Many people in the One Piece fandom are expecting A LOT from Eustass Kid in Wano. Ever since his introduction, many people thought highly of Kid's character and what he would do in the story. Finally, in the current Wano Arc, Kid is getting some of the content many people wanted to see... but is it possible that Kid's character can be on the same level as Law's Character? Let alone Luffy who has been SKYROCKETING over the latest arcs. This is the arc where Kid shines brightly or fades away.

Kid is definitely one of the coolest looking characters in One Piece.
I agree, great design, great color scheme. And on a personal note I like the character archetype when used in battle shounen manga. And Magneto powers on top of that? So yes, a Kid fanboy for sure :P I hope in the end game he becomes a worthy Yonko rival of Pirate King Luffy, and not just thrown away. A fanboy can dream.

I have a theory that Hawkins will end up joining Kidds crew. His whole aesthetic goes along perfectly with kidds punk rock theme and it would make Kidds crew a lot stronger with three super Novas. Also possible Caribou joins too so this arc Kidd could definitely get a crew upgrade

The plot is why people feel Kidd has to prove himself, he's plenty strong and has fans, people just want to see him in the same light as law and luffy story wise.
The ingredients are there for Kidd to become a legit rival. However, there's a strong feeling among all of us that Oda wants to finish off OP soon. There is no time for Kidd to develop into a legit rival if that's the case as it would need its own arc prior to BB fight.
If Kidd wants to actually compete with Luffy, the end of this arc has to be a power grab in terms of members for his crew. He needs to swallow up Hawkins into his crew as well as another fairly powerful fighter (similar to how Dressrosa arc allowed the grand fleet to develop a relationship with Luffy over the experience and to then follow him). Otherwise, how can anybody take his crew seriously compared to Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, and Jinbei? That's without including the other SH being better than the nobodies on his crew right now, and without having a grand fleet.
I always had the notion that Kid would end up picking up members from the aftermath of the Wano War, like members from The flying Six or atleast some of Kaido's unseen associates.

Luffy's crew is always praised as being super impressive, hence why the crew always has those "blushing from being praised" gags. Nami for example has a yonkou's attack (Zeus). Luffy is so far above his peers at the moment it’s kinda sad to see. His crew is fucking stacked with hitters unlike the rest of the SuperNovas. The least Oda can do is show us that Kid is close to Luffy’s level combat wise and in regards to their drive to find the One Piece.
I already posted my own comment, but my theory is that Hawkins and possibly caribou will join Kidds crew this arc giving them a major power boost. Because then Kidd would have three supernovas on his creew including himself, Killer and hawkins

Lemon Liar I can see Caribou joining but not so sure about Hawkins. Depending on his motivation it’s debatable. If he’s aiming for the One Piece which I’m guessing he is then I think he’d act with whatever option gives him the highest rate of success. If he joined kid based on that it wouldn’t make sense because out of everyone there Luffy has 100% chance of finding it and Kid would be like 50%. Hope that made sense 😁
He's got one of the most powerful abilities. If he masters his devil fruit he can most likely control the iron in individuals body I would go as far as an awakening could control the earth's magnetic field. Boosting kid is basically easy for oda.

The reason Law is so highly favored by fans is because he has Main charaxter potential he could get his own series.

Carlos Williams oh strength wise I think (especially Kid) they can rival him for a while. Kid and Law should reach at least Admiral lvl by the end of the story. I meant more so in terms of reputation or the race for the One piece cause the Strawhats are just on another level in terms of crews. Hopefully by the end of Wano Kid or Law are able to recruit someone strong to join them.

Think about it. Law and his crew are friendly with the Straw Hats, but they are rivals still. Similar to Whitebeard and Roger.
I expect that if Luffy surpasses Kid, either through beating him or taking Kaido down before Kid, then I can see Kid having a begrudging respect for Luffy, similar to Shiki's respect to Roger for having defeated him. If Luffy were to one day go down Roger's path of surrendering to the Marines to be executed, Kid storming Marineford like Shiki once did is something I can easily imagine.

I have believed for sone time now that Kidd will get credit for what happens in Wano in a similar manner to what happened to Luffy after Whole Cake Island.
Calling it now, the connection between Drake and Law will trip up the Strawhats in a way which will make either Law or Kidd much more prominent in the eyes of those outside Wano.

