Such a perfect description of Mukulji's gayaki by Tiottamaji.
As I have said elsewhere, he is God's own child! ---incomparable, beyond our assessments & judgments--It is God's acknwoledgment & I accept it without my human comment.

Anyone wanting to know more about his musical prowess & artistry should listen in CZcams to his rendering of Kedar. In that I do believe he makes it possible to visualise Kedarnath himself. Such is the beauty of that piece. May he be protected from self destruction if only by the will of those that love him & his music.

He was trained under Gwalior gharana, yet his style is neither the Gwalior style nor that of his illustrious father. It is also difficult to close the the matter by saying that his style of singing is nothing else but the combination of the two. I find it fascinating, unbelievably musical, & believe that it evolved into a style entirely his own but perhaps without any concious effort of his own.

What an amazingly rendered "Alahiya Bilawal", which to me , the best amongst all known renditions ...
Mukul ji has an exclusively special, extraordinary touch of loving emotion, divinity, and thoroughly technical expression of any given Raga all together which cannot be compared with any other renditions not even with Kumar ji's.🙏🙏🙏
    Thanks for sharing , brother.
Can you please provide me with the lyrics of the "bara khayal"🙏
    Aum🙏

With due respect to Mukul Ji, I found Pt. Jasraj Ji's rendition of Alhaiya Bilawal better due to the flavour he created of the Raaga.

Yes , brother, I heard the one rendered by Pandit ji and truly divine, as always.
And I shouldn't have compared the legendary renditions...
However, for me , Mukul ji is thoroughly different from the rest...and my adoration is not for his extremely rare talents but to me each and every presentation of Mukul ji is divine-inspired...
And , here , every time when he "touches" the words "Jago Shambhoo", I could find something deeper...deep dive into the boundlessness and unending divine love of Mahakaaleshwar Mahadev.. ❤🙏
It's a very personal choice almost nothing to do with any technicalities .
Pandit Jashraj is equally respected legend. 🙏
      Aum🙏

@@tilottamachakrabarti7555 So refreshing to see counter arguments, rebuttals and refutations done in such civil manner! Perhaps only listeners, aficionados and connoisseurs of good art (music, the higher arts) have the depth and temperament to analyse and critique without hurting sentiments and sensibilities but communicating what they feel in unequivocal terms.
True, there is no comparison between greats as each is unique but if I May say so, I shall very humbly submit that some greats did actually succumb to the lure of lucre and populism and did some adjustments (and I am afraid some little compromises) for gain at the cost of their art in which they undoubtedly excelled. Many of the front ranking maestros did not remain unblemished.
Shri Mukul Shivputra because of his lack of understanding of the real world and due to his undisciplined and reckless ways was thankfully under no pressure to 'deliver' so hid renderings are pure and undiluted 'amrit' free of the gimmickry and frills. He just sang without a care in the world without feeling the burden to score a point. Just sang for his own pleasure (didn't much care about the audience) and maybe to please the Goddess Saraswati whose chosen son he definitely is. A pity that he did not get his act together when he was in his prime. Perhaps he is more musical than any of Kumarji's proteges though all of Kumarji's disciples - Madhup Mudgal, Vijay Sardeshmukh and Satyasheel Deshpande are extremely contemplative and cerebral and classy musicians and have originality and art in them but Shri Mukul ji is the REAL thing without doubt for those who understand and on his good day he connects with God when he sings.
Here I must mention for all it is worth that personally I have liked Shri Ulhas Kashalkar's Alhaiya Bilawal better than this. One reason maybe that the quality of Mukul ji's recordings are of poor quality. Look forward to more of his better recorded renderings.

With his unfortunate, uncontrolled drinking habit without a doubt marring to an extent his obvious musical genius, he might remind one to be a musical version of Paul Gaugin! But who knows? But he is blessed doubtless.
