Bhanu seemed to have chapters in his life. No one knew how old he was, I guess, but he'd been happy with one owner that said "Good boy" to him, shouted "whack-a-doo" from time to time, and sang "Twinkle, twinkle, little star" to him. He might have been happy for years. Then she died, and he ended up in a store, of all places, not very happy, and with feathers plucked out! Then came the third chapter, when a lady took him home, loved him, treated him with kindness, and brought a new friend into his life. Not sure how long that lasted, but it was a good final chapter. He went out happy!
I remember a song from years ago that said "whack-a-doo, whack-a-doo, whack-a-doo"! I bet that's where he got it from. Very touching story. Glad to hear that his life ended in a happy home. Thanks for sharing.
Now he is back with Grandma, or whoever it was who raised him / cared for him for years before passing away ♥
I bet the original lady owner was a marvelous person, and she'd be THRILLED to see where the bird ended up. This was an awesome story. 💙

Ringnecks have the sweetest voices. Take it from someone that had parrots for 24 years & volunteered at one of the largest parrot rescues/sanctuaries in the country for 7 years.

Omg I almost cried when this sweet girl said "whakado"!! My father used to sing a song that had that word in it!!! He passed in 2003 so this was so special to me. ❤️❤️❤️🐦❤️❤️❤️

Know that no matter how much time we have with the wonderful animals of the land, air and seas HE sends us HIS friends.
They teach us so much and pure love
When they pass on, know they have wings now and will see you one day when HE calls you to come and rest.
Your pets will come to you and lead you to the Bridge to pick up all of the animals you have loved.
Then after many hours of happy tears you will stand up proud with a very tear stained face, and you and your friends will enter the Kingdom.
Your animal friends are the only character witnesses HE will hear on your judgement.
BE PROUD for every animal, stray, injured you help HE sees this and is looking to see what you will do.

Oh my goodness. Yes, wasn't ready for the ending. Sweet Sweet bird. So glad he was taken in by loving people. I've got two parrots myself. This makes me want to cry. He was precious!
He really did live through quite a lot! I’d say he was at least 70-80 years old by the time he got his final home. I bet the old lady who sang to him had owned him for the majority of her adult life, from college graduation through marriage, through years of playing with the family’s kids, and finally hearing about that lady’s retirement. The story of a woman who had the same pet, and the same friendship, for decades. This is why having a dog, a cat, a rabbit, or a horse can be heartbreaking in the later years. With parrots, you don’t have to worry much about how many days you’ll get to spend with them. I’ve had to cope with 2 fish deaths, 2 cat deaths and 1 dog death so far, but by now I’m well aware that time with pets is precious and should be spent well.

Bhanu was so lucky 🍀 to have found his person so late in his life. What a beautiful and loving relationship 💕 Parrots are amazing - I am partial to Congo African Greys and Eclectus- I have been owned by both. Whenever I see these fabulous parrot videos I am reminded of mine.
My neighbor took in her mom's African Grey while her house was having some construction, and then my neighbor went on vacation, so we kept him. I was sitting at the computer in the living room, and suddenly I hear: Next time on Judging Amy ! Thought it was a ghostie ... when my son was 1 -- he's 33 now -- and he'd "toot" I"d say: Did you tootie, and he would say: it was a ghostie !!! So I'd tell the bird, I thought you were a ghostie -- when my neighbor got back, I saw her outside and she asked me, what is a ghostie That's all he says ... Ha. Lovely bird. I have asthma, so the feathers make dust. I also had cats, so no birdies, but it was wonderful knowing that one for the brief time I did.
God will thank you some day. Love never dies.

Beautiful :) & so glad they have bird company! So many seem to feel a human companion is enough, but it's really not in most cases, they really do get so much more enrichment having one of their own to share their lives with as well as their humans - and they still have PLENTY of love for their humans, no loss to let the bird have another bird in it's life, in fact it's better, cause they're much more entertaining, due to what they get up to together, while not both demanding human attention
& I can totally relate on the voice thing, my rescue likes to call horse races, as you will hear on the radio if listening to the races & also speaks with the voice of his dead former owner, which is really trippy, cause his former owner was a neighbour, so I knew him & know that voice from the now dead man

I adopted quite a few parrots. You never know their real history. I lost a few of them a few months after they settled in - and I didn’t expect it. They seemed to enjoy being here with friends, and then died in a short time. Maybe they waited for their last train stop, to be loved and cared for, and then leave for the rainbow bridge. I still grieve for all of them
When I die, you can find me at the Rainbow Bridge with all my "babies". Hope to see you there one day with your babies too.

He must have been pretty old. He still remembered and mimicked his original owner who he clearly really loved and missed. I felt kind of sad for the other green bird when I realized that Bhanu was now too old to mate with a female. I felt worse when the female eventually lost a friend she was just getting to know! Maybe she flies around yelling “WHACKADOO!” now? That would be a sweet way to make her owner happy, reminding the woman of the parrot she lost.

What a couple of happy little creatures their so lucky to have chosen you, I have a rescue dog that chose me and he had a stroke so I looked after him, two months ago I had a stroke now he looks after me Animals are great & kind. PEACE AND LOVE TO EVERYONE ❤❤.

Know that he's proudly showing off the ginormous piece of your heart you gave him during your time together;crossing the Rainbow Bridge is never an easy experience for the surviving fur/feather/fin family members but you gave Bhanu a loving home filled with patience,joy,and laughter. Gentle cyber hugs.
It seems Bhanu died too early considering their natural lifespan... From experience, parrots are quite susceptible to respiratory issues that can be fatal....
