As for the Falklands it was a forgone conclusion the logistics was a big problem but professional soldiers fighting conscripts (however brave) was only going to end one way. The people on the island voted overwhelmingly to stay British they were not enamoured by a failing Argentinian junta propped up by the Americans.

He’s got one that’s a 20 something min clip called “Nations” where he goes around a globe talking shit about everywhere & I lost it once he got to the US bc I live just outside of Chattanooga, Tennessee & I definitely didn’t expect him to mention it in his rant about how nowhere is better that Britain. Which is him playing a character btw. Even if he actually felt that way, he’s not near as arrogant about it as his stage persona but he’s still funny so all his insults, even those about us in this country, crack me right tf up.

It's important to understand Al Murray's whole act is based in irony. He is pretending to be an out spoken nationalist type of person but deliberately undermines his own points and often subtly compliments other nation, even when appearing to insult them. That doesn't mean we dont like you , its a sign we want you to be friends. In English comedy at the moment there are no comedians I know of making jokes about the Russians attempted war ..... they are doing a good enough job on their own !!! Humour is a shared bond and we dont always agree with US policy but we can see what the world would look like without your presence.

The difference being Americans are always way to nice in return and from what I’ve seen online and on talk shows they’re way harsher to Americans.

We Brits like to poke fun at everyone including ourselves, we call it banter and everyone is fair game, I give my friends a lot of stick and I take a lot back too, but it doesn't work with British women, they don't really have a sense of humour and can get easily offended so it's just a male trait. football in america is the most unrelated name to a sport going....im only messing....but when describing a peanut you'd never say ball shape would you? or if you were told to put ya hands up put ya feet in the air....if I'm wrong because thats exactly what you'd do then I'm cool with you guys call it football because it makes a little more sense...and realise saying soccer is just a quick way out of having to explain the human anatomy names like feet arms head shoulders knees and toes....and then moving on to complex subjects such as what a sphere is and why you can put a triangle shaped block through a square hole...so soccer is a fantastic loop hole. ha just playing...ive tried watching american football though and all it did was make me get a mcdonalds, take out life insurance, and make me feel assured ... that if i wasn't paranoid already about mental health i certainly was now but also reassured i can get lots of different medication for my parania realisation in the ad breaks...every 2 mins jesus christ its subliminally good that sport ha
