- We give Mae Jemison 30 seconds to tell us about being on Star Trek, she answers that question and then asks for more.
Mae Jemison is a physician, engineer, educator, entrepreneur and the first woman of color in the world to go into space - she was a NASA astronaut for six years. Currently Mae devotes much of her attention to the 100 Year Starship, which she says is "pursuing an extraordinary tomorrow to create a better world today." In her spare moments, Mae is a lifelong and accomplished dancer.

She is an awesome human being and an example of true exceptionalism.
This episode and the one staring Stephen Hawking should be shown in every elementary school classroom.
Dreams and imagination matter!
LLAP!
I love it. I first learned about her after that episode aired and she probably instigated my love of NASA. It was mind-blowing to me as a kid that a _real_ astronaut would also be a fan of Sci-fi and would guest-star on my favorite program.
I once read that Jamison would begin each shift up in space by informing Mission Control that "hailing frequencies were open."
Look at her. Still so cute. How she look like a young adult still? Like wow. She looks younger than my sister thats 35. lol
"It was a very cool experience".
I bet if we asked the cast, they'd say the same thing about getting to hang out with you.
I know right? She has actually gone where no Trek actor had gone before.
Wow Really cool
Why does this only have 13,800 views? ☹️
Because the majority of people gang out at the silly side of the internet instead. 😌