Like sure they were portrayed as rivals of more or less equal strength at sabaody.
But Luffy trained for 1,5 years under Rayleigh who teached him all the important basics in Haki, giving him a heads start to all others. After that he learned future seight against Katakuri und now advanced armament from Hyogoro.
It is highly unbelievable for me that Kidd learned all that just by his own without teachers. Sure he had tough fights against Big Moms and Shanks crews, but Luffy had arguably fights at least as tough as that.
So for me there is only one possibility that Kidd would be at Luffys level.
That would be if he already has his awakening. Everything else would be unrealistic.
@@CheerioCheerio Haki wise Kid and Luffy are equal not to confuse it with Haki mastery Luffy has that down no discussion. Kid could learn the basics and the groundwork of Haki from fighting others with or without haki you don't need a teacher to learn those things.
As stated the best way to learn Haki is through battle and for someone like Kid who literally took his crew into the new world with no training that alone speaks, from that alone it sounds like Kid, Killer and the rest of the crew was increasing their Haki skills without knowing.
Don't forget the series you're reading, realism isn't commonly used in this story alot nowadays.

think about how old WB and Big Mom were when they started their crews. Kidd is 23, he already has a very powerful crewmate in Killer. The Yonko's had decades to build their crews.
I imagine Kidd might take some of Kaido's goons to beef up his army.

Not to mention Law studied under Doffy and learned his moves and had intel on Doffy and shared it with Luffy while Kid had none of these and still managed to tangle with heavy hitters.

After this arc, Kid should be at least top 10 favorites in a popularity poll considering Law was #2 once.
I have high expectations for Kidd. He has a very strong df and cool character design. I believe that he will play a major role in Wano.

It's worth noting that Kidd didn't have the character development remotely close in quality and amount as Law had. And maybe it's noteworthy to mention, we don't know how far along any of the other crews are at obtaining information from the ponegliffs. I'm of the opinion that Kidd's will be a passing character in the near future or, rather, the equivalent of what Chinjao was on Dress Rosa---he'll be someone to fight with the Straw Hats against Kaido's crew and. like Law on Dress Rosa (and even now in Wano), their bounties will rise. However, unlike Kidd, there is no character development for Kidd, so, if not disappear it's likely there will be a consistent neutral or negative trajectory Kidd's character will follow. Now, that's anyone's guess. My head-cannon-hope is for Kidd's story against Shank's crew to be explained, then I hope that's the end of Kidd's major involvement such that Kidd is just like Urouge or another minor character from the Worst Generation.
I just want the following stories to be developed, in order: Dragon's history and the rise of the Revolutionary Army, shank's history (at least something twice as long as Big Mom's history), the void century, and completing the journey to take down the other Yonkou and finding the one piece. I'm starting to have a bad feeling the Oda won't cover the Revolutionary Army and that's kind of sad. The whole triangles-every-theory relies on some kind of balance and, as it would likely make sense, the government will hopefully topple at end of the One Piece. If that happens it will likely be due to some simultaneous effect of Dragon taking down the corruption of the World Nobles and Luffy finding the one piece.
I really only think Oda can finish this story in 5--7 years if he introduces another time skip, but I don't see why it could sensibly happen. As it stands now, there is too little momentum behind Luffy's power development. I don't think he can beat Kaido and I don't think a combination of any other characters WITHOUT Law could either. Law's Room power is, perhaps, the only power that can hurt or takedown Kaido because it's not going to be Kidd or Luffy's strength, charm, or Will of D; Zoro, maybe, but that's out of left-field for a sensible plot development as of now.

1:14 I DID! I PREDICTED LAW WAS PART OF THE WILL OF D! That is LITERALLY the inspiration to my username. Once it was confirmed that Law was part of the Will of D, I changed my username!
Its obvious that Kidd’s gonna become a rival to Luffy, lol. When Luffy is around Law, Law ends up being dragged around Luffy and has to succumb to his “will”. Kidd on the other hand has always been portrayed as one of Luffy’s true rivals. When they come together, their wills clash leaving them at a stand still.
Its not even a question of whether Kidd will be given good portrayal in this arc, its damn near a fact he’s gonna show us something that is beyond Law’s strength but slightly weaker than Luffy. This isnt really a matter of discussion, its something Oda’s been trying to tell us and will be put on display in the coming chapters. There’s a reason he never will listen to Luffy, had an initially had a higher bounty than him, and killed people who talked down on his ambitions. He was and still is supposed to be a true contestant for the One Piece. Just give it some time, this will be the first real fight we’ve seen him have in the New World
Don't know why King is sleeping on Kidd, he can not place Kidd on the same level as Luffy even if it kills him. His reasoning is flawed too, why would Oda hype up Kidd as the biggest rival of Luffy among all of the Supernova, it wouldn't make sense if he doesn't do something BIG soon. And King is underestimating Kidd's fruit, magnetism is extremely OP, top 5 paramecia fruits.

King, you are severely underestimating Kidds Devil Fruit Power, Magnetism is one of the most powerful abilities you could have, so Kidd killing Kaido is nowhere near a stretch.

I think Kidd's biggest possible win in this arc is to steal Kaido's polneglyph and head to elbaf. Then Luffy will have to catch him. Thats what he gotta do.

