Cyberpunk 2077 Deserves So Much More (Story, Characters, and CD Projekt Red)

  • Cyberpunk 2077 may just be a masterpiece. But that doesn't mean it isn't of the biggest and buggiest games of all time. CD Projekt Red lied in many ways to its gaming and game industry fans, but the RPG game cyberpunk 2077 is one of the best games of all time.
The story, characters, gameplay, and set pieces make this game one of the greatest deep and engaging stories told in a long long time in the video game medium. Cyberpunk is more about the fullfilment rather than the fun, and this is why I find it more fun when comparing Cyberpunk 2077 vs GTA5 and Cyberpunk 2077 vs Red Dead Redemption 2. Rightfully so this game has been tarnished and many people say it sucks and is horrible, but for me, I find this game to be a masked masterpiece.

@@odst123451 because it's the credits...you the player and V are different people. The story is written for the audience not the character. There's nothing wrong with providing the audience with more knowledge than the character - it's actually really common and done in a bunch of ways. Actually most of entertainment is designed to convey things to the audience that the characters are unaware of.

@@dm_ex_machina3395 V functions more as an avatar for the player than their own separate character. But it does shift back and forth.
The issue I have is the manipulation of emotion from the messages during the credits.
With TW3, Gerald’s suicide didn’t feel manipulative because the player had no control of said action. It had because of decisions the player made during the story but it is clearly Geralt’s decision. V choosing suicide is the players decision, not V’s.

I also love Cyberpunk the best game I have ever played. I played it through on all three systems there were bugs but other games have them too, so it didn't bother me. What I found was a game that fully connected to me and I can't stop playing it, even after completing the story and every thing else. There is so much to discover still. Exploring is an important part of the game. It is just too bad so many are so influenced by the few haters that they just can't see it. What is great about this game also is it't connection to our world. We are watching in real time the Corpos stomping on everyone. This isn't another of many games where the main character isn't trying to stop the end of the world, V is just trying to save him or herself in a world that won't let her do that.

(For those that haven't played it yet don't read this) I liked it, I just beat it with the Badlands pathway, I had to choose to live and put the psyche in a soul prison or go back to earth and live for another 6 months, that's deep. In real life people face these type of situations all the time, should I try to live at all costs or just live the best I can until it's my time. Story is also haunting, as you go through it because you know you could die.

I think that anyone familiar with CDPR before Cyberpunk 2077 knew what to expect. Yeah, the game does leave much to be desired and I was a little disappointed, but I knew going in that it would be a character focused game. That is what CDPR does best. It is a very good game, for which the hype built around it backfired; shame to see so many people not willing to give it a fair chance. The voice acting is phenomenal, the gameplay is fun, the world is massive, and the customization is excellent. I will also add that major subquest and minor sidequest are absolutely phenomenal. After Cyberpunk 2077 a played a number of RPGs and jRPGs and it struck me how I missed those little side quest, those mini-stories about people living and struggling in the world. Even simple quests had so much variety - save kidnapped woman, destroy competing restaurant, kidnap mob boss, steal a heavily guarded van, or fightiong cyber-psychos (and discovering how they became them in the first place) - all with mini-story to give context and provide resolution. And major side quests had very interesting story arcs of their own - like quests with Delamain or Helping the mayor candidate uncover the plot against him or Helping Judy - the list goes on.
To go back from that to mundane - "obtain 7 bear asses" - was so disheartening I cannot stress it enough.

