I ran this race when I was 17 years old in 1998. As a kid from Indiana, I found this race while looking through the most recent Runners World Magazine (back when they used to have local road races posted towards the back). They had it listed as a 10k. I signed up the day of the race. Didnât know until I was half way into the race, that it was roughly a 10k up and a 10k back down. One of the hardest runs I had done at that time, but a great memory. My mom later sewed the race shirt in a quilt, so I still have the shirt
So cool to hear your story
No elite films themselves during any race these days at the quality that you do. Thank you Seth! Giddy up!
Heck ya
Will keep striving!
Thatâs me at 14:49. My family really enjoyed seeing you out there Seth! Congratulations on another great race - onward, upward and some pretty good downward too!
So how many times? Did you go back and look?
@@1519Spring oh yes, itâs only been four times for me - 2016, 17, 19 and 2024. I didnât realize it had been so long since the last time. Thereâs a lot to see in the San Juans, and itâs definitely worth the trip. Magical place.
I raced Silverton Alpine 50k on saturday, which was an amazing experience as a visitor from Norway đłđŽ! I also had the pleasure to watch your amazing race with such a strong finish đȘ
I love the long segment with no music. Just the sounds of your effort. Such controlled breathing. You are amazing, Seth.
Great video Seth!! Amazing you can put in that kind of effort running and video it and then do a great job of editing it. I have been following your journey for years now through all your ups and down and am amazed how you always bounce back after the setbacks, along with encouraging others to do the same. All that being said, as a father of an NYU film school graduate who is still editing after 20 years (the latest with Dreamworlds), he would say you need to be more critical of your editing. "Don't fall in love with your own work", be ruthless in cutting what in the end may not really be necessary in conveying what you are trying to say. I think all your videos are great and unlike anything anyone is doing, but.... 30% shorter with tighter editing and they would be at another level. I hope this doesn't seem overly critical but I also think you might be open to suggesting that might make what you are doing even better. Also, love the family! I'm now a grandparent of a 4 and 6 year old and trying to fit in watching them with my own running (yesterday a 12 mile run along the CD/CT above the Monarch Ski area), and working on my own photography! But living in Poncha Springs after years in the front range has been a great blessing. I have no doubts you will navigate this roller coaster of a life Seth and I hope you will keep sharing it with all of us in DGR!!!
Great to see you back in the sweet spot racing. These are the videos I look forward to most. Keep on trucking.
racing again this weekend!
Just saw this video on my feed. Great footage and inspiring. I have a trail race 1/2 marathon tomorrow, here in San Diego up Cuyamaca mountain 6,493 feet , I have hiked it many times but never running up and down it. This was the motivation I needed đ! Thank you!
Bravo and congratulations Sethvthe Goat for winning the 2nd place! And congratulations as well for taking a footage of your epic race in the iconic mountain/trail of Leadville. It's just amazingly beautiful.đ€©đ
Thanks Seth for another great vlog and taking us with you on the top and back. Downhill monsterđ...
Congratulations!!
What a nice shooting films you do, this is passion Seth!! Nice running film, great effort!!
man i love hearing elite athletes in the red.. they suffer too! GG
Oh Gosh, those hills and the technical terrain...seems really hard, but You did your best. Great job.
Always inspiring, brother.
Makes me want to get back up on the Calico Trail near Rico--most beautiful place I have ever been in late July when the alpine tundra is in full bloom.
I ran up Mt. Pierce in the White Mountains. Not a race but woke up on vacation and decided to head to the mountains. First time in the White Mountains and was a great experience.
Kendall Mountain 12th place this past weekend, first time doing it!
I decided to watch this video and really enjoyed it. I used to live in southwest CO so seeing the area brought back great memories. I hope to volunteer someday at that particular race, we'll see. Congrats on a well-run race and 2nd place!
Holy rockamole! Filming and crushing the race at the same timeâŠI would have wiped out up there. Congrats! đ€
Awesome Seth đȘđŸđȘđŸđđŸââïžđđŸââïž
This was a very good video
Great fun video as always Seth! So good to see you racing! And the end message was very needed right now! đ congrats on the place!
