Little disappointed that "Historic Premillenialism" wasn't elaborated on, as it appears to be the oldest end times view out there (albeit, not currently held to widely). Conversely, there are adherents of that view would see a some kind of distinction of the church and Israel.

Hey Mike. I thought your explanation of the Amil position was way off. Maybe it was the idealist part that that made it weird. Lol. I don’t know anyone who believes what you just explained. Voddie Baucham and Kim Riddlebarger have great teachings on this. Also, Sam storms book “Kingdom Come” is a great book on the Amil position. I’m not even sure on my eschatology because I have questions with all of them. I do believe that the Amil position makes some very valid points and should be better understood. Chuck Missler would say that all the time. In fact he would say that Luke, in Acts 17:11, would tell you not to trust anything anyone says but search the scriptures daily to see if what you hear is so. He would also say that if you just excepted what he said without doing your homework you failed. His studies are also very fascinating.

      HISTORICIST VIEW CLARIFIED
In summary, the historicist view sees events unfolding throughout the course of history. This view does not change based upon the different time periods in which it is employed, such as by having new layers built on top of it every hundred years (or so), as was supposed by mike.
History does not change and for the same reason neither does the historicst view. This view looks at the Bible’s description of certain prophetic events and looks at history for matching events which correspond to the biblical description. Then by using the same methods of interpretation, this view deciphers future events that have not unfolded in history at present, but will; It incorporates preterism when appropriate and futurism when appropriate. Sometimes the historical events have already unfolded (preterism) and sometimes the historical events are still future (futurism). This is the most solid and consistent view of biblical eschatology and has been for hundreds of years.
Daniels statue and four beasts represented 4 kingdoms spanning from Babylon to Rome divided. The little horn of Daniel 7 does things that the composite beast in revelation 13 does showing that these are the same powers in different symbols. Only one institution in history does what the little horn and composite beast do. The papacy. If the papacy is the beast, what’s its Mark? That’s the next logical question. Let’s ask them:
“"Sunday is our mark of authority… The catholic Church is above the bible, and this transference of Sabbath observance is proof of that fact." Catholic Record. September 1, 1923
This was the most prominent view and remained so until the 19th century when other views that came out of the counter reformation became popular and mixed with other erroneous ideas. Preterism and Futurism came from two Jesuit priests Alcasar and Francisco Ribera. The Jesuit’s, founded in 1534 by the Spanish noble Ignatius Loyola and officially recognized in 1540 by the pope five years before the council of Trent, were organized as part of the counter reformation whose sole aim was to counter the claims and arguments of the Protestant reformers. This was done by many means: torture, espionage, propaganda, infiltration, etc.
These views whose origins come from the same people whom the Protestants Called Antichrist, were then mixed together with Darby’s new dispensationalist ideas in the 1800-1900 hundreds and later they were incorporated into the Scofield reference Bible. Next they were presented in popular novels and movies like the left behind series.
The world has forgotten their history.
The reformers were right and the seat of popery is Antichrist. Isn’t it just fascinating how the world now subscribes to their eschatological views which just so happens to put the Antichrist either in the past or future?
Seems like if they wanted to take the heat off of themselves they did a good Job. I’m a Protest-ant. That means i protest. But what? The same beast power that the Bible calls the whore of Babylon and who sits in the temple (Christian church) of God showing himself that he is God (the vicar of Christ). The woman was clothed with purple and scarlet (cardinals and bishops) and sits on seven hills (Vatican is conveniently placed between seven hills called the seven hills of Rome). The reformers were right. But the world has forgotten their history. If you don’t know who the beast is how can you prepare for the Mark of the beast or even determine what it could be?
Putting the entirety of end time events wholly in the past or future is to become complacent because the sense of urgency to be diligent stewards and students of Gods word becomes less urgent. God has a specific message to go throughout the whole world:
“Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth-to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people- saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.” ( cf., Ex. 20:8-11)
And another angel followed, saying, “Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.”
Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”
Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.” Revelation 14:6-12

