- One of the top questions I get asked is 'can I use flowers in epoxy resin' and the answer is yes - as long as they're dried. In this video I show you how to use a selection of pressed dried flowers and leaves to create a variety of different objects including: pendants, earrings, a bookmark, a coaster or window hanging and a wooden tray.
The one thing to remember when using dried flowers in resin is that they will tend to try and float, so consideration should be given to this when planning your designs.
Update: I now know the bookmark flowers are called Ammi Majus and can be purchased from various sellers online such as this one at Ali Express www.aliexpress.com/item/32958...

Oh I love all these projects ! Proper adore the bookmark ! Those flowers were stunning 😍😍 love the layering on the coasters .. and cool idea to cut up the coaster set too never thought of that ... (if it's the same one I have) x thanks for the total inspiration ! Xx
Thank you 😊 Yes that was a triple cavity mould, which was a bit cumbersome until I cut it up! Everyone check out Claire's amazing resin halloween cake stand here: czcams.com/video/57vVm9trK0Q/video.html
@@resinAce so amazing 🙈🙈😍😍 thankyooooooo
@@resinAce for sure the same one I used for the ink dropping .. totally gonna cut mine up now lol
i cut mine up, and the pieces i cut off make perfect small non stick mats to place or fill bezels on and are perfect to set pendants on to top coat ..i’m all for findings a use for everything lol.
Loved them all, even that pesky ladybug that snuck in there. My favorite is the tray.
I really like the tray as well! So pretty
That bookmark!! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💗💜 You would make any kid the best arts & crafts parent!
I made a tray too!
I did it differently, I took the base out and did different patterns with resin, it turned out good, I wish I could show a picture, anyway awesome video!!
My favorite has to be that book mark. I do agree, it does look like fireworks. 💖
This video is closed captioned, please turn on your subtitles to view tutorial text.
This amazing!!!! Keep up with the the great vids!
How to turn on the subtitles please
Your work is amazing I'm thinking of making wind chime with decals inside of them that sounds good I don't know what the sound would be though. You do good work
@@chrispacquin9351 On a mobile device tap the video while it is playing and three dots will appear in the corner, tap the three dots to open the settings menu and you can turn on the captions from there. ♠
I speak spanish and italian and a little bit of english ,thanks for the subs ! helps a lot ! greetiengs from Argentina
I love them all, but my favorite is the clover pendant~

I liked that also, could also partially see through the clover, effect was interesting 👍
The bookmark and tray were my favorites. I love those firework flowers. Amazing.
Poor little lady bug. tee hee. I really love how the bookmark and the serving trays came out. So colorful and vibrant! Great work!
And the epic bubble massacre was the coolest! 😉
OMG‼😁❤💯👏🏽👏🏽 These are Grest Ideas Such Creativity Thank you for sharing my mind and ideas are on overload‼‼‼
I never knew you could do so much with resin outside of a silicone mold 😁😂👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽‼
They're all beautiful, but that tray is glorious! Thanks for sharing!
Yay! You're back! I think it's a best way to preserve favorite flowers! They're all beautiful!! 😘🌸🌼💐
Thank you 😊♠
I just love this channel, I save every video in my resin playlist, I don't know why it's not like they are going pop like the bubbles 😁
I love when you put so much into one video. Another epic compilation by resinAce! Thank you! So many creative ideas.
Thank you, I'm glad you appreciate it. There is at least 45 minutes of video sped up into this 13 minute compilation ♠
Those dried flowers are gorgeous! I had a heck of a time finding the “right” ones to use for keychains. Once I got them, they were so much smaller than I expected.
Btw, the outro was too funny! Lol
I'm really excited for this one. Thanks for your tutorials.
Thanks for watching! 😊♠
Wow, they look so amazing! I love it and can't wait to try it out for myself.
Beautiful work!!! My favorites are the bookmark and the wooden tray!
Wow! You never cease to amaze me. Beautiful as always. I absolutely LOVE the firework flower bookmark!
Thank you! 😊♠
Okay, okay, I’m truly inspired. I have a photo that means a lot to me, that I have wanted to use to create a pendant. Art is out of my comfort zone. You have made these projects look so easy ... I’m ready to take the leap. Thank You so much for sharing your beautiful work on CZcams!!!
Make copies before the project! Some photo inks don't react well to resin and will run.
Bre4416 thanks for the suggestion.