Great job Seth, good to see your summer mountain racing season is well underway, two good results recently!
Congrats on the great race. Iâm glad to see you racing again and intrigued that youâre doing races much closer together. You used to be pretty strict regarding your taper etc. Suits me though, races are fun :) I wish I did them more often myself!
great video!!!!!! congrats and you looked dang strong
Gives me hope for my PP marathon attempt in September. Going to be epic! Glad youâre back!
Cam won the Vail HillClimb the day before Kendall which is impressive
Itâs for the children to witness and admire. Well worth for their future
Glad you had a great race! (Thatâs me in the registration tent handing out bibsđ) Hope to see you back next year!
You're the best Mtn Momma! Thanks for being there to make the process smooth!
Seth back to racing! Gotta love it man!
Ran Kendall Sunday. That terrain is no joke!
Worth the wait! Better than any reality TV show. Congratulations and thank you for sharing your story.
To be honest the 'no spills' made me think you ran a race with a cup where you can't spill it to finish. Aside from that what a beautiful place to run.
RESPECT!! Wow man I was tired just listening to your breathing! I NEVER breath this hard on a race⊠and maybe I should⊠Very inspiring Seth. No one else does this.
Awesome job Seth!!đđ
Excellent job Seth! Great video footage. Your neighbor from Thornton. Thank you for sharing your passion. Stay strong!!
Great effort, Seth!
Awesome video, Seth đ
Good Job!!
Awesome running Seth Congrats podium finish Andyâs for podium finish ? Yessss!
Nice work! Congratulations
Great video.
Amazing Seth.. Congrats..
What a beautiful place you live seth
Ran that baby in 2019, shes a beaut!
Congratulations Sethđ
One of my favorite methods for racing is Pac-Man, when youâre in the pack, just tag someone and work to pass them, onto the next.
Congratulations
thanks!
The raw footage in this is fantastic
The hair's looking great man!
Did the Silver Rush 50 miler on Saturday. Beat my time from last year by 5 minutes, but was hoping to be under 10 hours, ended at 10:33. Had some stomach issues and just didnât have it on the day. Beautiful race though and an amazing day.
I wonder whether lactic acid builds up or is the oxygen the limiting factor?
I ran the Firecracker 4k here in State College. A bit slower than last year but I'm not working on speed so i was fine with the time.
Great running Seth, enjoyed that video đ
QD: ran the Great Norh 10k (UK) this weekend đ ran a PB 40:59 đđ
did a 5k on a gravelly flat trail along the C&O canal. It was very hot and humid and I ran 1:30 slower than my PR. Good enough for 3rd but gone blown away by a guy pushing a stroller lol
As soon as I saw that it was kendall moutain I thought isn't that were he fell and cut his knee in 2020. Sorry you had another fall!
Ran the Firecracker 5000 5k finished 21st in my age group. Not awesome but got to share race with my son!
I love that opening audio track. What is it?!
Raced the Limberlost Forest 56K. 22nd overallâŠ1st guy over 50! đ
What is your heart rate getting up to in these?
168-172 ish â€â€â€â€
Are you going to race Imogene too?
Unlikely this year but a bucket list for sure
@@SethJamesDeMoor ah dang, Iâll be racing it. Would love to meet you sometime.
25th!
7+8=15
đ
Right there alongside you this weekend! Dewa and I did the Silverton Alpine Marathons Duo and Kendall bit harder than ever with a previous days race in our legs! It was great finally dropping into you afterwards! Dewa; âWow, Seth is very approachable,â! đ
Oh, you were actually the first ârunnerâ cuz both Cam and Noah are SkiMo/Nordic ski racers who just run in the summer for skiing, and that âkidâ you passed running down in 2nd was Durango local and 2X Olympic MTBâr Howard Grotts whose injured from cycling and just jumped into the race for cross trainingâŠ(thereâs fit, then? Thereâs âDurango fitâ!) đ
hope you check out the link I sent you for Kennebec, would love to see you get the âWâ and get your kids some more Andys!
Head bowed for all your inspiration from the high San Juans!
