    EVERYTHING about that rv/boat SCREAMS QUALITY! Beautiful job gentlemen.

  • @youdonthavetoreadthispost.5850

    Long time boater/ rver here. Great concept. Nice lay out. Plenty of speed for the application. Cat style enhances stabilty and eases trimming at rest and underway. Balance is important. Cats excell in that area. I would estimate a shallow draft, easy beaching & anchoring. Suzuki's are bullet proof in the outboard world. They are also quiet running and fuel efficient salt water outboards.
    It will catch some wind so I'd stick to bays and avoid open ocean(any houseboat). I'd prefer fully spread outboards, mounted way out on the cats for docking maneuvers. The wider the better. It should trailer well with the right Truck. My one ton can handle 18,000lbs. I'd skip the side awning and add a bidet style toilet seat to cut down on paper in the black tank( makes it easier for the macerator pump). It should track well for trolling or low speed operation. The wave splitter in the bow prevents chuffing(air+water under the bow) by splitting the inside bow wave. The cabin roof should take a dinghy, if desired. Bikes can ride on the back deck. Kids ride inside the cabin underway(safer).
    Looks are one thing, performance is another, and compromises must be made. This appears to be a well thought out and well engineered item. If I wasn't over the hill with 2 boats & 2 campers already. I'd be picking up the phone and asking questions. Welded aluminum should be a lifetime boat. Boats are built to take a beating that r.v.s don't have to. If it's a solid boat, it's made to a higher standard than any r/v on the market. No r/v could take the pounding a boat does every time it goes out on the water.
    #oldtimesaltydog & former full time r/ver. - Just paying it forward, folks. Enjoyed the tour.

      This a great RV/Boat! My husband and I rented a houseboat for two weeks one summer. We went up and down the rivers and locks in Northern Alabama. We had a blast with our son, friends, and family, who'd come out for a day or two by meeting us at a dock when we'd fill up and dump. Love it!

      I'd go 1 Ton dually diesel for best towing performance with the single being almost as good. My Duramax/Allison Z-71 4x4 not dually, is rated for 18,000lbs on the rear hitch and has a tow/haul mode. That's triple axle country. If you see 3 axles on the trailer you are in that neighborhood for needed towing capacity. Always make sure you have enough truck before towing, and set it up right. Bad things happen if you don't.

    • @kathyveitch
      @kathyveitch Před 2 lety +1

      @@youdonthavetoreadthispost.5850 I have a RAM 3500 Cummings Diesel Dually 4x4 rated for 34K tow capacity... I tow my 5th wheel using a Gooseneck ... not the 5th wheel set up. Since the chassis for the rig/boat is custom, I would think that a gooseneck attachment would be possible. Would want to upgrade the suspension of the chassis to be able to be more off road- like independent suspension, coiled springs over shocks. The chassis would probably be pretty darn heavy but worth it. Would not want to trust the boat/rv weight to a ball hitch no matter what I was towing with. You are spot on with having way more towing capacity than needed. I bought my truck about a year before I settled on my 5th wheel and just figured if I had the truck from hell I could tow it no matter what the hell it weighed! LOL!

    This is a great idea. Being a lifetime boater however, I'm looking at a lot of "sail" area, minimal draft and 7500 lbs. I'd be afraid of this thing if the wind happened to pick up. How do you access the forward cleats when approaching a dock? I'm not simply being negative, I feel the owner just better be well educated in boating. I do like it.

    We offer a five-year structural Guaranty plus
    1-year all components warranty

    If you would contact Suzuki, you can probably get those outboards set up as counter-rotating and change the prop on the portside engine. Then you wouldn't be fighting the wheel when driving this as a boat. As it's setup in the video, both props turn the same direction, it will constantly pull to the right as you're driving on the water.
    Are those LED navigation lights approved by the US Coast Guard?
    This a great idea but just needs some technical details finished to make sure boating with it is safe and easy to drive.

    hey love the product and will be looking into something like this in the future. Just an idea is to capitalize on is the square footage and the roof. If i designed a floor plan for myself I would want slide outs and a sun-deck that could double as storage, while camping or while travailing. Cheers!

    • @youdonthavetoreadthispost.5850
      @youdonthavetoreadthispost.5850 Před 3 lety +1

      Be careful with weight on the roof. You don't want anything heavy up high in a boat. The height gives the weight leverage which makes the boat less stable. Balance the weight and keep it low. Low weight will 'right the boat'. High weight will capsize it.
      Balance is key on the water. Camper slide outs would have to oppose or the boat would list to one side. You have to design as a boat first or the boat performance will suffer. You can work with it, if you understand the limitations and know where to carry the weight. It matters on the trailer too, but not nearly as much. I like the looks of it and what they have done with the concept. Boats are tougher than r/v's because they have to be.

      I can guess. 3.5 gph per engine at 60 % throttle with a speed of approx.18 - 20mph and 70 gallons of fuel would put you around 10 hours running time for both engines at 7 gph or 180 to 200 miles before your running on empty. Full throttle fuel consumption usually comes in around 10% of the horsepower on outboard motors. 60% throttle is where they perform comfortably and fuel efficiently. For typical 'lake duty' the gas will get stale before you empty the tank. Those 90 h.p. 4 cycle engines are thrifty if you run them right. Keep topping up and use a stabilizer. Outboards don't like bad gas. Hope that helps.

    • @landandsearvtrailerablehou6104
      @landandsearvtrailerablehou6104  Před 6 lety

      Land And Sea RVs are actually design for all four season usage the cabin and hull are completely encapsulated in 2 inches of rigid foam insulation the 40 gallon freshwater 33 gallon grey water and 33 gallon black tank are all installed Within the insulated Hull.
      A low profile roof mount air conditioner / heat pump and propane furnace provide heating and cooling for all types of weather conditions and camping situations.
      Dry weight is around 9,000 lb (including trailer) depending on the model and options chosen. It is important to check the tow capacity of your specific vehicle but many of the new half ton trucks being manufactured today have a tow rating of 10 to 12000 lb
