Much more impressed by this well- maintained and updated boat than I would be by a new one. Not every owner is an A+ owner but this guy is.
That galley is the stuff of dreams. Your engine rooms look like nothing was left, undone! This is the best boat share video, I've seen. It's a nice example of the American dream, realized. Congratulations!
Absolutely beautiful boat. 😍 Those engine rooms! What a dream.
Thanks
Great to see your refit so tastefully remodeled, nice work on mechanics, electrical, mechical, woodwotk and galley. Absolutely gorgeous!

Great overview of this classic yacht! I especially like the tour(s) of the twin Detroit Engine Rooms!
A perfect example of a classic look and an owner who respects that. Congratulations on your stunning vessel.
Thank you. Merry Christmas
@@billwilletts Merry Christmas! All the best to you and yours!
Im not normally a jealous person but I'm jealous!! Its absolutely what a Yacht should be. Well done with all the hard work...Beautiful
Beautiful, so much hard work but what a stunning comfortable boat.
👍😍Nice. He did a lot of work. Thanks for sharing. 💝
Very nice!! Great job.
My favorite era of Hatteras motor yachts the lines and layouts / finishes just say Class to me btw I grew up in Florida and used to watch in envy with those going up and down the Intracoastal Waterway even though the old Air conditions is working well the modern ones are way more efficient i had a working old Cruisair that eventually bit the dust and i put a brand new reverseable one in its place and it was worth every penny and heartache there is nothing better on a boat then having a nice clean Engine room
Just a classy boat, love what you guy’s have done to save boating history, enjoy, Wayne from Windsor Ontario
Beautiful stunning boat just class!! Beautiful wood upgrades
What a beautiful boat and cute camera boy.
Perfectly balanced between yacht and boat. Just a perfect vessel. Congratulations!
Great boats have great owners, nice to see it's being well maintained.
Excellent refit Thx for showing!
I was a mate on a 56 in 1981. Hatteras hired me to help run the “new” design up and down the coast to dealers and booze cruises with the then Owner, AMF Corp. you have done a great job. Love the boat. Great to see and remember what she looked like.
That's awesome. Do you know Bruce Morrison?
You know, the name is familiar. That was many years ago. I am thinking we were on Hull number 1. Our mission was to show off the boat. Our last stent was in Connecticut for that summer of 1981 then they shut down the marketing effort because of the economy and interest rates. I thought I was going to have a career at Hatteras but it did not work out that way. I’m in Charleston, if you are ever passing thru, look me up, 843-513-2829. I would love to show my wife the boat. Vann Cochran.
Wow.! Congratulations for what you have done ! Absolutely beautiful renovation . Very very clean . Your boat has three bathrooms . Incredible. Your engine room beautiful. Your coral painted house picture in kitchen nook amazing and that's my favorite color coral. Cute doggie as he knows he lives the great life. Ruff ! I have always loved the Hatteras design. Grew up in florida. And back in the eighties and nineties, used to her so excited to see Hatteras yachts on the water. They were deemed the upper class of fine sailing motor yachts .
Very Nice Hattaras
Beautiful boat, thanks for the tour. !!
The ship looks brand new!!!
Nice job 👍 brings back a lot of memories growing up in Florida
I love that boat, so many cozy places I'd like to sit and relax.
Great video. I have always admired Hatteras Motoryachts. At one time they ruled the waterways. Only one more thing for you to upgrade and that is to get a cat. You can keep the dog just make sure it knows its place.
😂😂😂
That is a beautiful boat. I love what you have done with her. I also love the wider body. Congratulations. Smooth seas and following breezes.
That's one well designed craft. Excellent use of space and the engine rooms are phenomenal for the size of boat.
What an awesome job on this boat!
Bill...Beautiful job on the boat. I own hull 307 and you are absolutely correct on replacing the washer/dryer unit. It was a big job.
