Really? Wow, they don't sound like owners who value their staff very much. Did you work primarily for large chain companies where the actual owners are located at some headquarter office in another location? In that case, I could understand why they may be unable to, but I think the owners of small businesses should make an effort to meet employees at all levels of their company at least once. I really respect the ones that aren't afraid to get their hands dirty from time to time by performing some of the maintenance work, or by working directly on the floor alongside their staff. It's crazy how you never experienced that after 20+ years in the bar industry.

Jensen must be used by now but it must have been a bit of a challenge, especially while staying grounded and a good guy. I could be mistaken but he really strikes me as an honest good guy. Ì don't know whether Jensen and Daneel know much about the UK beer scene. This has been transformed during my lifetime by a very important organisation called CAMRA ( the Campaign for Real Ale) which has successfully campaigned over decades to improve the quality of our beer. It produces yearly the Good Beer Guide, which tells you which breweries produce, and which pubs sell, good beer. A Chancellor of the Exchequer (Gordon Brown) some years ago gave tax breaks to microbreweries, which have mushroomed all over the place, often lovingly producing outstanding beers. Occasionally, things are added to the beer, with varying degrees of success; I know an outstanding plum porter, and, astonishingly, a really successful licorice beer. I've also drunk a very palatable bright green beer. I'm rather suspicious of "Craft Beer". This tends to be sold in the trendier parts of our cities, but it is often pricey... We also have very good (hard) ciders and perries, but for goodness' sake don't mix with the beers... Of course, one of the glories of the UK is our pubs. Now there are problems here, because the property developers keep trying to snatch financially-struggling pubs for development; but we have wonderful pubs. One not too far me from was built in the 14th century, with furnishings from the 17th century. Many nowadays are "free houses", not tied to a big brewery chain, which means they can sell a wide variety of real ale. I don't know whether either Jensen or Daneel has been over to the UK, but we may be able to give you inspiration! ,
lol. my ex brewed some mead in a 2 liter bottle and it exploded all over my move-out clean of my apartment. Get some scrapbook paper, canvas paint, dyed eggshells, glitter, glue, stencils, and canvas or posters and try some collage art- kid friendyl.