It never really hit for me just how great the experience of playing Cyperpunk 2077 was until I hit the point of no return and I realized it all too soon it was time for V and Johnny to face their fate. All those moments of amazing character interactions flashed back before my eyes and I was stunned by how it had all been leading that meeting in Embers and what ever was to come beyond. I had to take a WALK to experience the city. I realized I'd spent the too much of the game racing from one objective to the next and I finally slowed down and walked the streets for hours going over all the relationships and experiences I'd had in NC. Those quiet moments with Panam and Judy or when Johnny actually opened up and showed his humanity. All of it preparing V to face his fate. I was completely invested when the moment of V to decide came. It was like his hopes and dreams had become my own. The ending I got left me hurt but hopeful. I've never connected with video game characters as much as I have with judy, panam, johnny, river, misty, vik, kerry, goro, and so so much more. The ambience and mood of this game is astounding, and the music is something incredible on its own. Its a real shame the true beauty of this world and this game get overshadowed by issues and faults in execution. I do concept art for games, so I constantly am just in awe with how they have designed this city and this world. This game leaves me with a feeling like no other. There's just something special about it to me. It's touched me deeply emotionally, and I'm left wanting more and wondering about possible future content and hoping with all I have that CDPR dont give up on the game and give us some expansions. Great video! It's a crazy hearing some things in this video as I remember something similar to what you expressed early on in the video, happening when No Man's Sky released. An ex-friend of mine was on Facebook and Twitter saying the game was awful and saying he regretted buying it. His wife and I were good friends, so I reached out to her asking what she thought about the game and she outright said they didn't own it. She said because of all the negativity around it, they both agreed to wait a year or so before purchasing it. So I showed her his posts on Facebook and Twitter, and she was like, "He's blatantly lying for some reason, because I assure you we don't have the game. I buy all our games, so I know we don't have it and he hasn't bought it. I mean he hasn't even had time to play it if we did because he has been working so much."
I showed him what his wife said and he flipped things around saying that he played it at his friend's house and he bought it on his friend's Playstation, which made no sense. Shortly after he blocked me from all his social media accounts. He was sitting there tearing the game down, proclaiming to own it and had not owned it nor played it himself. It frustrated me, because I saw tons of people retweeting and quote tweeting his post and it was all a lie; he deprived many people of a desire to give the game a try. I'm glad to hear someone address that, because it's really unfair and inappropriate to do to people.

Now everyone wants to act like they've always liked the game, but many are the same people who bashed on the game from day 1.
I love this game. It's honestly a masterpiece in my eyes. The characters are so well written, the emotions are raw, the setting is everything you'd expect from a dystopian "cyberpunk" theme, and the story.... the story is truly something special, & god damn if it isn't tragic & heartbreaking.
Cyberpunk 2077 is something special. I'm still sad this game never truly got the appreciation it deserves. I hope we get to play more stories in this universe. This game deserves so much more.
Thank you for your video. I'm glad you could appreciate this world & it's characters as much as I did.

    I agree. Spoilers ahead.
I thought the tension of the heist mission was incredible when it all goes wrong, and when I watched Jackie die in front of me I just sat in the car staring out the window for a while. That's real writing, real story, and real impact. When you wake up from the dead and are talking with Dr. Vector about the fact that you're going to die and you can't stop it, the agony and emotion in v's voice (I was playing a female v, I can't speak for the male version) was so powerful, real feeling and wrenching, it was genuinely upsetting, I felt the characters pain and hopelessness.
When I helped v's neighbor at the apartment down the stairs with their problems and just having that first conversation with them, it just felt so real, so present.
I've never played a game with such immersive and real feeling conversations where it really seems like I'm talking to a living person that's not just throwing out pre made dialogue. The characters and their lifelikeness is so impactful. The emotion is so pungent and well crafted.
I have only played the prologue of the game, I have only done one side quest, I didn't even finish it. And yet having experienced so little of the game I'm still so impacted and have such feelings about it. I also only played through the entire opening act of gta v. I have no impact from it, no emotion, and really no care for the game, I did not resonate with it at all.
I also hope they keep working on the game as well and make it as good as they can, because it really is amazing when you look under the surface.
Thank you for this video, I wish it had more views. You should send it straight to cd projekt so they know at least a few people like it :) maybe it'll convince them to not give up either.

