- #canvandal #scoutxt #simpleshot There are some topics we avoid like the plague or diarrhea! Knock-offs is one of those topics. In this video I dare to answer the lingering question that enthusiast are asking...Is the knock-off the same as the original?

I concur. I bought a knock off of the Ocularis slingshot and the feelings of the original where different. Knock off just makes you want to put it back down and pick up something else.
Well said. Thanks for the feedback. Appreciate you!👊🙏
Good for you!
Saying a slingshot is a knock-off of another, is like saying a hammer, or screwdriver is a knockoff.
Just get what you like, and feel is safe for the job.
Anyone else read his Tshirt as "FISTING"
😂
Great video as always brother
😂! Thanks brother!😂!
😂
No🤦🏼♂️
Fishing
Lmmfao! In the first few minutes your shirt reads FISTING! 🤣🤣✊✊
I love my Scout knockoff, I got it off Amazon for £11 inc. pnp, it's pretty big though, so I mostly use my Torque. I've had my knockoff over 2 years with no damage yet - no fork hits.
While HDPE does not provide the same level of impact resistance as polycarbonate, its durable build will support a formidable amount of weight and has the integrity to outlast many other kinds of plastic. ... Like polycarbonate, it is extremely resistant to acids, alcohols, and bases. To make this comparison legit you would have to use the HDPE model vigorously to see at what point after how many usages this model begins to break. Great video , need more of these to inform us enthusiast what knock off companies to stay away from, not to say there aren't companies out there that are no good, there are companies that are pretty good and for the price it's probably worth saving $$$$$$.
The amount of work you put into these videos is NOT reelected by your subscriber count. Not really fair
Great stuff as usual. Keep them coming love it.👏👍
That is why I always buy my slingshots from the manufacturer! Simple shot!
The knockoff has fiberglass in the material to increase its integrity. Which makes it (GF-HDPE) Glass Filled High Density Poly Ethelene. If you have to trim the flash around the edges like i did, you can hear the knife cutting through the glass fibers.
Thanks, good and important comparison bro 😀👏
My pleasure brother! 👊🙏
I say go for whatever you can afford. Sure theres some cheap slingshots out there but people also make slingshots ot of a forked tree branch and oak is probably better than pine. If your in a survival situation use what you got, a wise man said survival doesn't have to be expensive it just has to work.
Accuracy can't be bought 😅.
having both these frame........ i can concur. i had to wrap the knock off in camo wrap for it to be comfy
That’s interesting! I had to do the same thing with mine as well. Thanks for the feedback brother!!! Means a lot!👊🙏
thank you this is EXACTLY the information i was looking for
My pleasure my friend! 👊🙏
You are the truth brother...thank you a million for this very informative video!
Very interesting video. Thanks!
My pleasure!👊🙏
I bought the knckoff from Amazon. The bands could bot be secured properly. I returned it shortly after buying it. I went and bought the real thing and am anxiously awaiting my sling mail
Right on tater! I promise it’ll be worth the wait!
They look the same to me, but the grip kinda helps give it away
Right on! Thanks brother for your input! Looking forward to seeing your next video! 👊
thanks for the comparison brother🙂👍
You bet brother! 👊🙏💥
been wondering this for a while now. glad i got the originals 👍
Yeah that’s definitely the better choice. Thanks for stopping in brother! I appreciate you!👊🙏
Thank you, i dont need to watch this video till the end.
Your comment is the instant answer.👍
Can confirm. Bought a nockoff axiom with plugs.
Feels cheap, latex they provided snapped on first pull, face hit immediately.
Quality matters, especially so close to your eyes 👍🏼
So true my friend! Glad your ok!👊🙏
I use the knock off because that's all I could get locally and importing isn't an option. My clips are still going strong after 4 years!
I bought a cheap one to compare the 2 and I found the cheap one had a sharp line around it from the 2 half's of the mould that I had to sand off. The clips that came with it are still good though.
Right on! After this response I’m going to go shoot mine! Haven’t shot it in a while. Thanks for the comment brother!
Same here. Got my Scout knock-off yesterday, much easier to buy that version here in Asia than the original. And yes, first check of the frame revealed those sharp lines from the mould as well.
