  • Which one is better? The Haakaa or the Elvie Curve? :)
    For my second baby, I knew I wanted to try exclusively breastfeeding. With my firstborn, I only breastfed for 5 days because it was too painful and switched to exclusively pumping. I think it also took a toll on me because it was really time consuming washing and sterilizing bottles and parts nonstop.
    This time around I knew with two babies under two I wouldn't have that luxury of time so I chose the exclusive breastfeeding route.
    Needless to say, I also wanted to catch whatever milk in the opposite breast so I went looking for the best catcher / manual pump I could find.
    I tried out the elvie curve first for about two - three weeks before deciding on buying the famous haakaa and also used it for about the same so I could compare and contrast.
    Here are my overall thoughts!!!

    First time mom here! I think I am going to get both just to test out what will work better for me. I’m 34 weeks so I have been looking at a lot of review videos and Elvie is more recommended however this video made me keep in mind that I may be more engorged at first so the Haakaa may work better for those first few months. Thank you for your honest review!

    My biggest worry with the haakaa was that it might lead to an oversupply, so for me, the elvie curve seems like the safer bet for more passive milk collection. For more active expression, when I'm away from the baby, I'll probably use a lanisoh manual pump.

    Thank you so much for this review! Because I want to use it when baby is feeding from the other breast I think I am going for the elvie... I am still a bit torn though 😅

    Besides for wearing while feeding baby, when feeling full or etc, how long should you generally wear the elvie curve/catch or other suction/catch pumps?

      I was an overproducer so I had it on pretty much every hour 😭

      if only the elvie had the same power suction as the haakaa without digging into the nipples it would have been perfect. PERFFFECT. but unfortunately it didnt T_T and at the same time the haakaa is not wearable so ughh!!! why don't we have the perfect product yet?

    Baby and mom is currently sleeping. Watching while trying to read your lips lol. She has a haaka and I want to splurge on an Elvie single for her

    You dont need to wear a pumping bra with the haaka?

    • @NurseKirsten
      @NurseKirsten  Před rokem +1

      Not with the original haakaa because it won’t fit into the pumping bra. But the elvie curve can fit into a bra very nicely. However suction isn’t as good as haakaa so lots of things to weigh out. In the end having both is best :)

    I'm obsessed with my elvie. I'll pop out in my bra when we are out and about to be able to delay pumping