Dont even know where or how to begin. I've rewritten this section over 10 times by now, because this game brings so much emotion out of me, that it's hard to form a coherent text. When it comes to what makes this game great, I feel like I could sit here all day telling you about it. So I'll try and sum up why Cyberpunk 2077 is my favorite game as well.
First things first, I have a confession to make. In the beginning, I too was a hater. I jumped on the hate vagon, for no other reason than that's what others were doing as well. But I quickly changed my mind. In fact, in some ways, it was the game's story that made me think more clearly.
The overall story and NOT just the main story of Cyberpunk 2077 is INCREDIBLY mature. All of the side missions, their stories, they're all in synch with the world of Cyberpunk, and this incredible amount of perfectly written content somehow coherently fits inside the main story, and the lore of the game. Cyberpunk (when not referring to the game) is a genre in its own that, much like gengres in literature, has its own characteristics that make it cyberpunk. You can sit down and make a list about what makes a productum cyberpunk. And productions like for example the bladerunner films, or cyberpunk-esque novels try and check certain parts of this list, depending on what they want to display and put their own spin on them. All i'm trying to say is that all things that fit in the cyberpunk genre share and repeat most of these "cyberpunk" elements yet they never get boring. And this game basically checks all the elements of this list, executing and morphing them into each other in a way, that a filmmaker or writer could only dream of. This games IS cyberpunk through and through. It displays the concept of free will, human soul, and focuses on the INDIVIDUAL in a world where individual doesn't even exist. That IS cyberpunk. And CDPR did this so perfectly, its almost annoying. The idea of Johnny's character is genius. I started the game considering him a drag, playing it safe, trying not to cross the line or mess too much with the corpos, and by the end I became a rebel, someone who though for himself, and fought corpo injustice. I became one with Johnny's ideals. I even dressed in his clothes in his style, and in the endgame i mainly drove his car( and not because i specifically wanted to, but because it organically happened that way). I BECAME him without me taking notice. Not because of the chip in my head, but because of the effect he had on me. He opened my eyes. I adopted a playstyle i had never previously done in any other game. Finally doing what I really wanted to do instead of pleasing a faction just to steer clear of unpleasent situtations. And that's the beauty of it. You can become Johnny without you noticing it, and not because of the construct but rather because of friendship. Johnny died for his ideals, and so can you. Or you can totally reject all of it and sell your soul, playing it safe, but at WHAT COST? This is the question this game is built upon and it ties perfectly into the "do we have a soul question". This is the SOUL of the game. Genius.
You can really see the developers put their hearts in this game when it comes to writing. I dont do replays. I dont rewatch movies, thats just not the type of guy i am. But here i find myself on my 3rd playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077 and there's still more to discover. And the City...There won't be a better designed city/world in gaming for a decade at least. You don't even need the open doors. You can literally spend hours just walking at a random part of the city, taking in the sights. Most players don't even stop to look up or look around, but there's a lot of beauty to be found. Because the city, and how it looks and "breathes" is in synch with the narrative as well. And the Tarot cards omg.... they aren't just for collectible hunting. They add soo much to the story. You find each card in a place where that very card recieves meaning and all of them reflect you, the FOOL and your journey. As I said, I could sit here and never finish talking about this game, so I'm forcing myself to stop now. You get the idea.
Thank you for the developers for creating a life changing experience. As a creator myself, I think if even one single person likes our creation, it was all worth it in the end. So know, that you changed one man's life and gave loads of inspiration and perspective.
And thank you Frank for being in defense of this game. I'm so happy I found a like mindend INDIVIDUAL on the internet. Your thoughts on this game are my thoughts exactly. Cheers!

When I first saw this game for pre-order, I bought it without a second thought. And when it dropped, I played through and up until after Jackie's death twice. What stopped me was IRL situations, not the early stage glitches. I never encountered issues many claimed made it unplayable.
Edgerunners made me crave starting over a third time, and truly PLAY this game. And what a beautiful state she's in now. Cyberpunk took over my life for 2 weeks straight for nearly 300 hours. I 100%'d it with the secret ending. And it affected me more than any JRPG, any story truly has.
You can tell this game was not given a fair chance, and how much was expected of it based on false information due to errors with translation. It truly suffered from being too hyped. It deserves so much more from a world of gamers that just want perfection and instant gratification.

