So I was so thrilled to try a Dutch pour on a large wood MDF round. I am pretty sure I am going to make this one into a clock when it’s finally finished. So stay tuned for a future video where I show you how I finish it off! When I stopped recording this video I wasn’t quite happy with it. The ends were so vibrant and colourful but the middle was just not doing it for me. So yup, I scraped it. I tried to save it by scraping parts of it, but it just wasn’t working. So I started all over again! Stay tuned for my next video in a few days to see attempt #2!
What do you think? Did you like this piece? I LOVED the composition but it was the middle colours that I just couldn’t live it. Let me know your thoughts!

From an artistic standpoint. Her artwork is amazingly abstract, organic, fluid, and unique. Not blowing on it,as many have commented, would not achieve this final result. Also the technique she uses, blowing with her mouth, allows her to control the exact direction and force with which the paint will be pushed and watch the design unfold accordingly. If she was to use a different blowing method,as many suggest, she would not have the same control over the creative process and it would produce different results. To tell an artist that you preferred their work if it was different or when it looks a certain way or before they changed it in some manner, is an insult and it just amazes me as to why so many would make such insulting comments especially to a woman who is so gracious in sharing with us her incredible talent.

I just grabbed my old hair drier, which doesn't have any attachments. I can only run it on high, or low heat. I made my own attachment, using a paper towel roll (TP roll works too!). I cut it to the desired length, & duct taped it to the end, then squished it a little bit to make a duck bill shape. It works great for my Dutch pours! Most of my tools come from the cupboards, dollar stores, yard sales, & the toy box!

I love this! Looks incredible and interesting! If this were to be a clock. I would put my favorite side of the paint, matching my favorite hour of the day. For example my favorite hour of the day is midnight, and my favorite part of the painting is where the unexpected rainbow colors popped out, so, that side would be the side the would be on the 12 o clock for my midnight favorite hour. The just what I would do. And once again, I LOVE IT

The process is amazing. Kanella's personal artistry is quite evident (this is not just another paint splatter). Her blowing process allows for much more control and artistic expression than the ones who use a hair dryer. Her choice and control of colour are also quite extraordinary. Maybe less non-related commentary though

That is a good idea..not using it to move the paint just so you can turn the painting to blow the edges so you don't have to stretch so far

If you stood on a stool you’d might fall face first into the canvas! The colors on this are gorgeous! Great job scraping off that one spot and changing it to something much nicer! Love it! It would make a grand clock.
