  • Our 2019 Can-am Outlander 850 Max XT getting a new Yoshimura Slip on exhaust pipe. We also had the chance to wrap the exhaust manifold without removing the header and install some heat tape on the plastic panels on the left side of the bike. The whole DIY process only took us 2 hours. We are always learning as we go. This was our first experience with both products and we were able to complete the install without running into any major issues! If you would like to try these out on your machine click the links below to find the products we bought on Amazon!

    Nice work on the video. Very detailed and love the yoshi sound. Now that some time has passed, I’m curious what your thoughts are on the heat wrap.Does it work? How long did it last?

    • @leskivoutdooradventures83
      @leskivoutdooradventures83  Před 2 lety +1

      The heat wrap does work, I still have no problems with it. I had 3 rolls of it from my other projects that’s why I used it on. It’s up to you if you want to do the extra step and install the wrap. I don’t think nothing will happen to the plastics if you don’t use the wrap. Thx for the question and thx for watching the video 👍

    I'm about to do my Yoshi install on my 650 xmr...only piece in the kit that has me confused is that 2.5in piece of pipe..does that slide in where the pipe meets the exhaust?

    How much of a heat improvement would you say it was?

    • @leskivoutdooradventures83
      @leskivoutdooradventures83  Před 4 lety

      I would say 5-10% in heat deduction. It’s worth the money and time to wrap the pipe and the header on the bike.

    Did you have a tuner? Many people told me if you removed spark arrestor on yoshimura, you needed a tuner... it is true?

    • @leskivoutdooradventures83
      @leskivoutdooradventures83  Před 4 lety

      We do not have a tuner on the 850. We will be ordering one soon for the bike. It’s recommended to install a tuner with the pipe. But so far we haven’t had any problems with the bike leaning out.

      @@leskivoutdooradventures83 Is there a possibility if I remove the spark arrestor on the yoshimura that the engine is damaged?

    • @leskivoutdooradventures83
      @leskivoutdooradventures83  Před 4 lety

      I am not legally liable for what you do to your unit. I only can tell you what I did to my. I have been riding my 850 now for 6 months with the pipe and no 0 problems with it. This Friday I will be ordering a tuner for the bike and most likely waiting 2 months for delivery cus of all the bs that’s happening in the world right now. I will post an install video when I get the tuner.

    It is ridiculous to cover pipes of stock vehicle because of heat problem, it's a shame for can-am I think. I was thinking to buy this model but i see everybody who rides can-am outlander has this stupid problem. I see posts since year 2010, isn't it crazy? Can-am does nothing about this? You spent so much money on this and you have to modify stock vehicle this is really crazy for a premium vehicle. I'm not sure which vehicle I should choose. I see polaris catches on fire. I want to use ATV for in summer with my short but I don't want to feel any heat. What's your opinion?

    • @leskivoutdooradventures83
      @leskivoutdooradventures83  Před 3 lety +2

      Every brand has its own problems. We got the can-am cus it looked cool and it was a 2 up model. I did my homework before paying cash for it. I knew of the heat problems, diff’s exploding, fuel pump overheating...etc but we still bought it cus I had a plan to upgrade everything anyways. If you want something that last forever and you don’t want to throw money at it, then buy a Honda!
      In the end it’s “YOUR” money my friend. Do your homework before you buy something that in the long run can bankrupt you. In my case I have many toys that cost me a lot of money but I work 9-5 Monday to Friday! So on the weekends I play with my toys and enjoy them with my family. Again there all good brands, everyone has there pros and cons. It’s your money and your enjoyment in the end.

      @@leskivoutdooradventures83 yeah thanks for the reply, I agree it looks cool i also like can-am outlander, and I wanna buy this model that's why it makes me crazy. I do not like other brands models but I think this is very basic problem and factory can make the same things that u did before complete a stock vehicle. I'm very doubtful if I buy outlander its gonna give burn to my leg cuz I really want to enjoy in summer normal driving. I even will not do crazy forest mud driving stuff i just need necessary towing capacity to take my boat in-out to the sea with this unit. Whats ur opinion is it still melting plastic after this update? Can u drive it with short? Funny but people says no,

    • @leskivoutdooradventures83
      @leskivoutdooradventures83  Před 3 lety +1

      If you like it buy it. If you use the atv as a normal person. Then you won’t have any problems with it. I run my stuff to the ground that’s why I have problems with my toys and make videos of what I upgrade. If your driving from point A to point B and doing lil towing then the outlander will last many years for you.