Great video! I can't agree more with you. Hopefully as time goes on (especially with further refinements) this game receives the recognition that I think it deserves for its characters that live through this dark and existential storyline that takes place in what I think is the most impressive architecturally designed city in any video game to date. Night City itself sets a new standard for game design despite its obvious flaws.
The contrast between the over the top thrill/fame/glorification of Night City in the pre-release advertisements and the reality of night city in the game comes to mind. It was deceiving on one hand, but kind of perfect on the other when it comes to its storyline of loss, ideals of gain/status and even more loss on top of a ticking time bomb in your head. V may have friends, associates and even a love interest in this world but I found her to be a truly lonely and tragic character lost in this ugly city, with her closest friend/nemesis being said ticking time bomb. It made perfect sense for this game to have a (devastating) suicide ending, with only one out of the 6 endings having any bit of optimism.
For me, corpo female V is *the* character to play in this game, despite a couple issues.
You already have a relationship with Jackie, so it doesn't feel as forced in the 6 months later montage, especially contrasted with the circumstances of the streetkid intro where V should have no reason to like or trust this guy. Unfortunately the issue with the corpo lifepath is the tonal whiplash going from working for arasaka to a "new beginnings" character intro that was clearly created in mind for the nomad character.
Despite that, the corpo intro is the darkest and most interesting by far. For me it sets the tone of the rest of the game perfectly, and the contrast between your corpo character and the anti-corpo Johnny in your head makes for a really interesting and tense dynamic. Of course, another issue with going corpo in this game is the inconsistency between the general anti-corpo sentiment in the scripted dialogue of your character and those you associate with, and what you wish V could consistently believe in herself... I wish there were more layers to this but it's pretty cut and dry, although you could argue it creates a general cognitive dissonance within your character, though not in a particularly meaningful way. I think it's one of the handful of areas that needed more work.
Oh, and I specify female V because the voice actor is incredible and gave so much more than male V, who I find best suited for a streetkid character.

Also, the best trailer, IMO, is launch trailer - czcams.com/video/UnA7tepsc7s/video.html - and it heavily focuses on characters, dialogues and vistas, with few action scenes. That captures the game really well and sets the mood for what you can expect in the game.

So glad you made this video. I bit the bullet and bought this for myself last xmas desperately hoping for another immersive game- as "Days Gone" had immersed me, and "death stranding". And there's the key. This was NEVER THE GAME PPL THOUGHT IT WAS. They want - something like "call of duty" shit (re "it's boring").
It's a mood piece. CYBERPUNK is about *V* staring out of her window at the city the day after her first kill. Judy grieving over the horrific end of one of her friends. Coming back from a massacre *YOU* started, and changing your appearance to a "bad ass" because you don't recognize yourself anymore.
Falling in love with and pining after a character who might not know you exist and seeing how cheap human life can be.
It's a glorious illusion. A bizarre DREAM you get to LIVE in. And people don't get it.
I got it a year after release and it ACTUALLY works FINE on my vanilla PS4. I stripped everything off it but saves and screen captures, did a data reset and loaded it up. Xmas nit 2021 I was TRANSPORTED, man.
I WILL say it takes too long to set you up- there's about three hours of being jockeyed from what *feel* like a lot of interactive cutscenes and missions that you don't get to CHOOSE to do- but FINALLY you get agency, and the city- and your options- are yours to explore.
The driving controls are deplorable, and they should have spread that first three hours of "story setting up" much deeper into the game-
But I can't believe what they HAVE done. I can't believe how people DON'T see that OTHER games- like :The Last of us 2", say- don't ATTEMPT to give you an entire living environment- they give you dense intense small environments- but Night City is a Living Thing!
This should be approached more like "death stranding" or "hellblade- sennua's sacrifice". Or for people who wish the immaculately detailed "Star wars battlefront 2" wasn't just a "FIGHT EVERYONE ALL THE TIME" game and you got to say, live and explode a city on Coruscant....
    It's a game to - "vibe" in.
Take the movie "Heat", put it in Robocop future and you got this game.

I love that people have come around to love this game so much! As a PC player from release day, yeah, I saw my fair share of bugs but nothing too game-breaking. Maybe it's because I'm a Bethesda fan so I'm patient with bugs, or maybe it's because I'm new-ish to CDPR (bought The Witcher 3 in 2017) and have come to really love them as a company that has a passion for gamers and gaming, but... well, I never thought this game deserved even a quarter of the hate it received. I mean, even the whole "broken promises" thing is just silly IMO, as the core experience was absolutely there; it's like these people forgot that every other game of this sort always releases with cut content.
In general, I think gamers need to grow up but I also really, deeply, sincerely appreciate CDPR all the more for going the extra mile to try to regain the respect of the people that lost it, even when it wasn't entirely CDPR's fault that those people ended up like that. I really can't wait for Phantom Liberty and I'm beyond stoked to see how much more well-received Cyberpunk Orion will be!

