When Osimhen was bought by Napoli in 2020 many said it was a colossal waste of money. All is history now. Osimhen does not just score goals, he leads the attack. He’s difficult to lose matches with such a player. Scouts and football managers know that; not bloggers nor mere fans
They paid €75m for him, so they're looking to make around about a €25m profit in terms of transfer fees, but when you factor in that he was originally on €125k/week when he joined in 2020 and has signed a contract putting him on double that (so €250k/week) in December that means they'll have also shelled out €21m on his contract from 2020 until December 2023 and another €6m between now and the summer that means they'll have actually lost €2m on a player that has been so injury prone that they've only played over 2,000 minutes once in their 4 seasons at the club and only netted over 20 league goals once, last season.
But "mere fans" can't do any research for themselves, can they? That would be impossible.

Biggest concerns are English clubs overpaying so much for players that when they consistently get players that stop working out, they start to take massive losses for inflating the market. And now smaller clubs who spent to compete will be in major major debt forcing either a closed off league like rugby premiership or the top English clubs joining the super league because they can afford to take the loss.

Personally I am not convinced Oshimen is an elite striker he has only had 1 high scoring season in his career and that is in Serie A, that exaggerates the quality of athletic players because Italian players in general are not athletic. He has said Chelsea is his dream move because he was a Chelsea fan growing up and Drogba was his idol, but he could become another Lukaku, a Chelsea fan with Drogba as his idol who flops at Chelsea. I think he is another overpriced Serie A player who flop outside of Italy.
