I am a black woman and from Alabama never believed her story and she deserves every day and pay the amount that is owed. She pulled so many people in her mess including the Blanchard family whose daughter was kidnapped and killed opening up old wounds. So in this case she got was she deserved and it is a penalty and hard lesson she is going to learn from.
I didn't believe it either since day one when I heard how it unfolded and they should also give her house arrest after the one Year she's a disgrace 😠 and she doesn't have any remorse at all 😭

She deserves more than that, this was beyond horrible, and to think there's a girl out there right now waiting to escape or be found/be saved and she playing like this

I was pissed because we’ve complained of not getting total attention when a black girl or woman goes missing everything was put on this case and it turns out to be a total farce it’s shameful and she shows no remorse no nurse in the near future I would want

Claudia these are the three things that make me believe that she deserved what she got regardless of race:
1) Her mom went on national television and accused people of bullying her just because some were skeptical of her story.
2) Carlee skipped town and had a birthday party and never told the entire truth which she owed to the people who spent their free time looking for her.
3) She showed up for her booking dressed as if she were going to the club and smiled in her mugshot which means that she had zero remorse for what she had done and put folks through.
Did you see how crazy the mom acted after the sentencing? She knew all along that it was a hoax and she went on tv talking crazy.
She should go to jail too.
There is a belief mom (being a real-estate agent) pointed her daughter to a new home under construction/for sale where daughter could use to hide-out. That would explain why she stole the toilet paper from work. If it was furnished new demo home, she would have access to water, bed, electricity, and be safe.
They need to pull mom's social media and phone records.

Carlee is a spoiled child, it’s her parents that will foot the bill for the restitution. If she’s not giving jail time she will never learn her lesson. Also SHE needs to apologize and not through her attorney, her parents are to blame for raising a brat

Here we go again. Apologists, apologists, apologists. People besides black people do go to jail for false reporting. Plus unless someone reports a crime to the police falsely and is arrested it isn't officially false reporting. In other words it isn't the same when a certain woman starts bugging. Usually these things are cover-ups for more serious things or anything. Does Sherri Papini, Katie Sorenson, Cholie Stein and Patricia Ripley ring a bell? Sherri Papini tried to cover-up her infidelity by blaming hispanic women. Patricia Ripley who offed her child about 3 years ago and said they were taken by 2 black men. And Susan Smith who basically did the same thing, but it was 2 children. So this isn't new.

UNPOPULAR OPINION: we live in a cruel world. I have not seen ONE non-bias or non-judgmental post or comment about this young ladies story. I absolutely agree with @TheAlReynolds . From the very beginning, before she "admitted" it was a hoax people were questioning her and calling her a liar, and we had no idea what the POLICE said and did to her during their "investigation" .
Al does not have a clue. Her story was not credible from the start but if law enforcement stated that early-on, they would have been called racist. Law enforcement had access to her data early-on but tried to get the family to do the right thing. Only when law enforcement let them know they were going to prove the daughter was a liar did they lawyer-up and eventually admit their crime - via press release.

If only Al Reynolds would invest time reviewing the story in full, he would not make simple-minded comments (attempting to be thoughtful). Jussie got the initial weak sentence because Chicago DA Kim Fox (connections to his family) was coaching them on what to do. Attempts are underway to void the lighter unauthorized sentence and give him (Jussie) one more suitable to the crime.
