Sorry I completely disagree with your suggestion of giving gripe water and sugar to your baby. No paediatrician recommends you to give gripe water. Allow it to go by itself naturally. The only solution to hiccups is either burp your baby for 5 minutes or after few moments try to breastfeed him/her. Hiccups aren't a serious issue unless they are recurrent or occurring for long time. Consult your paediatrician if problem persists.

@@victorkar1990 Absolutely yes. It is harmful for the baby because many gripe water brands contain ingredients such as sugar, Sodium bicarbonate which eventually reduces the immunity in babies. Instead of gripe water, you can burp your baby, do stomach massage, give cycling massage of babies' legs. Even if problem persists, if you feel that your baby is colic or fuzzy, consult your paediatrician, they may give drops to your baby such as colic aid drops. That is enough for the baby.