Graphic quality is subjective, of course it's going to be lower quality on consoles compared to PC, but are they still acceptable? I like you, absolutely love this game. I loved GTA5 (its nearest comparison) but in comparison would much rather wander around in NC than in Los Santos anyday. NC is so rich in diversity and splendor. I have done tons of playthroughs and what makes a game long lasting is shooting (story line once done a couple of times is repetitive and uneventful). What carried GTA5 is the online section (racing cars, doing heists with friends (coop), pvp missions, etc.) and that is missing from CP but could be added. Simple things CDPR can do is make more clothing available to change the players style, make it possible to change your hair, etc. or on your body (tattoos), change the AI for NPCs, and cops (modders have already done this so that cops will chase you in cars) and finally make new DLC that could be played in Coop. They could easily make a harder difficulty level by just adding more enemies or making them more bullet sponges. They could create coop missions to hunt down Corporate villains where there was a tier level like you have to get info and take low level corp agents, then higher level ones, then the boss fights with the CEO's (like Ghost Recon) and since its all shooter action it changes with every play-through making it fun to redo over and over.

What a great review man you pretty much put my thoughts in this review. I used to bash this game too until I finally played it v1.5 and i can honestly say after playing side quests like joshua stephenson and pan am that this is game is one of the best games i have ever played right up there with the witcher 3. Even that little side mission where you had to save the cop from suicide had me reloading to get the good ending, just impactful quests. To think that i have read “professional” paid reviewers from sites like vice and pc game central stating that the side characters are boring lifeless and have no meaningful connection to the player is complete utter bullshit. The facial expressions in the eyes of the characters, relationships, and the voice acting… all i can say is that i am blown away. Judy, pan am, jackie, takemura, delamain, river ward, all characters who i cannot forget much like vessemir , triss, dandelion, and ciri. Also, I’m just gonna say this, i like V is just as much as i like Geralt. Sure rpg aspect maybe a bit generic and it’s still buggy even on 1.5 on series x but the heart and soul of the game more than makes up for it i get lost in this world heck the other night i spent like an hour just reading random shards I picked up. As of now i am giving the game 9/10 and i am done even finished with it.

I'm surprised to hear you say the endings don't change/matter much. Aside from the path of who you choose to help you, and the other options you have outside of being helped, V and Johnny's relationship and decisions change quit a bit about how they both view their potential endings. This is all reflected in the conversations with Alt: there are dozens of variations overall of how she treats Johnny and V, depending on how close you are with Johnny, and how you treated Alt in Johnny's flashbacks. While they don't change the gameplay much, they do change and form the perspectives of these 3 characters, and their philosophies on the greatest consequences of the ending: life, death, and fear. Does V want to be a legend? Do they want to stay alive in their body, even with limited time? Are they so attached to the idea of having a body, that they are willing to sell their soul for an indeterminate amount of time, to some of the worst people the planet has to offer, to save it? Is Johnny the selfish asshole that everyone makes him out to be, and try to take your body? Does he even want your body for another lease on life, given how his last life went? Or do either V or Johnny find a different perspective on what life is, and argue over who gets to live beyond the Blackwall, both afraid to step into the real world again where the body WILL die someday? The Arasaka ending alone provokes so many questions on how much one person's life could even worth, what it could change or impact with or without intent. And when is it a good time to call it quits, and to stop running from death? Is life even worth it without it?
The game is asking the player "what would you do? what do you perceive as the best life to live out of all of these hard choices? and would you be fine with the consequences?"
All of this and more, were worth so much that I am not remotely upset that there aren't many ways to change how the final stage is set,
I'm just glad to see such a meaningful and thoughtful ending to a game so rich with philosophies on life's most intriguing topics, and showing so many sides to them, not just "X is good ending and Y is bad ending".
All the endings, even the Arasaka one, have their own merits, reasons for being the #1 choice, and consequences in the future that we obviously don't know yet, but are given enough context to take some guesses at what might happen

The game really isn’t that bad when almost everything got patched. The AI is smarter compared to before, the driving is not as stiff, the gunplay has improved a bit, and the exploration really is jarring. But the story could’ve been more delved and expanded on. Some of the optional missions such as Rogue’s and Kerry’s could’ve added to the main story instead of being side missions as a way for Johnny to say goodbye before meeting Hanako. The life path option of the game was pointless and doesn’t offer any differences to the overall story and it wouldn’t really suffered of those game details were taken out. The game wanted the player to be a street kid from the start and it really is fine. Street kid life path seems to be the only life path CDPR could finish before launch or they didn’t put enough detail or depth into the life paths. Overall getting better but still doesn’t excuse what we got at launch and the story could use some tweaking. I hope this won’t stop Cyberpunk games from being created if CDPR failed then probably an unknown developer could do their take on a cyberpunk video game Ghost Runner and Deus Ex are good examples of Cyberpunk done right in video games. Looks like Vigilance 2099 could break the mold or deliver a decent well made Cyberpunk game. The future is not set in stone, anything could happen.