Where do you keep her? Would love to know where they all are
@@billwilletts Her summer home is in East Tawas, Michigan. It's a small town on Lake Huron. We have owned her for nine years and have many great memories.
The aft deck is our favorite spot as well.
What a beautiful live aboard.
So beautiful boat 🥰🥰 cozy
Thanks for the tour, Bill! She's absolutely lovely!
Beautiful boat, I Love the way you refitted this. Well Done.
Beautiful boat thank you for the view Jim Kansas City Missouri
Goodness!!!! Simply beautiful. Happy sailing.
These are such classy old boats. Great to see one so well cared for! Have fun out there!
I love everything about this ship.Very well done,Sir ! Quite the home on the Seas.
Reminds me of the NICE boats on the Ohio River around Louisville ,dad was an electrician and did a lot of work on some of the nice ones
I just love seeing these restos, your boat is amazing and you are no doubt so proud of her. So much more rewarding than a new one and just a great achievement.
You did a beautiful job
Beautiful all around.Thank you for sharing 🙂
You have done an Amazing job on this Beautiful Boat..Well done.!
beautiful refit! I love the classics!
Beautiful boat
Beautiful boat! Love the refit. She looks new.
Very homey vessel. Nothing pretentious. Beautiful.
Awesome job, pure pleasure!
Wow that is a beautiful boat. The wood work is incredible.
Beautiful boat.I'm also a big fan of that Morrison Suite. It's perfect 🙂
Thanks for the tour mate, incredible use of space for an older model, deceptively large.Really nice restoration all round, lots of space for entertaining, great sleeping quarters but for me the standout was the engine room.Talk about doing a job right! Really is the cherry 🍒 on a restoration you can be very proud of and we,can be very envious of.I wish you joy in boatloads! Ahoy Captain 🐋
Nice boat! We are looking and learning. Ready to sell the farm and try this lifestyle. Good showing. This the kind of guy I like to deal with. I'd have confidence this boat is in good shape. Only problem is you need a bigger boat and sell me this one!.
Lol...thank you. everything is for sale right?
Very nice work Bill!! I love it!
What a great job on your refit. So sensible and practical in so many ways. You obviously put a lot of thought into your vision for the final product. Looks great with the hardwood floors. I never knew Hatteras made a 56. Coming from a sailboat background, yours looks like a dream to work on....lol. But I know better. Very descent fuel consumption for such a heavy boat with big Detroit's. Hope you're enjoying your new baby. Cheers.
Beautiful beautiful boat. Love all the woodwork inside.
Impressive boat!
I'm not rich...but getting ready to retire. Selling everything except my little home in the ADK mtns.....I am planning on buying a live aboard. That's the life I want to finish with!!
Awesome!! Hope you have a great time. Reach out if I can assist
I’m in the process of getting rid of everything and living on a boat. Wish you all the luck.
You did an excellent and well loved job! Very encouraging, thanks
Thank you for great video. Greetings from Canada
Wouahhh...very very nice old yacht ! Amazing !!! ;-)
Very nice hatt. Bruce is my neighbor. Worked with him for years. Very knowledgeable Hatteras guy from back when they made good boats.
He is the man!!
that boat is a beauty, thanks for sharing!
That. Computer. Set-up. In all the vids on CZcams, that was eye-opening. How could anyone NOT have that information at their fingertips? Up-to-date sat feed of inlet, now that is a captain.
Very very nice boat
Beautiful job on the refit!
Three years of a rebuilding full time?
Very, very nice with all the comforts of home. ❤ having a bathtub as well.
Nice Boat!!! Alot of work but seems like you're having a good time with it. And the boat is huge!!! The hallway went on for days! Great vid and best of luck to you!
Thanks
Beautiful yacht gorgeous varnish
Just ran across this. Beautiful boat! Love your upgrades. If only I lived on a coast, I'd have one. As it is, in the middle of Ohio, I have a walleye boat. Enjoyed your video.
Thank you
That's awesome guys. Thanx 4 that.🍺
This are beautiful boats ,so much character
Looks amazing!
