- Just a video about The Barclay Twins. I did hear many good stories about the twins giving a lot to charity and being generally good people BUT after watching this I see them in a different light. Please take the time and watch this and judge for yourself.
I had never heard even one good story about the twins. This is an awakening that you said that. I live in the United States and have been to have a dozen different country plus the fact that I am an immigrant from Thailand. I say I am moderately traveled and somewhat storied at 39 years old. Still I thought they were just one of the affluent trillionares (I'm a Thai nationale, and that's IS a lot of money those brothers have). What was really eye-opening for me not the video as the "devices are the same everywhere", but that the exact same side of the same coin can show a differnt face-value when interpreted the same way. It meant the two English-speaking peoples are more alike that I previously knew. We are alike because we are both different from our twin brother on the opposites side of the Atlantic.

My family used to buy from littlewoods......our clothes, Christmas, household goods. It was the only way to have new things, and pay them off in an affordable way!

That's not true, I'm fine with paying taxes if it means I don't have to take care myself about putting tars on the roads I drive on, pay myself the teachers who educate the children, pay myself a security team to protect me instead of having a public police force or firefighters, pay for doctors, nurses, hospitals intead of having healthcare... A place like Sark, small as it is, can do well without raising taxes, but on a larger scale it's necessary, and there's no reason why very rich people shouldn't contribute when they benefit so much from it.
Shame those "Drunkard, Oafish, Bullying" allegations were vindicated recently though, does not help your credibility even though the Barclay twins are evil bastards. We need honest journos to hold these villains to account otherwise their bad characters diminish the case.
John Sweeny and his employer do indeed have a history of " making misleading, fabricated and libellous statements" and the Barcley twins were not wrong in stating that fact! What was also astonishing is how David Cameron was quick to call out Jimmy Carr (small fry...) and withheld comment on the Barclay twins for doing exactly the same thing. Now, it's evident why the BBC had to pay compensation, much of their funding comes from tax payer money and Cameron who pays it to them was on the side of the elite brothers, not that "malicious" Sweeny. LOL comdey central!

I´m pretty sure there are two sides of the same story. Regarding tax exemptions it looks pretty ok to use any legal means available not to pay taxes. On the other hand, Barclay´s twins should let the reporter scrutinize them to definetly clear out any alleged influence in Sark as well.
Im pretty sure telling the truth will get you sued ya wally.

i believe in paying tax because it contributes to the country's growth and stability but when there are so many ways for the government to squeeze money from you it only serves to push some people away there are so many im not even going to get into it. the best way to keep your money is to be smart and the Barclay brothers are doing just that. why not look for a way to get out of 40% inheritance tax? the % needs to be more realistic sometimes.
