You need an authentic game copy, no cracked accounts work. If the drive you have rust on has a different assigned letter than “C:”, just change the letter in your .bat file, this will solve the “file path” error. If it says steam auth failed and you have a good game copy, reinstall the server after verifying your game files on steam. This does still work if you do it right, i can assure you. You need to port forward to add your friends on, there’s a link in the description, watch those videos. :)
@WaffleWolff you don't need additional folders. when you click the steamcmd.exe file it creates the needed folders/files after installing steamcmd. The additional folders are not necessary.

Dude, I love you. All the build servers have a 12 year old lagging out the server by spawning a million bear rugs, or they have a super low limit on what entities can be spawned. This just fixed all my problems. Running like a dream on my pc.

This worked great. Its insane how much pve there is without other players on the map. Edit: it's also super great to learn the monuments. Sure enjoy getting fully geared and doing oil rig and stuff, but it's also great to practice being a minimalist. Also after practice on koala flight server, it's good tofly with medium consequences of losing your chopper vs contending with a barage of gun fire.

I wanted to have this as a long term private RP server for me and my friends. Is this possible to do?
If you know how to save and load .sav files created by the server you can do part of this, if you have a local server, it’ll be updating when your rust client updates so it’s hard to avoid the wipes, impossible really as EAC will probably prohibit that and get mad at you or something like that.

I don't know if it's a mod I put in but when I place a furnace I put wood in it and turn it on it works fine but as soon as I grab any ore in my inventory to the furnace breaks and I get a error message. I need to know how to fix this. Like if you go to sandbox In rust the build server and if you try to place ore in a furnace it will break and give you that same message this is what is happening to me

Press enter on most errors to fix it and it’ll continue loading. If you run into anything like that just deleting all of the server files, verifying game files and restarting the server install typically fixes it
'RustDedicated.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file can happen when you put the batch file on your desktop. try to run it from This PC/(_:)/rustserver instead

You can keep .sav files and load them into the same map / seed, but if new updates come out with changes to world Gen or monuments it’ll mess things up.

That is your server. Any server you client.connect to will show that. The config options for name and description are for public servers if you were to port forward.

i just left the game did a restart of computer did a load up of the file than open rust press f1 and typed the comand and it open up at the fishing village were i just exit the game from love it love it
Where is it displaying this? I presume this is the server display, but where are you seeing these values? It runs off your computer so if your computer is running a slower drive or has network issues, it can affect how the server performs.

When you launch RUSTSERVER.bat, let it be for about 10-15mins, assume longer for a first launch. You don’t need to type anything. If you press enter here and there it’ll bypass any noncritical errors that may show up. Just follow the video, the launch cmd runs on its own. Don’t close it or your server will go offline
You have to grant yourself ownerid with the command near the end of the video in the command prompt. It’ll be “ownerid steam64ID”, just replace the steam64ID with your own and run the command, you may have to reconnect. If it worked, the “noclip” command will work in your F1 console.
You wipe it when you want to. Facepunch releases a new update monthly first Thursday of every month so you may be forced to wipe it on those days as your game will update meaning the server automatically will since it runs off of your game.
This doesn’t work every time i put in the f1 command to join it gets to 9700/10495 then crashes and insta closes so now I have all this useless downloaded shit on my pc thanks I guess also I like how you didn’t open the game showing it works…
Not that I know of, if your server is local hosted you don’t need to worry about it though, and if you have enough people on a port forwards server, I recommend a paid host as they have predone DDoS protection

When I do the window batch thing and it’s downloading the sever it stops downloading and shows the could not establish a tcb connection. You said the tcb thing was normal but it’s doing it mid way through the download process and then freezing my download. What could I have done wrong?

Wipe is manual, and typically required on a force wipe to apply an update. You can spawn stuff in console yes. Spawn items and car parts in the Items tab, and spawn a car module using “spawn car” and it’ll give you a list of every car module chassis you can spawn.

The text file is your config so yes map customization and server profile.

If you have ownerid just reconnect, you can also install oxide and get custom plugins for giving yourself studf

How do I go about putting my building privileges back to normal in a server players have to build out 40+ squares just to place another tc down
This server is entirely vanilla unless you tweak it. TCs only need a range of 13 some odd squares out.

Yes it’ll run around 1-2GB of RAM so I recommend a minimum of 16GB RAM in your system, never hurts to have 32.
