    This new analog type now makes it more comparable to every dive timer category watch on the market like seiko, citizen, etc that normally cost times more but offer less functions.
    This is the best value analog dive timer watch!

      Different category. You buy seiko, citizen, omega, rolex not for its functionality, but for its material quality, heritage, mechanical precision, accuracy, and long-term ownership. I like casio, but it doesn't matter how expensive and more functions a casio is, they'll never be comparable to luxury watch brands stated above.

    I love theses G shock videos, is G shock guy in the forces or ex forces? He definitely makes G shocks look awesome, his narrative is like a planned out military campaign, Makes you want to buy a G shock because of the cool things they can do even though most of us wouldn’t be doing half the adventures of G shock guy.

    I have this watch and I can say the following things:
    -This watch looks amazing and its quality is palpable, more so than any other G-shock i own including the rangerman 9400
    -The saphire glass on it looks amazing.
    - I own several watches and g-shocks and this one is the one i always wear. it looks expensive, it feels like quality. the lume is great !
    -It is the most unique looking g-shock of the series.
    -This watch does not replace the digital versions,. it was made to compete with the analog divers from other brands like the citizen and seiko diver watches.
    -The blue tooth on it is way more useful to the every day person than a depth meter. unless you dive for a living having the ability to set your time, alarms, world times and such on your phone is better for 99% of the people that will buy this watch. also having a blue tooth diving log can be more useful to a profesional diver.

      I only say this from experience, that a piece like this is ideal whilst abroad with family and fancy a cheeky dive with the hotel Padi team… Although not ideal - it might just keep u out of trouble!
      And to have modestly have been called a “Frogman” - it’s not an fair assumption that it would be included.

      This is a very old argument as a diver I use the dive computer as well as a watch as back up. diving computers can malfunction which can mean life or death.that’s where the watch can be the saving grace

    • @pablorivera376
      @pablorivera376 Před 2 lety +1

      @@austeoes2013 I agree with you 100%. I talked to a couple of diver instructors and they told me that they don't use PADI dive tables anymore but only dive computers. I really don't like that aproach. As a recreational diver I like to plan my dive before going into the water. I think a computer can help but to depend only on that is dangerous. So yes, I have my watch always with me.

    Struggling to see the gap in the market that this is intended to fill…
    I used to wear a dive computer and something called a depth timer which cost around £100 ie. about a third of the cost of a computer at that time.
    There’s really no argument for buying a watch as back-up when you can buy a more capable dive computer for less money. Just buy two dive computers.
    …and I’m a watch guy.

  • @skylerphoenix8880

    I don’t understand the hype for a watch that’s less capable than its predecessor.

    • @ROrneli
      @ROrneli Před 3 lety +4

      Because this is competing with serious diver watches like the rolex submariner, citizen divers and more, non of those watches have depth meters. some people prefer the analog look.
      Plus the diver timer and automatic diver log can be marginally more useful than to know how deep you are. also setting the time when flying to a different time zone is a breeze as it is setting two different world times.
      Anyhow the depth meter on the digital frogman goes to what... 50 meters? is this why people keep missing the digital one? is there another feature I do not know?

    • @ROrneli
      @ROrneli Před 3 lety +2

      plus this is not replacing the digital ones. if you like the digital ones they are still for sale.

    • @skylerphoenix8880
      @skylerphoenix8880 Před 3 lety +2

      @@ROrneli having been a commercial diver (working helmet surface supplied air diver vs professional scuba instructor), I can tell you many to most use G-shocks till they become full saturation divers, which then use Deep Sea Rolex’s - no submariners in use really in commercial diving. But the G-shocks the use are the cheaper ones - all about vis, water proofness, and ruggedness. They get mucked up bad. So you have a point on analog for those that prefer it. But for sport diving, I’d prefer my depth gauge on my watch for more ready-to-have-fun and break-surface. But after listening to you guys I can understand others would like the Bluetooth bookkeeping aid to dive logs. I’ve dove so much I don’t keep logs anymore for sport diving except key dives, especially memorable ones, or a log of a whole vacation or trip. I say that like a case for the depth gauge, but maybe it’s a case for the dive log that doesn’t require manual logging.

    • @ROrneli
      @ROrneli Před 3 lety +1

      @@skylerphoenix8880 thanks for your very thought out response and your expertise.
      If i dived more often I could see the auto log as a cool features since it keeps track of our down time, location and being big and an analog with lume should make it marginally easier to read than digital at great depths were the numbers are harder to read.
      some people do use the digitial frogs for quick dives. but a question for an experienced diver like you.. unless you are diving at night don't you already kind of know how deep you are ? i mean if you look up at the surface most experienced divers should know approximated depth and if you are diving deeper than being able to keep the surface at a glance then you are provably already exceeding the 50 meter depth limit of the digital frogman.
      anyhow cheers and thanks for your answer.

    • @skylerphoenix8880
      @skylerphoenix8880 Před 3 lety +3

      @@ROrneli regarding depth: when sport diving even commercial divers want three things - 1) not to get bent; Get bent once and you’ll always be more susceptible to it 2) maximize your range for the next dive by not busting your depth on the previous dive. 3) not having to end your fun dive early because you went deeper than u thought and your tank didn’t last. Not a great idea to eyeball it. But many sport divers use dive computers to ensure these. But others think that complicated things too much to be fun - it depends on what you think is fun and what kind of locations u find fun. Do u prefer deep drift Cozumel, shallow hot Florida Keys, Pieget Sound, high altitude Colorado, etc. if u use a dive computer then u just really want to know what time it is so you can meet the boat at the surface or know how long before lunch. If you’re a commercial diver, same thing - how long before my shift ends - topside personnel handle the rest. This discussion well informed me why folks would want the new frogman - probably I don’t because I don’t prefer to use a computer and I’m not a stickler for detailed dive logs. But others are and it makes it fun for them. Plus I like the high quality digital sapphire.
