The battle is FAST APPROACHING for the Wano Arc and the Oden flashback seems to be almost over. We are expecting a LOT from Zoro in the next sections of Wano, especially for the fights, and things are going to get intense! Zoro has powered up with Enma and has improved his usage of the sword with a few days of training, so soon we are going to see Zoro use it in action. This One Piece discussion is my take on what we may see from/with Zoro at the End and After Wano Kuni Arc.

Zoro is the only crew member that regularly trains, we always see him lifting weights and stuff on the ship, so it'd make sense that Zoro would get stronger even if he doesn't get a crazy powerup or something
Yonis Ali Sanji had to get the suit to be able to keep up with them, I guess Is somewhat fair seeing how it has a backstory
Zoro has also not had a real balls out fight since the time skip. He has been injured by a rival crew's number 2 (killer) while fighting another opponent at the same time. He had trouble pinning pica down, but one shot him as soon as he was isolated. But he has not once resorted to using his best skills in even one fight. Oda has even seen it necessary to need zoro with injuries/toxic food/etc for nearly every fight. Honestly i see zoro as being above luffy for the first couple arcs after the time skip, and now that luffy has finally caught back up zoro should be able to be properly utilized.
@@loftymicrobe424 Luffy has always been above Zoro, even in the beginning because people don't realize how physically powerful you need to be in order to even do what luffy does, like gumngum pistol and bazooka. He was a beast since his first appearance, no matter what point of the story you go to, Luffy could probably beat Zoro in a fight, they aren't equal, and if they were Zoro has said multiple times that he would either take over the crew or leave, if he didn't feel like Luffy was this powerful man he was following, he wouldn't follow him.
@@waluigi3515 I can see where you're coming from, and I'm not trying to downplay luffy's strength. Luffy is the protagonist, of course hes a dang monster. As for zoro no not following luffy if luffy is weak, I personally never interpreted that to mean physically weak. He didn't threaten to leave after any of the times luffy has been defeated, only when luffy showed weak leadership like with Usopp not apologizing. I never took it to mean luffy has to be stronger than zoro, especially with the idea already out three that luffy's greatest strength is his ability to drawothers to him. We also have still not seen zoro fight for real, which means both that oda has been keeping his actual strength ambiguous and that he hadn't had any big blooms with his haki like luffy has. I think it makes sense for zoro to have been stronger for a while, though obviously he has since trailed behind.

Oda narratively nerfed Zoro until now. Without giving him worthy opponents. So I won't be surprised if Zoro defeated king after getting enma (cuz now he trained to improve his armament haki even more)

For real for real. It's always been portrayed Zoro and Luffy are about the same level. Without the Ryuou Luffy beat Doffy and Katakuri but now that Zoro has a power up making his CoA very strong it's not surprising he can beat the likes of Doffy, Kata and King in a very very high diff situation.

Zoro is gonna go ham this arc boi, he was lacking quality adversaries pre-Wano but Wano itself has an abundance of top TOP tier cats! Which means we finally will see him go all out which is always epic to see.
Oda, I think, said that this arc will be for Zoro and WCI arc was for Sanji. So I'm hoping for some flashbacks, some more character development and some more epic zoro moments!

it feels like people such as KoL kinda get sucked into their own head canon and forget important details like Zoro one shotting Pica and Don Chinjao wondering how someone THAT strong was only a subordinate to Luffy (implying Zoro was as impressive or moreso than Luffy was in the Colosseum). Law was helpless against Fujitora's relatively weak gravity well and was implied to either be greatly injured or killed outright if Fujitora turned up the power in time, meanwhile Zoro was able to actively resist a gravity well capable of making a massive crater in the ground AND force Fujitora to guard an Air Slash. He probably thinks Sanji is weak too and forgot that Sanji blitzed/injured Oven without him realizing wtf was going on, was superior to his siblings and was fighting Raid Suit Judge equally despite never having fought against someone with a raid suit before and being pressured to hold back because of Zeff potentially being killed.
Listening to him talk about how strong Zoro and Sanji are, you'd think they were minor characters who were lightyears behind even base Luffy.

kinda sorta but not really. There definitely IS a distinction between people being Swordsman, being Samurai and being just some dude with a sword. Despite the fact he used a sword, Gol D. Roger was never called The Greatest Swordsman in the world, at least as far as we know. There's probably some criteria that exists either in Oda's head or in the One Piece universe that distinguishes some strong dude with a sword from an actual Swordsman. It's implied that being able to create permanent Black Blades is the highest sign of swordsmanship (only demonstrated by Ryuuma and Mihawk himself) so that criteria definitely exists.
By that logic, Mihawk is stronger than Big Mom because they both fight with swords. 😕

There's a difference between someone like mihawk and Zoro who's main strength come from swords and someone like fujitora and big mom who use swords but their main strength is devil fruit abilities....those two can use sticks instead and will still be able to do most of their things