Beautiful boat, definitely something I would love to live aboard
Thank you Karen
You did a very nice job on your boat. Looks very nice. My experience with boats, I have a 37 Egg, all boats are a lot of work.
Really nice! Good job!
Hatteras are beautiful ships.
Keep posting vids on the boat and music 👍 awesome 😎
Beautiful boat!
Absolutely spectacular! We have a 1985 61’ Hatt. Completely restored as well. Just completed the entire new paint job. We do love it. You did nice work! My best to you.
Thank you
So are you going to show your new renovation too on utube. I've always loved Hatteras the upper class of big yachts in the eighties.
Very Nice! Congrats!
Really nice
What a great boat it brings back memorys
Beautiful Yacht!! I see you put in a Lot of Blood, Sweat & $$$. However like you said, it will last your lifetime. Maybe in my next life.:)) I luv it my friend.
Wow Awesome job on keeping that Beauty up to date and looking so great i grew up in South Florida and graduated high school there in 1982 when Hatteras came out with the Wide Body it was one of the hottest things on the water i myself and many of my freinds still consider Hatteras Yachts to be exactly what a Motor Yacht should be from their Hull lines to the fit and finish and super structure layout ive done a lot of cruising over the years including most of the Carribean and the Bahamas ive done the entire East Coast ICW and did many hours in the Florida keys ive seen my share of Mega Yachts out there under their own power and honestly nothing looks better than either a Hatteras or even a old Chris Craft hull going along they are classic boat lines that many others have tried yet can not duplicate on a kind of sad note in the 1980s when all the drugs were being brought into Florida by the Cartells many of the motor yachts the drug dealers used were stolen Hatteras hulls usually they outfitted many additional fuel tanks and transported the illegal drugs to the United States often to avoid capture the people flooded or torched the boats when they were done using them and offloaded their products i was a Certified Scuba Diver and i actually dove on one that was sunk off the coast of Palm Beach at the time we recovered a lot of fishing gear and personal belongings we suspected belonged to the original owners the vessel had what we estimated to be several hundred gallons of auxiliary fuel tanks installed in the hull probably to make several trips to and from the Bahamas as that was used as a hub for Cocaine coming up from South America then being sent to Florida for distribution btw i personally knew one Drug ing pin in the 80s that had a WideBody Hat as his personal Yacht in Miami he was sent to jail for over 20 plus years for money laundering through a bank he owned with family i knew the DockMaster of the Marina he kept hos yacht in and i did odd jobs around the Marina because of my love of boats and the Dock Master and his wife were old neighbors of my family who at one time owned his own Boat repair company
Great story!!! Love it!
Nice boat amazing ship!
Love it. Come pick me up in Savannah. I’d like a joy ride.
After watching many boat reviews space seems to be a premium on any boat pertaining to storage, This is a nice boat, I don't get people who are selling a boat and you can't get past looking at all the chip bags, pop cans, unmade beds, clothes left out. I would assume it's no different than selling a house, a clean well kept house or boat will sell faster than one that's not been kept up.
Wow great boat. I'm from New Bern (now in Wilmington) and had a ton of family that worked at Hatteras Yachts. I'm sure some of them had a hand in the original construction.
Love the 53 up we owned 28 footer had a 14 foot beam lol
what was the model? Sounds very cool
She is a beautiful vessel!!!! I would love to own an old Chris-Craft or Hatteras.
very nice boat!
Love it!
Looking great, buddy... the boat and you! :0)
Come see us. It's been too long
Damn fine boat!
Really nice!
Really tastefully done. This boat would be $5 million for a new one.
You could never tell this is a 1981 yacht. I would prefer this than the modern yachts. Hatteras like these are built so well.
We agree. Classic never goes out of style
@@billwilletts totally correct. Love these yachts. Safe travels!
Wonder how much would it be a boat like this. Engine rooms amazingly well maintained.
lovely job .....well done enjoy......
