I've used a few types of brushed motors and realized the Traxxas 550 Titans are more durable. I've got a couple of them in a Clod Buster that I've had for twelve years now and it still runs great and I never did the break in process.
This is something they should do at the factory. What a tedious exercise. Good to know but I would guess 90% of owners would not have the patience to do this.
@@EKB_RCThat doesn't make sense. They have to replace it under warranty. Most are getting these for their kids, so why would Arrma be expecting most people to upgrade the motor to 3S? That would be just making themselves waste resources on exchanging everyones motors. Sorry but this is nonsense.
I floored it right after building it. The motor died on me after a few days. I switched the motor for a traxxas 550 titan 12t. I learned my lesson and broke in the new motor using a cup of distilled water. It is running better than ever.
That's how I did it when I raced brushed slashes but just for bashers it's no real need to go through all that this sets the brushes just fine and any small kid can do it. That's what this is aimed at more than adults That's brand new into the hobby
Lol😂 My thought exactly! I ran mine hard couple of days ago and burned it out. I'm gonna try using the esc and 550 motor combo out of my Associated Hoonitruck since it's 3s capable

Thanks for the sub!
And the idea to show off breaking in a brushed motor

Yeah. . . and that's what the company is hoping for!!!! that way you upgrade to brushless faster, but that's just my opinion haha 😂

Use to do the ole water trick when racing the slash but if you do it too much in the water it will take too much material off the brushes haha
@@EKB_RC based on your experience, how long should you run a motor in water for break-in?
@@2XRC not long at all really good 4 min or until water stops getting dirty super fast
@@EKB_RCcool. Thanks !
wie not fix it on a desk and let it spin without wheel contat until empty?
You could do that but the load of amps is at a constant and doesn't have the changes it will experience in real deal driving
If you want to properly break in a brushed motor, pull out the motor, put it in a glass of water and run it. CZcams is your friend

No, the first thing you do is take out that shitty motor and put a brushless system in it! Lol
Yeah or that lol 🤣
the first to do, don't buy it !
