I made a Fallout Radiation King TV to play Fallout 3 on out of a 1950’s TV!

- I made a custom Fallout inspired "Radiation King' out of an old 1950's tv.
This is a quick video of my novice trial and error skill set in making this old tv box a usable tv to play Fallout on. A custom “Radiation King” tv you might say.
I bought this 1950’s tv over 7 years ago with the intention of doing something awesome with it someday.
This was a fun project for me, something I have had on my mind for such a long time. It’s been a real joy to see it through and play Fallout on.
For something extra I decided I wanted to add some original 1950’s water decals to the wood tv box to resemble some of the Fallout locations, like places I have “traveled”.

This was edited together with clips of me working on it over time so please excuse the sloppiness. It wasn’t originally made for CZcams but hopefully it still pans out, lol.

I dont like seeing people rip apart old TVS. But at least you did something cool with it instead of turning it to a pet bed or liquor cabinet.
I do appreciate your opinion. I love antiques and things like this. I wanted to try and keep its coolness but still use it as a tv. There’s a few things I would go back and do different like not cut the back end of the tv off but I’m happy at least it will get used and I’ll enjoy it for many years to come
Wah wah, someone did something cool with something old. You know how many people just throw this stuff away? At least they made something new with it. You don’t like old tvs being ripped apart? Than go buy as many as you can.. such a weird and bitter comment to make. You must be a miserable person.

Because the alternative that everyone else did with throwing them in a landfill is so much better... Pet people repurpose old things to avoid so much trash
@@Dunz0Washington The fact that nearly all of them went into landfills, makes the few that remain quite special, and as a general rule, they should be protected. That concept should have been rather obvious.

Would love to see the adverisements for the SPECIAL manual play through this..
Also, if you could create a "tuner" to be able to "change channels" with an authentic sounding "clunk" for each channel and perhaps have "static" generated with an "antenna" to "be calobrated" by wobbling the "antenna" would add to the realism that tlu have already set for this tv.. it's fantastic..
Perhaps even a fisheye lens to give it that "glass tube" appearance and some valves inside that glow at night to give of that realism. Maybe even a hum too.. when it "fires up" and the tube expanding into a picture.

yeah but it looked pretty messed up before she customised it and also I have a feeling it was in bad shape before that
@Foxy-h4rhu5 not really, we didn't get to see what the condition of the original electronics was. When it comes to these TVs, the picture tube's condition is the most important part as well as transformers and whatnot. If those are in decent shape than the TV is a great candidate for restoration, even if the cabinet is a little iffy
@@rcmac206who cares? Lots of people make things out of old tvs. Not everyone is just interested in getting the most amount of money possible out of all of their belongings. Some people just want to create something out of something else.
@@insectwarfare8681 i meant more historical value than anything. If it's an empty cabinet or the chassis is beyond any use whatsoever, sure, but preserving these TVs is getting harder and harder with the parts continuing to dwindle.

You could have hardwired the original switches to the monitor like audio nice build What did you use to make those stickers
Maybe if CZcams videos pay well enough you can bump up to Xbox One X. They've gotta be getting affordable now that the Xbox Series X has been out for four years.
That said, you crushed it. It looks weathered, it looks straight from the universe, and the monitor looks flawless in there.

Fallout 2 and New Vegas will for ever be my favorite. It's hard to pick between those 2. But i think Fallout 2 is even better than New Vegas
