I love how Arrma released a cheap rc to compete with the cheap rcs lol. I hope they make other vehicle types following this
I love that Arrma is fighting back against the budget RC world with such a good deal in an awesome RC with loads of performance potential, not to mention steady and ready parts supply to go along with it. This car is a home run for Arrma
@@Rek_Rc time will tell how really robust the drive train is. But spares are easily available. The only downside I can see so far, is that the bodies are relatively expensive, but hey, shoe goo and drywall tape. Does it look like non Gorgon bodies can be mounted?
@@johnellefa I can't think of any bodies that would fit besides the Gorgon body so far. But, you're right about the gearing, it's holding up so far but time will tell. Though, I did just post a short of it doing 62 MPH.

Just a change of equipment changed the whole channel it seems. I didn't realize how big the difference was until I looked at two videos side by side, it's a big difference.
This looks so fun 👌 props for running it 3 brushed too, good cheap way to get more speed in some of these entry level cars. Now rebuild your Senton as a 4s machine! I put metal diffs in mine and its bannanas

It's a car that sells itself. 139 dollars, 1/10 scale, name brand, super durable, brushless ready, it actually might be the perfect budget basher and to come from a name like Arrma is awesome because parts support will be steady and ready.
Dam Straight. It's a totally amazing RC. It pumps new blood into the Arrma line of vehicles. For now unless I hit the lotto I'm sticking with all 3s cars. They are plenty fun for me at my level. I really dreamed of getting a LMT or Lasernut some day but my next car will definitely be the Gorgon. I already have the ESC and motor that is waiting for this awesome RC. I'm kind of thinking to get the black one and assemble it for even more fun. @@Rek_Rc
@@RCRoads the RTA kit was what I wanted but they were in backorder when I got mine. 3s 1/10 scale cars do everything at the same level of speed as larger scale more expensive cars. Aside from the price, and the size, I find the experience to be basically the exact same except that 1/10 scale cars are easier to afford, drive, store, work on, and overall justify owning. 1/10 scale cars started this whole hobby basically, and it will always be the most popular hobby RC size I believe. If not for 1/10 scale RC cars the hobby might look much different than it does now and maybe not in a good way.
@@Rek_Rc Very well said. My limited personal experience with RC's has led me to believe that for offroad driving a 1/10 scale car works out much better than a smaller scale car. Not to big to carry and not too small to cut through rough stuff. Running 3s is plenty good for me and I'm sure if you dial stuff in like the gearing and electronics and add in a good battery you could really get some good speed. I'm still running with my 2 original 3s packs that I bought over a year ago and can't really notice a loss in power. The best thing I like about having 1/10 scale RC's is that as you said they are easy to work on.

The voltage is a great car for sure. I think that Arrma will make a BLX version of this just like they did the voltage granite.

@@Rek_Rc I’m pretty excited to get this. You probably never will be able to get it full throttle unless you do some aero mods to it. I bet that van body acts like a huge sail. Maybe run it without the body and see how it does.
@@ReadytoRunRC I think you're right, full throttle won't happen without mods. I tried running it without the body, but it still just flips at the slightest flinch of the throttle. The body really is like a sail, but I figured since it looks cooler crashing with the body than without, I just rock it with it on hahahah. Arrma hit a home-run with this car.
I use to be a traxxas person but ARRMA is getting all my money now.
Traxxas makes great cars, it's just that Arrma does too, but for less money often times. I really love Traxxas cars but sometimes it's hard to justify buying them.
One thing I think is cool, they made the stock esc/receiver so you could use it as a stand alone esc if you wanted to switch the radio out.
They made the gears extra beefy too. My first impression of these was definitely wrong
I misread this car at first too brother! But once it arrived, I was like "oh, Arrma actually wants people to love this car". I'm betting on a BLX version soon!
Great video 🙂 I think 3s brushed is a great way to go in the winter when under 0° Celsius.
Are the included ESC, transmitter and servo of decent quality?
They are good quality but can only run as high as 2s. I swapped the ESC to run 3s when it was brushed. The 6500Kv brushless system was a little too much but it was a total blast!
The usual 2wd brushless problems arise here. still a good truck

Are the gears the same as the Arrma 3s line or possibly something different/better (you know I hate the input gear in my Big Rock)😂.
That really seems like a great truck and a fast brushed motor!!! And with your brushless setup it would smash my a Big Rock’s top speed.