So pretty! Love watching your videos to relax and be in awe of the artistry and creativity. ❤
Thank you! 😊♠
Wowwwwwww love them all !! Beautiful ❤️❤️🇨🇦
Love that bookmark!! ❤️🧡💛💚💜 And your new channel is so brilliantly snarky, I can't get enough! 🤣 Cheers, mate!
You make some of the neatest stuff!!
Love the fern set
Love the bookmark! 😍
Totally amazing. Thank you for sharing your craft. Hugs from Halifax
I loved everything great job as always
Thanks for watching 😊♠
I love the bookmark!
These pieces are absolutely beautiful! Thank you ❤️😘💕💗🥰😍
Thank you 😊♠
I love your work. Really, really love the tray. The amount of time and detail in your pieces is awe inspiring. Who knew you were selling your pieces. Ever think of opening an Etsy store? I know I would most certainly be a consumer - and you could have custom ordered pieces - that would be simply sublime.
Those " firework" flowers are beautiful 😍
Always love your work resinAce. Really enjoyed the ferns. Like the bookmark. Really like the coaster. :) The tray is so beautiful.
Thank you 😊♠
Awesome work. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you.
Thank you! 😊♠

@@resinAce Thanks for the reply😀
When I first found this channel, I thought it was just another one of those mindless "quick and easy crafts!" kind of channel like TroomTroom. But I must say, I'm very happy that it isn't. These projects are always so creative and turn out very nice. Keep up the good work!
lol, thanks 😊♠
Ha, the biggest insult you can give to any genuine crafter - "Oh, just like Troom Troom/5 Minute Crafts". 😂
Loved all the projects. So very creative resinAce
Thanks for watching! 😊♠
Awesome!!!
😘 I liked it so much I loved it 💕
My favorite was the book mark!
If I ever form a pop-punk type band, I'm calling dibs on "Epic Bubble Massacre" as the name!
Dufob
this is very beautiful
That tray is beautiful ! Great job 👍👍❤️
Thanks you, even though some of the purple flowers turned yellow - gah! 😤♠
They are still beautiful ❤️
stunning
I love them
Next time try coating flowers with PVA glue , missed the bubbles dying sound effect 🤔🤗
Excellent!
Thank you 😊♠
Beautiful 🥰
Wow!
Glad to see you! Or rather, watch you! Withdrawals are gone, I'm good now, thank you!
I like all you projects. Now since the earrings were on the card, and the card said, hand made by resinAce, does this mean you are going to start, or are, selling your stuff?
Great video Ace, thank you! Pam
hah, glad you got your 'fix' 🤣 the card was just to display them, I do not yet sell anything. I did make a few faun kitten pendants to sell but I still need to work on packaging and presentation before I can sell them ♠
Ahhh, I am so good now! Thanks Ace!
When you do start selling I'm sure you are going to be inundated...that's a good thing tho, right?!
Looking forward to your next project and video! Thanks again Ace, Pam
Nice job as always
Thanks! 😊♠
@@resinAce I really wish I had a place because your projects remind me of my late mothers talent.
Thank you!
Awww, no screaming bubbles? xD
Think the coaster is my favourite, but the composition is lovely on all the pieces. And those fern earrings are awesome, I'd happily wear them 😍
Love to watch you work 💜. May I request a little something for Halloween. I bought a couple of moulds and some UV resin, will let you know if I end up burning down the house.
My Nan wondered who had pinched all her flower 😃. Some excellent ideas there for Christmas presents
I finally pressed some flowers and leaves during the summer for coasters. Maybe I'll get around to make them as Christmas gifts this year? I've only been planning on it for the past three years...
In all honesty, I started this video in July 🤣 It took me a long time to pull this one together. They will make nice gifts, handmade presents are always well received ♠
Nice work bro
Thank you 😊♠
Hey hey, what is that leaf in the top left corner of the tray, LOL? Sure looks like something I like! :-D Great job, again, ResinAce!
I thought I was the only one that caught that.
Good catch, i was too busy looking at the pretty coloured flowers.
Also I totally make the bubble death noise in my head 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks God I found your channel I love it. I have a question where you can buy that white mate you use to do the ferns jewelry
Hi, that is 3mm pvc foamex, which I buy from sellers on eBay ebay.us/hJMfdF
Ever thought of casting a diecast car body in resin and customizing it?
Craftsman!!
hi 1st time to watch your channel.I like all u make, I have 3pcs of 4 leaf clovers ,1pcs 5 leaf clover, I impress the way u make it😍i dont know how to make and how to preserve my 1 lucky 5 leaf clover, and 3pcs 4 leaf clover.please 🙏have a great day👍
Just wow! so creative I love them all.
firstly though, are they real flowers?
and secondly would you please pretty please sell me a bookmark??