At the Navy meeting when they revealed the yonko bounties, they said Shanks crew is the most well rounded of them all, so his crew mates bounties and strengths probably aren't nearly as far from his own as like the other yonko. With that in mind, I think the straw hats will be similar. Luffy will always be the strongest of them obviously but Zoro, Sanji, and now Jinbe will not be as far below him as say Katakuri was to Big Mom

My honest thoughts on the top 4 bounties of the Strawhats after Wano:
Luffy: 2.2 billion (assuming credit for beating Kaido is shared with others)
Zoro: 1.2 billion
Usopp: 1 billion (I believe Usopp will defeat the Numbers based on a lie he told pre-timeskip)
Sanji: 935 million (for whatever reason, when the entire crew gets bounty increases...Oda makes Sanji’s the 4th highest. Maybe Wano changes that trend)
nah, Sanji is maxing out at around 500M. Above that threshold he needs to have Town-buster level attacks to compete and he simply doesnt. Hes far from it actually.

It’s in chapter 221 and 222. The Strawhats see the giant shadows of the skypians at the end of 221 and at the start of 222 Usopp says they could have beat them because he beat 10 of them by himself. I know many believe the lie will happen in Elbaf but considering the Numbers are giants who are always silhouettes to appear like shadows...I believe Usopp’s lie is referring to them and he will find a way to defeat 10 of them.

Zoro and Sanji need some real post-timeskip feats. Neither have done anything that puts them on the tier of the Yonkou Commanders and that needs to change.
I feel like they're gonna have mini fights with the 6 headliners just to show they're not scrubs then have a balls out fight (similar to luffy vs katakuri, although I think katakuri was stronger at the time luffy pulled through but in this case I think they can pull the finishing blows)
Zoro has Enma now and I think that greatly improved his haki (maybe even to stage 2, not like luffys stage 3 but ya)
Sanji has the raid suit which fixes his biggest problem, DURABILITY and I have a feeling has observation haki is gonna get a major bump this arc
I mean Luffy was getting his colon cleansed by Cracker and was forced to use Gear 4th just to damage his biscuit soldiers. Nami even comes to the realization that they’d been underestimating just how strong Yonkou commanders could be. Luffy eventually won and went on to beat Katakuri after massively upgrading his Observation Haki. It’s not a surprise that Zoro and Sanji don’t have similar feats to that so soon after Luffy.
What are you talking about? Zoro defeating Pica the way he did is easily a Commander level feat. He cut a mountain in half, twice....

At no point does anyone, not even Kidd himself, imply that Killer is weaker than normal because of his weapon choice or because he was under Kaido's control. On the contrary, Kaido's statement that he figured Luffy would be a powerful subordinate indicates that those broken by him and his men retain their power and don't just magically become "weaker".

Vergo was one of the top 4 executives of doflamingo as was pica(which was taken out quite easily by zoro), so by scalin zoro under vergo is kinda stupid. Also because zoro hasn't been tested during post-timeskip, you cannot realy scale zoro to other top tiers. This is why after receiving enma, training with it and if not masterin ryo but atleast being able to control it, zoro should be able to defeat atleast 3rd commander when only scaling to pica(and this should be just a tad below doflamingo). With kyoshiro it would be quite stupid to battle him(from zoros and kyoshiros perspective), because they both are fighting for the same side. So i think zoro will battle king but he would have some help in the fight(for example from someone like killer or hawkins). As for orochi he should be taken out by the scabbards because of the grudge for lord chaden.

I seen that last Reverie and when this topic came up (how strong Zoro really is) you got lost in head-cannon powerscaling arguments, and I prefer to just look at the overall narrative and think: "Oda is saving Zoro's real strength for a certain moment".

I don't find that Zoro fighting and beating someone like King is too weird given the fact that he hasn't been pushed at all since the time skip. We can't really know where his power is really at right now.
It's safe to assume he's well below Doflamingo, as he couldn't cut the strings. And Doflamingo is well below Katakuri, who is a First Yonko Commander.

@@visoth7791 using this logic, Doflamingo is stronger than any admiral because not even Fujitora could break through or permanently stop the cage. In case my point isn't clear, Doflamingo's bird cage is his ultimate attack and Zoro being unable to do what not even an Admiral could do isn't a sign of him being weaker than Doflamingo.

The narrative implies that all the executives are on the same tier of power (stronger than all the lower officers but weaker than Doflamingo himself). People seem to been taking the fact he occupied the Heart Seat as evidence that he was Doffy's right hand man and therefore, the strongest executive but Rocinante ALSO occupied the heart seat and Law was to eventually occupy the Heart seat as well despite being WAYYYY weaker than Vergo until recently.
People also like to use their headcanon that Law> Zoro and therefore, Vergo> Pica which also just... doesn't make any fucking sense. This is why I choose to gauge stuff using the narrative instead of creating all this headcanon. Oda bases the story largely off the narrative and not really based on made of power scaling.

it's a bit back and forth tbh. In some instances, Luffy and Zoro have been portrayed as near-equals (the Whiskey Peak fight and Zoro taking Luffy's pain in Thriller Bark being two primary examples). In others, Zoro has been portrayed as being closer to Sanji (Enies Lobby, taking down the pacifista post-time skip, etc).