  • @ApacheNL1
    @ApacheNL1 Před rokem

The game is really like a piece of literature or a great movie, with subtle hints, symbolism, references everywhere. The main theme is also extremely profound: how do you wish to spend the time you have in this life, are you willing to sacrifice all for the greater good and friends, or do you choose the easy way of selfishness? What is the meaning of life and death? How do you relate to others? Of course Johnny Silverhand is a type of Christ, a savior type, who literally resurrects you and provides you with an opportunity to make a choice to save yourself from yourself. You literally crawl out of your grave in the dump. The whole of Night City seems like a metaphor for hell in which you wake up, devoid of any meaning, where humans are exploited for their most base desires alone to keep them enslaved through temptation, in the midst of which some people wish to play for God, with Saburo acting like the devil himself. I think most people do not have the cultural, religious and philosohical background to take note of and appreciate all these aspects that are woven into the game. It is too intelligent, too deep, too philosophical for the majority of consumers. I understand why they don't want to give up on this game, because it truly is a piece of art at its core.

I have come back a bunch of times with new mods installed but still after a couple hours i burn out again, i feel so sad about this cuz i want to enjoy this beutiful game but i cant because there is simply no replay ability they should make an online for it which they will never do but something that get the playerbase to come back wether its a battle royale fortnite type of game or some pvp just please make SOMETHING that keeps us entertained its reallty a bummer. Great video man keep it up

This video accurately describes how I've felt since I played it day 1 on ps4 which was...an experience for sure but I could see the potential. It's been made better by all measure and it's awesome that CDPR have kept going.

I remember shortly after playing on launch at midnight, outside of wishing I had a better video card, I was surprised to see so much upset when the whole week showed so much positive buzz from early reviews. I think the console version launch really soured things at the end of the day. After playing day after day, I did start to burn out, and feel like I just wanted more ways to enjoy the city outside of gigs. Every time I come back though, I have a blast, and that 1.5 patch did many wonders. I love the play styles, the characters (even the ones I didn't care for at first), the music, the gangs, etc. No disrespect to Deus Ex, but I'd easily play this more often. I think time will be kind to it, but at the end of it all? I just want to see it more fleshed out. Many a game with shortcomings I just plain drop, but this one has something about it that makes me want more. Here's hoping the expansion is off the chain!

Great Video, i love Cyberpunk too but my two biggest problems with the game is the Lack of Cutscenes on Third Person and the Meredith full romance ... my waifu dont have a ending Frankly, what is that? And sorry for my bad english, i am a Brazilian XD.

Most of the people I know who hate this game either haven't played it at all, or haven't even played the prologue to the point where V has the chip in his brain, and so on. Many of them don't have a clue and just talk g a r b a g e. It is exactly the same when a person (be it school or a celebrity in the public) is bullied: One starts and the others just go along without thinking. Or one to one comparisons: Performance: This runs better than CP2077, AI: This runs better than that one etc. You can't judge something like a story from a short video or photo. It's just impossible.
At the beginning of July in the summer vacations I will finally play through the game again. Looking forward to it.

This game is awesome. The fact that so few have played it, quite frankly speaks to the generation of gamers there are today. It’s been a decade since the Witcher series. RPG games aren’t to this new generation what it was to mine