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Thank you! 😊 Yes, they are all real flowers, though some of them look dyed. I'm afraid the bookmark was claimed by a friend super-fast! ♠
Did the bookmark mould have a built in hole so you didn't have to drill it?
Yes it did, I bought this one off eBay ebay.us/wsmcQ4
Podrías por favor enseñarnos a hacer un ajedrez en resina? Gracias 😃
I was going to get those ladybugs :P I didn't hear any bubbles screaming, so how do I know they are truly gone? lol All jokes aside, first you had me trying to do a chroma cube as my first project, now I'm going to be doing trays. I really do miss the ferns, and thistle from the Uk, we don't get them in my area, turned out really lovely!
I love your videos! A quick question though, why do you use a hand torch when you finish pouring?
Hi, a quick blast with a flame will pop any tiny bubbles that have risen to the surface ♠
Tú cuando pones el trébol primero dejar secar cuántas horas la resina para luego ponerlo encima?. Gracias
Hi, I love your channel!!! It’s very inspirational x where did you get the big pendant mould from that you used at then beginning of the video? Xx
Thanks 😊 That was an amazon find like this one amzn.to/2QMabtB
Thank you so much xx
Love it! Do you have a link for the black light you were using (which I'm assuming you used to cure UV adhesive?).
Never mind, found it all, TY!
Hola cómo estás oye disculpa el pigmento fotoluminiscente se puede teñir en algún color obvio que sea para resina
Hola, bendiciones, la flores naturales se pueden cortar y encapsular, o se deben deshidratar
Where did you find a proper bookmark mold? I have searched all over Amazon, Ebay and various stores and cant find a good level one. Awesome ideas!
I bought this one off eBay ebay.us/wsmcQ4 I found the quality is good enough for the price ♠
I liked to see but a question and how long to leave the mold with resin
Melbtube UV resin that is cured with a UV light is instant, regular resin takes 12 hours to cure
Wonderful video, as always! I wish my Alexa had a British accent :(
hehe, I wish mine sounded like the WOPR computer from wargames 🤣♠
First Goood morning 😘
Hi 😎
😘❤️
On the fern leaf earrings , how long between applications did you let the resin cure?
Hello, does the uv resin hold onto the epoxy resin in the long term ...?
Ace, is this the one with the four leaf Clover you mentioned a while back? (I might have posted this comment already, but I can't find it and I don't really remember.)
Hi, yes this is the one 😊♠
I have a couple of questions. 1. When you say let the resin firm before making a dome...how long would that be roughly? 2. I always thought you put your items in upside down in the molds (like the coaster mold), but you do it the opposite. Is there really no need to do it backwards? Thanks. I love watching your channel
Hi, it really depends on the resin, but with my art resin I don't have too wait too long - 10 minutes maybe. There is more than one way to achieve your end result. If you use the mold upside down you get a nice flat surface on the top but you still have to deal with that sharp raised edge that will then be on the bottom. I just find it easier to arrange the composition the right way up in the mold.
Hey Ace! Love your channel :) I have a question - is it possible to put flowers into resin if they have first been dried in silica gel? Will that still keep them looking fresh rather than dried and pressed?
I'm guessing it's not a good idea to put fresh flowers in resin?
Cheers!
Hi, thank you 😊 The main issue is to get rid of all the moisture in the flowers, so never use fresh flowers. Moisture will cause numerous problems: it can affect the cure of the resin, causing a white bloom on the surface. The moisture can vaporise as the resin heats up while it cures and cause it to crack. Fresh flowers can yellow pretty quickly in resin, and will eventually turn brown as they rot. It doesn't matter how you dry the flowers, just as long as you get that moisture out. ♠
Brilliant, thank you so much!
They 👏 are 👏 so 👏 BEAUTIFUL!! Do you sell these?
Thank you 😊 Regrettably I'm struggling to find enough time to make pieces to sell, but my tutorials should help anyone to make their own ♠
Ack, so confused... it's not Friday! 😂 I love all of them, but the cabochon and the bookmark were my favourites, I think. The coaster was gorgeous, especially the ladybird and having it in multiple layers for some depth... but yeah, that bookmark. 😍 I wonder what was in the flower and resin that caused the colour change... maybe it's a pH thing? Curious! Love them all, though, as always. Thanks for sharing (though I kind of miss the screaming bubbles now LOL).
