Transfer Android Photos to Mac - Move Files from Android Phone to Mac with Android File Transfer

Recently I found that transferring photos or other files from an Android phone to a Mac is not exactly a straight forward process. But keep watching and I'll show you how to do it. I'll need a program called Android File Transfer and I can find it by doing a Google search. It comes from the official Android website and you can download it from there. After it's finished downloading I'll launch the installer and then drag the Android icon to the Applications folder. And in less than a minute it's ready.
Now connect the Android phone to the Mac via USB cable. Back on the Mac, click on Go and then open the Applications folder. Then open the Android File Transfer program. And if the Android File Transfer program says it Can't Access Device Storage then on the phone launch Settings, then tap on Connected Devices. And then go into the USB settings. Here make sure the button for File Transfer/Android Auto is selected. And just so you know, if your phone isn't plugged into your computer you will not be able to find the USB settings.
On the computer click OK. A new window pops up showing all the folders on the Android phone. To transfer photos to the Mac open the DCIM folder. Then open the Camera folder... or another folder containing files that need to be transferred. Now I can drag any file from my Android phone to my Mac as usual. Just remember than anytime you want to move files from the phone to the Mac, the Android File Transfer program must be used.
