In her spare moments, Mae is a lifelong and accomplished dancer.

Dreamed of going to space as a young girl
She went to medical school for biomedical engineering and also worked at a refugee camp
She wanted to take a poster of Judith Jamison,a bundle statue for the woman's society in West africa and a flag for the alpha kapa alpha sorority because she wanted them to be included
Let's face it, if you can look up at the sky and see the stars, in South Chicago at night, you can do anything!

Another bio indicated Jemison graduated from Cornell University Medical School in New York City, with Cornell's main campus in Ithaca, New York. Surprised she was not in the new Ithaca science museum with Dr. Carl Sagan planetwalk and live NASA feed during my visit a few years ago! Julie Ann Racino, Cornell University Class of 1975!