Thank you, I'm so far behind with my upload schedule I'm just releasing them when they're ready now. I tend to use the bubble microphone over on my other channel 🤣♠
@@resinAce Yeah, I love the humour over there. 😁 Nobody likes a hater... but those bubbles, man... Pfft! And I certainly am not complaining if videos come out early instead of waiting for the next Friday.
I never turn the subtitles off.
Be careful who's watching over your shoulder if you view my other channel then 😉♠
Beautiful, and once in resin you have it preserved , for a long time,,,, by the way ,,,,,How Would You Cut the Sea,,?With A Sea Saw !!!!!
haha, you can write the jokes for my subtitles 🤣♠
@@resinAce I realy love the background music too please can you tell me what it's called? And how to get it, it sounds a t
Little bit similar to Jean Michel Jarr,,,
The one thing I've always wanted to get was a UV lamp and resin kit with the cabochon moulds, and dried flowers with a little glitter, bi would experiment using black pigment, with silver glitter, in the resin and a center flower, SPACE FLOWER!!! Ive often wondered how it would work out,, I would love to see you do something like that, buy using color pigments and glitter with dried flowers , and anything else that would work with it, I never got round to buying a resin kit ,but might be able to at a later time if poss, take care stay safe, stay cool stay awesome 🐯🐢👍🌹🍁🌷🐞
@@resinAce Just returning the fun with the jokes,,you give so much in your wonderful videos, I've subscribed a good while ago and still love watching your creations.
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
LMAO thank you for the use of ladybug instead of ladybird. LOL
beautiful. I have bookmark mould. will artificial flowers work - small ones ?
pls where is the link to dried pressed flower on aliexpress ?
Hi, here is the Ali link www.aliexpress.com/item/33005262830.html if the artificial flowers are made from paper then they are difficult to use in resin. If you search out my butterfly cube video I used a paper daisy, which I painted in acrylic paint first as the paper petals otherwise turned clear in the resin. If the flowers are foam they can be used as long as you can hold them in place, as they will float. They can also release tiny bubbles.
@@resinAce thank you for reply. This is good info.
👍👍👍😎
Beautiful - Do you dry the flowers you self
Some I dried myself, others were purchased in packs off ebay. To dry my own I just press them between sheets of paper under heavy books.
Oh, how elegant and romantic it is! 😲😍🌸🍀 And what kind of flowers did you use in your bookmark?🤔
Hi, thank you 😊 The flowers are available here: www.aliexpress.com/item/32958587280.html
ResinAce I need your help. I bought a two-part sphere mold and tried to make something. The problem I had was trying to get the bubbles out of the top part of the mold. The lighter would only get the bubbles out of the small hole on top and when I demolded it there were bubbles in the top half of the sphere. How do you do it?
I think the key there is to make sure your resin is as bubble-free as possible before you pour it into the mould. Another thing to try is to half fill the sphere, then put the end of the lighter over the hole and give it just one quick click. You don't need the flame to make contact with the resin, just burn up the oxygen inside the mould and that will break the surface tension of the resin and pop the bubbles. Then fill it a bit more and do it again, and so on. Don't let the bubbles defeat you! ♠
Did you dry your own flowers. If so how do you keep the colour so well.
I dried my own leaves but the flowers were purchased. Some of the flowers appeared to have been dyed, others were natural. I believe they need to be kept dark and air-tight to help avoid colour loss.
What will happen if we use fresh leaves and flowers....and also if we are using the dry one ,,for how many days we need to dry it
They will turn brown and rot. It can take weeks to fully dry leaves and flowers. Look up an article on flower pressing.
Would you ever be interested in telling us some of the things that you use to make your pieces. For instants the white paper I know it can’t be paper because it would stick what did you use that you were able to peel it off?? Another one that I would love to know is where you get your plastic that you cut up and make molds with I have tried using plastic from things around my house and inevitably it does not come off of the resin once it’s cured?? What is the plastic that you cut and make boxes with?
Hi, thanks for watching. Please remember that the tutorial text for my videos is in the closed captions, and I always reference my materials there. To view the captions on a touch screen device, simply press the 3 dots in the corner of the video whilst it is playing, and you can switch them on from there. The white sheet is 3mm PVC foamex and I buy mine from this link on eBay ebay.us/namhkt ♠
Do you buy your flowers already dried? I've tried drying flowers but they always turn brown
Que resina usas?