Positive about the plastic material: Using sandpaper worked pretty well. I am otherwise used to those little metal slingshots Made in China, and they always need a mini grinder to effectively get the sharp edges and corners out right after unboxing (not that any of them ever got here in an actual box, though) ;-)
Otherwise like the general shape of thze frame, so thinking abut getting an original Scout on my next home leave to Europe now.
"Frame Shame" 😂 very informative video, man! Nothing beats the original 👋😎🤙
Thanks brother! I appreciate you stopping in! 👊🙏
Thanks for sharing 👍
Right on! Appreciate you brother!👊💥🙏
Them's some big fancy words you have there🤣😂👊🥃
Good stuff 👍
When I first saw your shirt I could’ve sworn it said fisting. Lol
🌹🌹🌹
Quick question please sir...I just got the scout with flip clips... but the screws were without the plastic washers is that normal.
Yes. The flip clips do not require any sleeve. I’m assuming you are referring to the metal flip clips.👊🙏
@@canvandal4503 yes the metal ones.but won't the screws damage the plastic.without the sleeves? Thanks for answering my first question.
@@nathanevans6331 I haven’t had that experience yet if you keep them snug. Once they are snug they don’t move around.
@@canvandal4503 ok cheers mate I'll put some on anyway...just in case it's such a beautiful frame I don't want to ruin it..
@@nathanevans6331 Yeah it wouldn’t hurt! I enjoyed talking with your brother! Let me know how it shoots after you have busted a few cans!👊
Very informative as well as entertaining! Absolutely love shooting the scout, however I got a torque copy a few months back and it became my primary slingshot 😂 I might get a real one in the future haha!
Thanks brother! I haven’t shot my Torque much since I purchased it. I don’t know why. It’s such a brilliant frame. Brother, you have inspired me… I’m getting out my Torque today! It is a brilliant frame and will definitely go with me to Valhalla! 😂👊🙏
@@canvandal4503It's worth putting the time into it man! Initially I found the shape awkward and even tried banding it up in reverse grip but I adapted to it very quickly and it feels so sturdy in my hand now. I've put a paracord wrap on the handle too, that also helped a lot:) Best of luck with it brother 👍
I am a bargain shopper, but this is not a place to be cheap. Its not like we are talking about a ton of money anyway. If your that cheap , go for it. I think thats silly , 16 bucks difference is Popeyes chicken for 2 and you know what it turns into :) Scout XT or LT are frames everybody should have, and why not get the real one. I have 2 of each , 2 XT and 2 LT .
Well said brother! 👊🙏
The knock off is $12. on Amazon. Good for a kid but upgrade the bands when these wear out. $12 vs $40 🤷♂️
Many thanks for technical details!
The only 1 big minus is shipping from USA into EU 😒
I totally agree about the shipping. I wish things where different. Appreciate your feedback as always! 👊🙏
There are simple shot online shops in the EU for example in Germany
@@calcifiedbonecollector3222 sure, but not interested that way of purchase. Original from usa or nothing. Like uk origin catties just from uk, directly from maker
The original scout xt is 40.00 dollars and the knock off is 6.13 dollars 😅. The price is very very fast different!
Are you sure the clip of knock off only can last for a week 😅?
Hey brother! Thank you for your comment and question. As far as the clip on the knock off in the video, it was very
sketchy to say the least. I wouldn’t trust it.
GLad I just purchased the polycarbonate type without even knowing about this comparison great video thanks.
Right on brother! Thanks for stopping by!👊🙏
Right on brother! Thanks for stopping by!👊🙏
I've been done twice here in England twice paid 48 English pounds for a scout xt and got that black thing ur hand both times
Oh wow! Next time order it from Simpleshot. 👊🙏
I just use scout lt ✌🏼buy the original guys safety first
Truth!👊🙏. Thanks brother!
I brought a knockoff torque,it wasn't advertised as a knock off. Things horrible to hold. No grip assistance.
It slipped from my hand within first couple of shots and I've not trusted it since.
Brother I may have purchased the same one a couple years back when I first got into this. Pretty much the same experience. It’s definitely worth trying the original. I think I posted a link to SimpleShot if you’re interested in the description. Thanks for stopping by brother!
Great video! Definitely not the same quality. I got my knockoff a long time ago when they were $10. I use it to shoot darts so I don't mess up the real one. I love the feel of the hdpe slingshots though.
