  • Chioma Ajunwa won Nigeria's first ever Olympic gold in the long jump in 1996. She is also a police officer in Lagos, and she thinks more needs to be done to bring Olympic success to her country.

Sister Chioma you're 100% right. Look how many athletes and amazing talent Naija has lost to foreign countries. Our people go to represent other countries instead, I can't blame dem.

What I remember about this day was Chioma Ajunwa returning from a 4 year drug ban to win an Olympic Gold... interesting how somebody cheats then thinks that people would believe they would not cheat to be Olympic champion

it seems like you are insinuating that she cheated for it. nobody's achievements should ever be smeared just becos it can. There is absolutely no achievement that can't be cheapened. It hard to make your mark in this world. Respect those who have. She had a hard life and she has given back in ways she can.

She took a drug for a medical condition. The fault came from the Nigerian doctors who did not properly educate the athletes on what they could and could not take. Major General Adefope simply used the situation to score a PR stunt for himself. Several of the athletes that were hit in 1992 were Nigeria's best. Clement Chukwu (Clemencio) was a standout in his secondary school for those who knew him. If you are trying to insinuate she cheated, shame on you. American athletes are the known cheats who are always aided by the system to circumvent the tests.