What helped me was to realize that the Church Age aka Gospel Era aka "1,000" Year Reign aka "Millennial" Reign are all the same thing. "1,000" doesn't mean exactly "1,000" like when God says He owns the cattle on a "thousand" hills... in Psalm 50. I used to be confused on that 1/4 and 1/3 of the earth has yet to be destroyed, then I found out that the Greek word is ge that most Bibles translate as earth. When i hear earth, i think global earth, but if God meant global earth He would of used kosmos. Ge actually means soil, land, ground earth NOT global earth. So now I see that the 1/4 and 1/3 referred to the land of Israel not global earth. So that all did happen in 70AD. Also, I finally realized that satan is a spiritual being. he can't be locked up in Alcatraz etc. his heart is locked up in the chains of sin and death. We as humans are spiritual in our hearts. So satan is locked up right now and before we heard the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ we were locked up with him in the chains of sin and death, the Gospel Message makes us free!!! Hallelujah!!! @John Eldred that used to bother me how the Bible calls Jesus the Lion of Judah and it refers to satan as a lion. Then I studied the lions and how they live in a group called a pride. Sooner or later a young male tries to take over. he is beaten by the Lion and kicked out and then he roams hungry and desperate. So I know God's Word is perfect. Whenever I find possible contradictions, when I dig in, I am sooooo blessed.

The Amil position isn’t speaking of a literal binding, it’s a figurative one and only for one specific purpose. God has limited or bound Satan for one purpose only, and that is he can’t stop the gospel from being spread throughout the nations. Those who hold the Amil position don’t actually believe that Satan is literally bound in chains and can’t cause any trouble throughout the Earth . We know that things on Earth are progressively getting worse and we’re in the end times. When Satan is loosed we believe that God no longer limits Satan and all the nations turn against the church/Christians.

Biblical theology holds the End times displays events in three sections of the same event.
Therefore, Pre-Millenium, Post-Trib, Pre-Wrath is the accurate eschatological doctrine. There is partial preterist view although dispensationalism is a false teaching. Satan has a final stand against God at the end of the millenium, as well. That is the only difference.
There is a dispensation of Covenants which allow all those from differing regions to come to knowledge of Christ. All men will hear and allowing all mankind to accept the offer of Salvation. Apologia studios is a false teaching platform, with false teachers giving their philosophy. Amillenialism is false, pan-millenialism is false.

@@abashedsanctimony154 you might be right, your view sounds very reasonable. I was confused for awhile when I rejected dispensationalism as a valid hermeneutic because I connected it with a futurist view of eschatology. So I really appreciate the distinction being made. However, I’m hesitant to hold any view too tightly when it comes to secondary issues. It keeps me humble.

    • @abashedsanctimony154
      @abashedsanctimony154 Před 3 lety

@@kristinleslie584 That's great to hear. Some teachers will be so convincing as if they are correct in their hermeneutics and philosophy, believing only the Holy Spirit will know. (futurist theology is actually a spirit of deception, so I understand).
The counter to the deception, is to make another lie, which is Pre-Trib dual raptures or amillenialism (no rapture).
Amos 9:2 is a good verse to study in detail, because every person was tested before their death biblically. Many have been taught a lie (but they also believed) by those who also teach they will be rewarded for simply teaching/receiving the Scriptures'. It's not true. Only God decides who is saved. Most who have taught Pre-Trib, are seminary trained, but not actual Scholars, (because the Greek LXX isn't correct.) Scholars and Jewish believers know that Pre-Trib is as false as the news telling you their stories are true, and of course many believe the news.
Remember God doesn't see any person with respect as to their place on judgement day. The only distinction is if we have Christ's name on our forehead. (We have all played part in the crucifixion of Christ (Roman 3:23 all have sinned, all have put Christ to death)
Take humble martyrs throughout history, Daniel, Hananiah the furnace and the lion's den weren't walks in the park. Nor were Roman martyrdoms.

"1,000" doesn't mean exactly "1,000" like when God says He owns the cattle on a "thousand" hills... in Psalm 50. Also, I finally realized that satan is a spiritual being. he can't be locked up in Alcatraz etc. his heart is locked up in the chains of sin and death. We as humans are spiritual in our hearts. Hi Mike! Faithful amillenialist from Sydney, where amillenialism is the predominant protestant view by a large margin (probs around 80%).
Though I enjoyed learning a better defence and explanation of pre-mil and post-mil than I have heard before, I think that there is one strong lay argument for amillenialism that you neglected: the argument from uncertainty. We do not want to form eschatological doctrine that will either unnecessarily divide or distract the local church. This is perhaps also why amillenialism has such a diversity of belief within it, for it gives a general framework all Christians can assent to (e.g. the spiritual reign of Christ inaugurated by his salvific work as seen in Rev 5) whilst giving room to individual interpretation of particular events or prophetic parallels.