Very informative man...thanks👌 question.....will the XT metal clips fit the LT frame????
Great question. The answer is no. The LT has its own. Thanks for watching brother! I appreciate you!👊🙏💥
@@canvandal4503 thanks for that bro....it's just that the clips on the LT look HUGE ....I don't like them...
@@charlescampbell1319 you’re not the only person that has said that. You’re in good company. The clips work well but I agree they are a tad bulky. I don’t know if that is by design or something else. Functionally they are superb but it would be nice if they were thinner in profile.
One thing to add, and this is gonna sound like I am slanted towards SimpleShot, but the design also of the thicker clips could be intentional. It does add a level of weight to the tip of the frame acting as a stabilizer.
@@canvandal4503 I appreciate that point and I understand it.....would have been great if that stabilizing weight was incorporated INTO the tips during manufacture and have a low profile set of clips....just a thought🤷🏻♂️
I would avoid knockoffs just because the material in the slingshot or the latex is likely to be crap materials.
Agreed.👊🙏
I've got a knock-off. I just sanded down the die remnants. Don't know if the original is better, but I like mine.
Right on! Thanks for the comment brother!👊🙏
I think YOU SAID in one of your video’s the FRAME does not make the shooter nor does it provide accuracy. In your example you can purchase 2 of the knock offs for the price of one original . I happen to own several of BOTH and I am not really sure it is worth the price differential.
Right On the Money Honey
😂 Thanks brother! Appreciate the support! I was a little nervous about posting this one. People really draw some lines with this subject. 🤣
@@canvandal4503 Yeah They Do...Hahaha Thought it was Straight Up...Hahaha Plus all the other Awesomeness
I just have one scout xt and also one xt copy! Out looks no different!
You said scout xt original has 200 time stronger than the normal plastic but after one time fork hit the scout xt original dent! Why this 200 time stronger than normal plastic scout xt dent?
There's only one difference that matters. One is a knock-off. I don't buy knock-offs.
The knock off is $15 on aliE
He's right you know.
Thanks brother! Appreciate that!👊🙏
@@canvandal4503 I shot my phone the other day, so I tried a new camera today...I put the vid up, but it does look weird to me. Keep shooting man.
@@Jubular I’ll check it out this evening brother!
More superior is grammatical incorrect, though not as important as the review. I own both. Other than the handle (which you could put a little grip tape on the knockoff they are dimensionally the same). As fat as durability as long as you are not shooting the knockoff with a gun you are not going to have to worry about it breaking. It also cost $10.00 from Amazon Prime delivered. With the $35.00 you save you could buy a roll of band, a rotary cutter, some pouches and not have to worry about either for a long time. Now ethics, buying a knockoff and not supporting the original designer is a whole other topic. So for someone just wanting to try out the sport if they buy the knockoff and like it buying the xt would be appropriate. J
“As fat as durability…” 🤣
@@canvandal4503 Having poor grammar and not knowing you do is not the same as being to lazy to proofread . . . anyway, wasn't picking a fight. Just thought you should know. J
There is nothing wrong with HDPE slingshots. They offer a safe and inexpensive alternative. There is a LOT wrong with theft of intellectual property.
Absolutely agree! 👊🙏
:)
Seems like it would be illegal to steal someone's frame design. Especially when the scout is so popular.
You would think that. But in some countries they don’t honor copy rights , patents and such. Shame really. Thanks for stopping by brother!👊🙏
Did you not watch? Clearly says they not the same
Simpleshot makes great slingshots, but for 43 bucks less, the knock off seems to be the better as far as value for money goes.
The whole idea of the video was to simply express that they are not the same as far as quality and material. Both frames are fully functional, but the knock off is definitely a lower quality frame.
@@canvandal4503 Yup, for sure. It's still worth more for the money though. At least in my case.
I BUY THE ORIGINAL, OR I MAKE MY OWN. WILL NEVER BUY A KNOCKOFF.
Right on!👊
I am biggest fan and cheek my Slingshot🙏
Thank you brother! 🙏👊
Huh, in Prisneyland we called that Keistering 🤣🤣☝️🙁🤦♂️
Still function the same the magic is in the bands
