    Cracking video Jake!
As others have said proper Manchester Victoria, 40's and 25's everywhere!
Scenes that will never be repeated!
    How I loved the mid 70's - 80's!
    Absolute magic!

Lovely old machines...wish we still had them...our railways were great back in the 80's.....unlike all the shit that rule our tracks nowadays...

Just as I remember them, BR blue and Grime. Epic.
8.25 more work being done to Cars than locos lol.
    Great days, miss them dearly.
    Thanks for sharing.
Even miss the 24&25 Rats. 😍

A great shot from Clegg Hall bridge looking towards Smithy Bridge. Two of my favourite spotting locations from when I was a lad. You could see the crossing gates at Smithy Bridge closing so you knew something was approaching.

Thanks Jake. Oh happy days just at the end of big blue locomotive hauled trains 👍🏻 I'm from Urmston Manchester and started my train spotting days in the early 70s 🤣 The depots where full of locomotives at a weekend and you could always get round with permission for the foreman lol 😂 Reddish she'd was always good too 👍🏻 Cheers Stevie 😎

Would have been aged 10 in Late September 1983 ,Great footage from 39 years ago , Remember Video camcorders were Chunky things ,Great sounding Diesel Locomotive Class 40 power back then ❤️🎼🎶Prefer these machines and the sounds they made to the rubbish operating nowadays on today's railways that is a mess now since Privatisation took over in the early 1990s to the Internet world where computers operate almost everything,And History erased like signal boxes to semaphore Signals being replaced by computerised Technology replacing this and that in Villages and Towns operated by Signalboxes in Cities ,Prefer the days before the world going Stir Crazy .A sad sight also seeing these class 40s facing a uncertain future last time they operated was 1984 to 85 when saying goodbye to these iconic Locomotives was an awful thing to see ,And replaced by Sprinter rubbish .😔

What a superb shot 40143 with the tanks through Man Vic, getting a run up for the climb to Miles Platting. 8:25 and what a splendid bright blue Reliant Robin, perhaps being treated to some BR grade engine oil 😊

Thanks mate, I always loved that shot of 143. Just pure raw power. The noice she made as she passed through had people looking from the platforms, I still remember that.

All them whistling beasts waiting to meet the cutting torches and being cannibalized for parts and a very rare shot of a class 20 at newton heath? Never used yo see 20s in Manchester in the mid 1980s Lovely memories 😎

Heartbreaking as I always loved the sounds of Class 40 diesel power to The Smaller Sulzer Type Locomotives of the Class 24,25,26, 27 to the Class 33 .❤️Miss also the sounds of the Westerns ,The Class 50 Hoover's to the Class 55 Deltic locos on the Main line,To see surviver locos like this is to see them at a Railway Preservation society nearby .Seems nowadays there is a few Class 37 to 47 survivors running on the main line courtesy of Railtrack or Network rail ,Great video back in the early 1980s ❤️❤️❤️❤️