I just played it on the ps5 it was so special to me that i played every sidequest before i finished the main story.
It was never ever just for one second boring to play. It soaked me completely in even with all the problems.
It was the best gaming experience i ever had.
It gave me something i did not know i need from a game.
I just can say, i feel every word you say. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I sometimes think people should be... a little bit more chill, about games. Maybe because I'm not some "hardcore gaming", I was excited about this game before premiere, and I played almost at the premiere to the day, and I fell in love, immediately. And I kind of can't understand why does people really are so mad about it. As if bugs are the most important thing in the entire game.
Maybe it's because I focus more on RPG aspect, and pay attention to charaters and plot more than to the techonogical aspect, but i think this side is as important as the other. People almost completely forget about the story, which is sad.
And I haven't realised before, so thank you for saying that, that this game has the best "slow down" moments in gaming. I've never realised that, but it's the best when we can get to know characters, or just chill driving around the Night City... I only wish that they would build some characters more (like, for example Viktor Vector, he is used only at the beginning of a game and it's sad, because it's clear he cares about V a lot). What does that game does best, is characters, and mood, and lessons you can get from it.
Maybe I'm biased, because one of the polish companies do good, but I really am proud of what the CDPR made. I don't think they deserve as much of a hate as they got, and still gets.

I have loved this game since day 1. On my PS4 didn't have all the terrible experiences others had, I was fortunate. This game is amazing. There hasn't been a game I've played that gave me real feels about the npcs. I almost broke down at the end of the Heist. I've called Dexter everything but a creature of God, I can't watch the scene with Vik after the Heist because his voice cracks. There is a lot of emotion in this game, you just have to keep at it long enough to see it.

I get the Witcher was popular. But that doesn’t mean you have to hate on this game so devs will abandon it to make another Witcher game.
This game is iconic. The environments are breathtaking. My only complaints would be the length of the main story in the incremental upgrades in your abilities which are not really noticeable.

I’ve always defended this game even back in day 1 when everyone was hating on it. I completed it first on the PC, then on the PS4 and finally on the PS5 and loved every single play through. No game has made me feel this way and it is down to CDPRs quality of writing. Cyberpunk 2077 was a rollercoaster of emotion and I’ve never had so many ups and downs whilst playing a game before. It also left me feeling emotionally empty and exhausted in the end which is really the mark of sublime storytelling.

the moment you said that we should develop our own opinions, I truly felt that. It feels like the hate I developed for this game is because of others opinions and reviews instead of my own. That's why I stopped playing, I should have stopped listening to others opinions while playing the game. Thank you, I want to start again. I should buy cyberpunk 2077 once again since I regret my refund lol.

Hey man thanks for taking the time to comment and watch! That’s super cool that you recognize that and are willing to give it another shot. It’s funny as I have gotten older I look back and realize how much of my “beliefs” and things I championed where just others opinions, it’s freeing to just think for yourself haha

You nailed it. To add the musical "environment" is simply off the charts immersive from a cool dystopian cyberpunk sci fi POV. The immersive sound-score could not have been done better its a masterpiece on par, deeper and wider than blade runner, respectfully broadening from its shoes. It hasnt had the beginner bugs for years so all those gripes are really historic nonsense. Ok I played through on a gaming laptop capable of running it . The people who were duped were console HW. But that leads to the question what was the dupe was it the game or the HW you were sold?

Thank you so much for making this. I agree with every point you made. I prefer to focus on the positives but that doesnt mean im blind to the faults or fuck ups. i wrote notes as i watched so please indulge me: i stayed away from the hype. I didnt watch anything about it. my friend was following it from the beginning , would tell me a bit, and he would get crushed with every push back. i felt differently... i was like cool do what you need to do. I was only mildly interested since it was first person until i watched my man playing it on PC at release. I gave it a shot on his game and within 3 hours bought it for myself on steam. Now im nearing 530 hours in with 5 characters... all with different builds... weapons, play style
i love the corpo path. to me it was the furthest from what V became so he really needed Jackie to show him the ropes and that helped build their bond. plus the corpo dialogue options make me feel so smart. I love the use of kerry's boat rift in this.
Kerry's psychology is the most fascinating ive ever come across. He quickly rose to my favorite character of all time when we finally got to meet him in Act 3 after learning all we had along the way. Ive never been so inspired by a character before.. sure i love Dante, Geralt, Kain, Arthur, Dorian Pavus but they never hit like Kerry Eurodyne has. I dedicated this youtube channel to him, an IG account, a tiktok, basically a twitter all because i want to get it out there on how awesome he is, romance him or not... he is amazing and special. Also, to help support and give exposure to Matt Yang King because his performance with Kerry blew me away and im a fan of his for life now. This game feeds my soul/essence on so many levels like nothing ever has before. It is Truly Special and a Masterpiece to me.
a funny note is i like to pretend its my kiroshi optics are bugging out when there's a visual bug. so they just make me laugh
