova2801 Před rokem +1

I am so grateful for your strong position! it is reassuring to see people express their support in random places like comments to a Dona Nobis Pacem video))
Regarding your ideas about the future of Russia, I agree with the part about nuclear weapons. But here in Ukraine, we seem to think differently about its political future. We can never rest while this empire exists at our borders. It has been trying to invade us for hundreds of years, and it has enslaved tens of other nations of Siberia, Ural, Caucasus, etc.
For us, the best option would be to disintegrate it into 10-20 independent states and cut the terrorist Kremlin regime off oil and gas profits. But even that, however unrealistic that is, would not be enough.
The entire society should be disillusioned and educated about the history of their empire, its crimes and destructive way of existence. Elections won't help, however democratic and transparent they will be, if the people keep electing psychopaths.
In spring, some of us believed that Russians would protest against the war; in autumn, some of us believed Russians would protest against mass mobilization...but they just aren't like that.
The problem is not that they can't find an organization through which they could demand change. There is no demand for change.
In psychological terms, collective trauma and negative selection for any dissent have led to learned helplessness and the 'flight/freeze' response when in reality they should fight. At least that's my view of them--all they can do is invent euphemisms about the war and joke about it on social media so that they don't get caught by the government censoring body.
Who should take care of that disillusionment and education?--I don't know. The UN is powerless. Not just Russia but the entire security system has to change to make this empire disappear in the safest possible way.

      Hello Pamela,
      Thank you for your comment.
Since Latin is a dead language, we don't actually know exactly how people pronounced the c back then. From our choir experience, "ts" and "tsch" are possible, depending on taste, as long as everyone uses the same pronunciation.
