I used to think that caution was needed when saying words like “see” or “look” no matter how they were being used. But soon he became close to all of us and it became normal for me to use any terms regarding eyesight around him. I’d tell him to look at something, or hand him something for him to see. He just saw things by feeling them or having them very close to his eyes. By knowing him and others with disabilities, I became more aware of some things that needed to change around me, or were more difficult for others that I hadn’t realized before.