When Oda is writing, He's writing with confident. Take notice when he keep pushing a certain characters down to the bottom. You'll know damn sure that he have something big to payoff. That pretty much how Oda make a characters shine.
The example like Sanji that seem like he's being troll for the entire story have something either characters or feat wise to payoff in one of the best arc or Ussop in Dressrosa where he keep running away from the fight and then after that arc he came back with a title God and a haki.
Remember before Law does a mountain range cut? He got beat up by vergo like a several chapter... When Big Mom simply got washed up and lost her memory (People bitching for months) then Oda make Big Mom an alliance with Kaido!! You see, Oda always have an intent hidden when he shows a characters losing a lot or look bad a lot. He just have something for them to grow out of. I mean Luffy been losing in the Marineford saga for years and now look at him. So don't worry i'm pretty sure Kidd will get that treatment since He's been through a lot and he's one of the most hype supernovas and one of the closet rival to Luffy. I mean look at freaking Bege even him got so much respect from the fandom.

@@dariuswhittle238 there is a misconception here that zoro and sanji will get a solo win, yet alone a fight. We have 3 captains in this arc. And 2 powerful right hand men in zoro and killer. So that makes atleast 6 powerful characters that can fight a commander (luffy, kid, law, zoro, killer--maybe I can include raid suit sanji)
My point is, with so many powerhouses on the scene, why would Luffy's commanders (zoro, sanji and jinbe) get all of the prime time fights? The commanders on the scene are king(rank 1), Queen (Rank 2), smoothie (rank 2), and Jack (rank 3). And I don't think the strawhats will hog all the action. I see a bunch of 2v1 battles.

Imagine if Kidd got a crew upgrade after Wano. I can easily see Hawkins, Asura Doji, Caribou and some Tobi Roppo members joining up with him. With that bump up you can easily see his crew hanging with Luffy/ Law side.
Technically Kid supposed to be a walking Railgun. Kid's fruit needs to be fleshed out more. In any other verse magnetism is a Alpha Class power.
We only see about of Kid using his df, I'm not sure if your anime watcher or a manager reader so I don't want to spoil anything for you but we seen a bit Kid using his fruit more and I can safely confirm that Kid's fruit is electromagnetism and not magnetism.

People never get the full context of Oda telling us why Kid's bounty was higher than Luffys originally... Kid fought strong Pirates too and killed civilians.. Shakky says it's so high because Kid would wipe out civilians, but when we have the auction house scene with Luffy Kid and Law, Kid tells us specifically why... After Luffy says hell be Pirate King, Kid is taken back and Killer blocks a marine for him, Kid goes on to say that whenever he said that along the way he got laughed at, and they killed anyone who laughed at his dream... The civilian casualties were a consequence of them making fun of his dream so Kid was murdering civilians and pirates alike on his way to Sabaody

I agree this is a make or break arc for Kid.
Luffy for me has the strongest mode or special move and by the end of this arc will be clearly ahead. However I think we have to factor in how Law's moves (counter shock, injection shot, gamma knife) weakened Doffy and still he had to intervene to rescue Luffy when his haki ran out... Luffy vs Doffy in a 1v1 may not go as it did in Dressrosa. Luffy needed to improve his armament haki and improve his control and flow to more efficiently use Bound Man.
Based on how Kid has been portrayed so far he should be close to Luffy and has had his own set of training while imprisoned... I doubt he knows Ryo, that said I think he puts up a better fight compared to his first one with Kaido.
I think by the end of Wano he would've notched a standout feat or two considering this is gonna be a war, there are two Yonkos plus their commanders.

Also King keep in mind, when the three of them went on the attack they had to move a distance over the sea. Law can teleport with Room. Kid can use his magnetism to pull himself over the sea. However, Luffy's only strong yet mobile form is G4. Strength was definitely being shown in that moment, highlighted by the close ups, but it helps you lose track of the actual situation they were in. This is a fault of the mangas pacing issues but I guarantee once its animated they'll be adding in some cannonballs/enemy attacks as the captains make their way to destroy that ship

I agree. Let say Luffy and Kid are almost at the same level pre-timeskip. If luffy is not stronger when he take the time to train for 2 years while kid charge straight for NW.. then it would undermine Rayleigh n luffy effort to pause n train. Luffy should and must be stronger because he pause. As for Shanks, since shanks did mention that he want to visit laughtale in the flashback, I could see he teaming up with luffy to go there.. alliances maybe.. :p

My headcanon is that Luffy and Kidd fight on Elbaf/some other island for the right to take on Shanks. Could also see him teaming up with Blackbeard to take down Shanks but I'm not sure allying with Yonko is his style, so I could see his kill getting stolen by BB and then Kidd going after him alongside Luffy.
If Shanks has the final road Poneglyph, he could get himself a copy too (which I assume he will do while on Onigashima in regards to Kaido's poneglyph). This opens up the possibility of him attacking Zou or attempting to steal the last rubbing from the Straw Hats, which either way could lead to Kidd being a part of that final race for Raftel, where I imagine he falls short thanks to either Luffy or Blackbeard taking him out.
