I will never understand why this song wasn’t on TKOL. It would’ve fit perfectly.
It's a good song, yes, but I'm pretty sure TKOL and In Rainbows were supposed to be concise and small albums. A 7 minute song on what's supposed to be a short album is kinda dumb.
I'm not sure it would work too well when Separator is also on it. They're both great but 2 optimistic-sounding songs on one album is a lot for Radiohead haha
i think @crungus is right that, basically, two happy radiohead songs on one album would've been unthinkable. And i see why separator fit better as an album closer. However, man, supercollider is such a banger. It's a really unique addition to the catalogue. It deserved better.

Just when you think the best is over and the already amazing song will end, Colin comes in at 4:20 with perhaps one of the best basslines ever written. It just carries the song to the next level.