My take is that you had done extremely well to meet your 3 goals. It's your approach how to share the Bible without dividing the body of the church nor condemning anyone's view that differ from you, is most worthwhile learning.
Your approach is open and inclusive, yet providing the teaching of truth which are absolutely not negotiable. There are things that we just cannot be 100% sure that we should go easy.
Love your approach in teaching the truth.

This has been helpful, and food for thought. I have got to work out where the heck I stand now.
One thing is obvious...we cannot be too dogmatic about these things. I have had a pastor tell me that the church has replaced Israel, which is just like any other nation now, not special. OT prophecies were fulfilled at the establishment of the church, and the promises are all about the church. If this is so, why is God literally fulfilling all the prophecies about the regathering of Israel now, after nearly 2000 years? Seems to me that He is doing more than one thing here. He can multitask. And He keeps His promises to Israel as well as to Christians.

But, my amill understanding about Revelation is a little different from what you describe. I believe much of Revelation is a series of parallel stories/accounts giving different perspectives on the same period/s of time. I believe the stories do describe what will/is taking place but from different vantage points. The 1000 year reign is understood in the same way as when Jesus said that the kingdom of God had arrived: present but not all pervasive. I hope this helps.

@@Deacondan240 Your blog sounds awesome. I remember years ago while in the Army a fellow soldier became a calvinist. I was newly rededicated to the Lord at that time. We had some pretty intense conversations. I have a video called Jacob I loved and Esau I hated. That video sheds a lot of Light on the subject. As far as Bruce Gore, I might not perfectly hold the same exact views. He is very, very smart and highly educated in all history. I stick 100% to the Bible on learning my view. I believe Revelation 1-19 is over. The Army from the East of 200 million was and can only be Jesus, the Old Testament saints and angels. No other human army will ever attain 200 million. China has 2 million with 500 thousand reserves. And note Jesus and His Army came from the East. Take a peek at Numbers 2, Judah camped on the East. I believe we are in Revelation 20, the Church Age aka Gospel Era aka 1,000 Year Reign aka Millennial Reign. The heart of satan is corrupt and locked up, just like us before coming to Christ. Our hearts were chained, locked up with him BUT the Gospel makes us free!!! Later in Revelation 20, after the Church Age, satan will be cast into the lake of fire. 2 Peter 3, the earth burning with intense heat happens as well, then Revelation 21 and 22. As far as the Hebrews, today's church has missed the point of planet earth. The soul purpose of this earth is for the Gospel Message. The Promise Messiah was given to Abraham, called a Hebrew first in Genesis 14. God tells Abraham, "through your loins ALL nations will be blessed." The choseness of the Hebrews started at Abraham and ENDED at Jesus Christ. The Hebrews are very special because the Savior of all mankind came through them. The entire New Testament opens up with the genealogy from Abraham to Jesus Christ in Matthew 1 for reason. The Land Promises were ALWAYS Everlasting, Forever: this is Heaven, not the physical land of Israel. Today's church wants to see Israel build to future temples, a 3rd and a 4th temple. They fail to see Jesus as the Actual Temple of God that Dwelt amongst us, "Destroy this Temple and in three days I will raise it up." John 2. He IS the 3rd Temple. We are the 4th temple, "Don't you know that you are the temple of the Holy Spirit...." 1 Corinthians 6. Also a huge point about Revelation is the Greek word ge. It has been pushed as meaning global earth, so of course 1/4 and 1/3 of global has yet to be destroyed BUT if translated correctly it is soil, ground, land, earth NOT global earth. If God meant global earth He would of used kosmos for world. "God so loved the kosmos...." I have quite a few Revelation videos, check them out. I have one Amazon book as well on the 7 Feasts of the Lord. All 7 have been fulfilled, they are in fact the Full Gospel Message, Hallelujah!!! I look forward to checking out your blog.
