I loved the infinite and the divine, the audiobook was very good and it has lots of funny moments. Can’t wait for a new Trazyn model to come out
Good to hear! We will give it a listen
As a Necron collector who only began at the start of 9th with the Indomitus box they are a fantastic army to collect. You were also able to collect lots of them cheap with the Imperium magazine flooding ebay. Great models, great lore and now great rules. Would love a monolith ❤
Infinite and the Divine is great book - Two grumpy old men trying to undo each other when time is irrelevant. The Twice-Dead King books are also good, combined with IatD give you a great insight and understanding into the faction.
Good shout on the imperium magazine! Have heard the twice dead king series is very good so will get that on the audible wishlist.
I really like seeing these...they give a great visual of what a good sized army of them would be like. It is especially helpful if I missed a bunch of model releases while taking a break from the hobby....Sorry Necrons.
Glad you're enjoying them! We really enjoy making them and its eye opening for us
FOR THE ALGORITHM!
Always
Finally, left Kieran is making sense. Necrons are awesome, and the Skorpekh Destroyers are leading the way. My Ultramarines would still like to have a word though...
Haha! I make loads of sense I'll have you know. We're finally getting to a position in the 40k road map where my favourite armies reside, I'll be far more positive from here on in 😂
The infinite and the divine is a good read and the VA for the audio book is really good. I think its hard to class what kind of book it is but the rivalry between Trazyn and Orikan is well thought out and has a lot of depth.
Thanks! Will add it to the Audible wishlist!
@@the_kieran_showIt's a comedic buddy-cop, hate-bromance heist story that happens to be set in 40k. Its fucking amazing.
Read Infinite and Divine because it gives Necrons personality. Also they are just two little old men that are willing to destroy worlds to accomplish the equivalent of stubbing someone's toe.
We totally will now!
@@the_kieran_show during some of your combat patrol challenges, it actually reminds me of you two hahahahaha
Interested to see this kind of breakdown for each army
That's the plan! We'll be doing one of these videos for each new codex release during 10th edition. Every previous release is already on CZcams! 😁
I priced mine out because I have been buying it slowly since 7th. My current army would be $1400 if I had bought it all at once. 30 Destroyers (18 Lokhust, 9 Lokhust heavies, 3 lords), 2x3 Tomb Blades, 3x5 Lychguard, 3 Tomb Stalkers
Good grief that's alot of thicc robots!
@@the_kieran_show it is super effective if you can play it correctly. It wipes most non-terminator units with ease. And the fact that the majority of your army has 8+” of movement is ridiculous
So I've read a couple of the Sisters books to get the background lore for my faction down, then read Infinite and the Divine. I found myself thinking while reading Infinite and the Divine that it would recommend it to my friends who weren't into 40k because it was a genuinely good sci-fi book that just happened to be set in the Warhammer universe.
People really love I&TD! I think we need to get reading it asap. It may just spur us on enough to finish our Necron force too.
I pity anyone getting into necrons going forward. Definitely waited too late in terms of finances. Theres still relatively cheap units on the second hand market, they just arent as cheap as they were in 9th. To make it worse, they also have seen a dramatic decrease in box sets. When I started the 40k hobby back in late 2020 there were still multiple boxsets available from 8th edition, on top of that 9th gave us more box sets. I amassed just under 8k points of necrons mostly from boxsets, spending around $1.5k total. A majority of that money was indomitus, 3 different battleforces, and the apocalypse box.
Currently the only discount boxes are the new combat patrol, the royal court set, and the killteam. The old combat patrol, boarding patrol, 2 start collect box, and indomitus box and its smaller versions are still available you just have to do some research and hobbying hunting locally and second hand to find them. Pretty much all of them are marked up in price but still give some type of discount as compared to buying things seperately, even the Indomitus box.
Yeah they have certainly got more expensive. Even more so as the copies of the Imperium magazine dried up. Indomitus was such an amazing box for them, hopefully we get a another christmas box for them this year!
@@the_kieran_show I hope so! Id be curious to see what GW would theme their battleforce around. Necrons are one of the handful of factions left that havent gotten these new type of battleforces with the big centerpieces or major character in them. Maybe the void the dragon or if they really wanted to go all out they could do the silent king himself. They could go really bonkers and just throw a whole tesseract vault in there for the wow factor.
Love the idea of an absolute mad lad starting Necrons by picking up the Silent King as their first kit.
Imagine 😂
Flayed ones were amazing in 9th. Cheap unit that could depstrike, hide and do actions, and hold area. You just never put them in combat. Ran 2 units every game.
Yeah it was a shame you didn’t run them in combat as they are so iconic
I'll have you know the Necrons do have some fabulous minis on stilts: Jimmy Longlegs the Reanimator, and Daddy Longlegs the Doomstalker.
Ah our mistake 😂
i startet in 9th with Necrons
and to this day i have never even considered buying a Psychomancer
all other 3 ar way better
But the skull thing is so cool! Truthfully we would have gone with a different cryptek if we had the points spare
Do you have a closet full of Nirvana shirts or do you just do a lot of laundry?
(Jk love you Kierans)
Hahaha, its one the greatest bands of all time! But we tend to record for than one video at a time so that's why there is a wardrobe overlap :D
Always wanted to try paint necrons, just worried I would get bored painting metal all the time?
Totally understand that, but the metal on Necrons is so easy to nail and I think if you add flashes of colour to the shoulders that can really help. If you take a look at the necron army we did, we really found that the red helped keep the motivation up!
@@the_kieran_show I really liked how you did the red, maybe necrons with a lick of paint that's all scratched up could look good!
