I have found that some foam balls will work with the R10. I have tried several brands but have had better luck with the Callaway foam balls but have noticed that the same exact brand balls that are from a different production batch can don't always provide the same outcome. I would have thought that the more dense harder balls would be better than the softer ones, but it was just the opposite. I have had some of the softer Callaway foam balls work well enough to play a round providing you are not expecting the same distance results as a real ball. Another thing that I noticed is that the softer foam balls do not hold up as long before they split. Also you can expect to have some no-reads which were extremely frustrating trying to find the exact correct density foam ball.
So it can and will read some foam balls, but I now have an outside and an inside net set up to use and really don't use 'em anymore.

It works with wiffle balls, but those balls split very easily and the distance and ball flight is also not like a golf ball

You better go for foam balls to protect the club

You're amazing for making this video, that is why I am subscribed to you. Personally, I want a unit that works with foam balls because I want to use it indoors and not accidentally shank it and make a hole in the wall 😅

Thank you, I will test it out with foam balls and a metal sticker as it was suggested here and see if it works

Sci-Core practice balls work well with the R10 and Awesome Golf.
You can put metal dots on them, too.

I have the garmin. But I will say this. Why get the Garmin or any Simulator to hit foam balls. Just hit foam balls or buy the garmin sensors that go in the handle of your clubs. The foam balls won't tell anything for data. I have the foam balls for kids learning, and I invested in kirkland balls. What you need is sound proofing and sound dampening. Simple. Don't worry about foam balls. Might as well make it awesome. And if you shank one. Cover the dent with a cool Cat poster that gives advice. 😊

I agreed, some golfers are just concern with the noise, but I thinkg with proper insulation you get reduce the noise, I use an archery baffle netting and the sound is very light

I have the plastic wiffle ball style of practice balls. I realy like them cause you can go full send indoors and not break anything. I wonder if they would work better cause the machine could see the holes spin. Idk. Just an idea. Great videi as always.

Ive tried wiffle practice balls in the backyard and most of the time the R10 didnt read them. Every now and then it picked up a read but it seemed off.

Erich , would it be worth putting a mark on the foam ball with a sharpie so the R10 / Mevo may see the blob spinning ?