The gears are .8 mod so they can mesh with 32 pitch but I wouldn't put a ton of pressure on them that way. I went way too far with the 6500Kv though, but I used the stock pinion. I'm really going to miss that GPS, it's getting its own little case to RIP in. The potential of this car for 139 dollars is off the charts!
Add ARRMA Senton body mounts and get a nice Proline Ford F-150 Raptor body maybe. Plus its a great well balanced platform! Yep cool new project for me :)

I'm not sure, but I know 6500Kv is the perfect amount to hit the roof really hard hahahah. If I backed it down a bit 50 would be pretty easy. But, I bet even a 3200 Kv could do it with the right gearing. Hopefully I'll find out later today.

I suffer from PTSD/Anxiety disorder & bi-polar depression & I struggle with low self esteem & self confidence... Most days I have to fight with myself to get myself out the house with my RCs...

I'm now almost 4 years sober, I've quit smoking, I'm eating healthy, socialising more & exercising.. All because of getting out the house with my RCs.!
I'm absolutely 💯% addicted to this wonderful hobby now, I think about it before falling asleep, I think about it as soon as I wake up, I work on them every day & (weather permitting) I take them out almost every day.!
This hobby has helped me turn my life right around... But... I couldn't have done it without wonderful people just like yourself, who through your videos gave me the initial confidence to go outside & play with my toys...
I really, really struggled to feel comfortable taking them out in public.. Once I started watching other adults doing it I found it so much easier.!
Every day is still a battle, but I now have tools to help me that I didn't have before.!
For the first time in years I'm getting enjoyment & satisfaction out of my life.!!

It depends what motor you put in it. You could used a 5mm shaft motor or a 3mm (1/8) shaft motor, and yes the gearing is 32P

How is the gyro on that banggood rx and tx?
It's actually fantastic, it works really well, the radio and receiver both. Especially for how cheap they are. I love mine, I use them on almost all my 1/10 scale cars. The gyro sometimes wants to fight your steering input as it tries to keep the car straight, but it has sensitivity control on the radio.
Crazy cheap basher man, Arrma are going to sell shed loads of this new Gorgon. They obviously have plans to release a brushless version themselves later, hence the HG drivshafts, 0.8 mod gears & provision for a fan above the forward mounted motor. Great video.
I think you're right, and that's going to be huge when they do. If this was any indication of how it will be as a BLX, it's going to be one of the best!

Not off hand but it's a spektrum 100A 6500Kv drag racing system. It's easy to find on Amazon, it's what losi puts into their 22s drag cars.

I wish you had shown how you installed that brushless motor with the side leads…
I just cut some of the rubber seal away from the wires and turned the motor so the wires were at the widest part of the opening. Then I just lined it up and mounted it in.
@@Rek_Rc Thanks! Did you use anything to reseal it? Just curious cause I am trying to decide between this and upgrading to brushless or going with an already brushless Kyosho Mad Van.
@@nervecentral no, I just cut away the seal, I've even driven it in rain since, and it was fine. But, the important part is to not cut the coating on the wires, just the seal at the base of them on the motor.
@@nervecentral no I didn't reseal it. But, there are longer brushless motors you can use. I only forced that 6500Kv motor in because I wanted it to be as crazy a car as I could make it without needing a 6s ESC.

Take the body off for speed run duh
The thing is, I tried that, but there is so much RPM going to the wheels that with or without the body, it would flip really hard with a slight flinch of the throttle finger. So I elected to use the body to protect the electronics, especially the tall ESC from sliding along the road at those speeds.

No, because the very next video made the world fastest gorgon for the time. By this point in this video nobody else's had gotten to the speed I got to on 2s by then either. So it still applied. Or maybe you didn't see how fast it went after I said that, which we couldn't measure until the following video, but still looked to be lightning fast. I won't clickbait my viewers or subscribers. I may use buzz words but I won't blatantly clickbait you
