DJI Action 2 and Rekon4 FR vs GEPRC Smart 35.

- Just got the DJI Action 2 this week, and I love it. Very small, heavy for size, but still light. Decent battery life and great stabilization. Don't have protection for it yet, so tried to be careful...at first, then forgot from the sheer bliss of flying.
In this video I fly DJI Action 2 camera with a 3.5 inch, 4 inch, and 5 inch drone. All drones fly nicely with small camera, but only my 5 inch drones dive perfectly smooth, too much weight for smaller drones I guess. - Zábava

@@tigrollin6450 rekon 4, it came yesterday and I’m loving it!! I figured it would get a touch more flight time when carrying the action 2.
Out of curiosity are you running the stock tune?
@@Nickbellarosamedia , stock everything but 40 expo on all 4 stick controls I think, and maybe placed throttle limit to scale on same page. I'm loving rekon 4 too, definitely quicker than smart 35 or Babyhawk 2, and handles action 2 better also as you suggested. Dives perfectly fine with 360go2, but freaks a tad on long straight down dives with action 2 for me at least.
@@tigrollin6450 mine feels abit off when inverted. Quick rolls or flips are fine but big split s or slow floaty flip gets weird. I think it was tuned for a 30g naked GoPro so the pids prob are a touch off for an action 2.

Lol, Mr Joseph Daulton! Thank God I don't have to see what I look like with goggles on as I'm flying, if nothing else panicked me, that probably would. Sometimes I wonder who the greyheaded old man is until I recognize it's me. Have you seen any deals come open like you mentioned to me before with dji combo? Was wondering if your purchase went well and all. That's an incredible deal if so.
TIG, I guess it was too good to be true, out of the three combo purchases that I made from China, I have been refunded for two of them and the third is way late and if it doesn’t come soon I will ask for a refund on that one as well, at least this last one seems as though it has been shipped, the other ones never even had a tracking number given.
@@josephdaulton3726 , have wondered over last several weeks if you got them. Nice to be able to be refunded! I thought that was a crazy good deal for whole combo.
I’ll let you know what happens with this last combo, it was at $599 instead of $499 like the previous two. Maybe it will be legit. All the tracking information is making sense on it at least, maybe it’s just sitting in one of those boats offshore

Hunting season! Was hoping you were doing something that you love not seeing any videos from you lately. I've taken several breaks from flying myself which seems to do me good. Glad I made you smile! Thank the Lord my camera survived until protection arrived (it'll probably break on 1st crash now).

chris my brother! I got my rekon4 fr (hglrc,4 inch) going just in honor of your 4 inch build you did. You gave me confidence to get it going after it came soldered wrong. Yeah, I couldn't resist pushing things a little even though camera was unprotected. Luckily it survived and camera protection came in Saturday. My brother got a kick out of your comments on other video!

Grasswizard, the trees do give you great close proximity training. Transfers well to different settings for less public crashing.
As always great flying. Hope you bought the action 2 from BestBuy with protection your going to need it. I have a session 5 and looking for a 4k action camera not sure if I should get the 360, SMO or action 2 for my 3 and 3.5 inch quads. I also see your getting faster in your course your time improved on the GEP35 from 1:13.7 to 1:09.6
John, I did get it from Best Buy with protection. I now have case on camera and lens shield too. And I have brought time down a little. I like all the cameras you mentioned.
Action 2 a tad heavier and twice the price, but stabilization phenomenal. 360 go 2 is tiny, durable. Both water proof. Smo has been absolutely great for me but not water proof, and probably more damage susceptible being in naked case (but has held up awesome for me, but I don't do much asphalt), and I love powering it from battery or drone.
Serious props goes out to you. I have made a couple attempts at this but just following trails. Nice flying are you digital? Subbed

Hi, Tig? what do you think about rekon4 FR frame? you must be crashed it some times right? Is it strong enough?
Feathered Friends, I like the frame, only complaint so far is it doesn't dive perfectly smooth with 52ish gram camera attached. Was hoping 1804 motors would keep it steady. The camera may be slightly heavy for great diving with this frame. I have crashed probably 30 times, at least 5 times I was thinking that it would be broken on walk to crash. Most crashes at 30+ mph. No damage to frame to date. It does have removable arms, looks like one bolt, at least you don't have to replace whole frame if arm breaks. Over all very satisfied with frame. Durability wise, extremely satisfied, though most of my crashes are wooded crashes and not concrete. Thanks for stopping in Feathered Friends!

Is there a real difference in noise between the quads? 5 Inchers are to loud for where I fly, and I'm interested in the Rekon tbh.

kilasracingfactory, there definitely is for 3.5 inch quads (Babyhawk and smart35), rekon a tad louder but considerably quieter than my 5 inchers. They are just so light that the small motors barely work for my style flying.
Rekon4 is becoming nearly my number 1 drone. Great control, nice speed, longish flight time. Wind buffets it some but no jello on action 2 or peanut camera. Smart35 and Babyhawk 2 great in wind at retaining smoothness, but can have jello if weighted down and not balanced good.

@@breachr9386, as far as what you see in goggles, yes, smart 35 better in wind, great in wind imo. If you're carrying heavier camera like dji action 2 or bones gopro (50g or higher), the smart 35 can gave a tad jello if not balanced properly, I just adjust battery to make balanced when holding in center and it's usually perfect. Rekon 4 jerks in wind some, not horrible, but way more than smart35 or Babyhawk 2. I even have extra arm braces on smart35 and it flies smooth in winds compared to most drones.

Hi, I have Smart 35HD too and want to by a camera but I not fan of naked cameras because I am poo pilot:). Dji action 2 sounds like perfect solution for me. Could you tell me flight time on smart 35 with dji camera onboard? Which battery do you using flight smart 35? BTW Loving that dive in 3:30
Piotr, thank you for stopping by! With my type flying I average 7 minutes with dji action 2 camera and using a 4s 850 lipo. Does not dive real long steep dives well with this camera but everything else it does great with this camera.
So too heavy for SMART 35?
So what camera do you propose for this drone?
Only too heavy for long straight down dives, does really well for certain types of freestyle and fast or slow regular cruising and racing around. I also have caddx peanut that smaller drones dive long and steep perfectly fine with, also the naked cameras.
Overall, the dji action 2 camera is my favorite, 2nd probably smo, then caddx peanut. Full size gopro a little heavy for my taste except on 5 inch or bigger 6s quads.

FPuVe#, if I could only have one I'd choose Babyhawk for me and my flying style, plus tough as tank, really good looking to me.
