I remember watching the comedy central days of battlebots. So heart warming to see she still has her bots. I just want to give her a big hug and say thank you for making my childhood awesome.
I kinda miss the old arena. The new one is a bit too simple for my tastes.

The fact I used to sit down and eat dinner while watching Lisa compete back in the 90's is wild to me.
Its so cool to see the Tentomoushi army! It's such a memorable robot and its genuinely really great to see Lisa keeps them safe given how many robots from the classic days have since been lost to time (and scrapheaps) :)
Imagine you're a plumber opening that crawl space and being confronted by a group of conspiratorial-looking Mega Tentos staring at you like you're interrupting a plotting session

The whole crab thing was honestly really interesting, I never would have thought twice about that shell
it's so great to see all the Tentomushi's again and very clever fact on Mega Tento,Tentomushi was actually the first battlebot I ever saw since they appeared on Robot Wars and Baby Tento looks so cute
I can say one thing, that like in Robot Wars the judges are in a higher-up position to see more resulting in less cotesting with the judges. Also a bit safer for the judges. So, maybe if Battlebots put the judges in hi-hide like in Robot Wars it would be more advantagious.

for the first few seasons of the series the robot wars arena was pretty horribly unsafe, they pretty much just had 1 layer of cheap plexiglass between the visible people and the arena and all those metal walls were thin enough to be basically cosmetic (you could get a finger through them with a bit of working at it, let alone bot debris) and even worse they usually had crew going around behind them...come to think of it the floor in the judge and driver areas was probably weaker to flying debris than the windows.
they upgraded pretty massively at some point but I don't think they ever got the arena up to the same tolerances as the 2-layer-box design most other competitions use. weirdly enough I would honestly call this a + for the competition since limiting the kinetic energy of the weapons opened up the bot designs and budget requirements a lot.
edit: in short it started out as a tv set before they upgraded it into an actual bot arena

Do you know if Lisa and/or Mike winter have some other old Robots from the US Robot Wars and Early Battlebots days? Would love to know where X1 (and it's sequels), Holobot, Doughboy, and Spin Orbiting/Space Operations Force are today, if they still exist.
I believe Lisa still has Doughboy. Not sure about any other bots

Love Battlebots and your videos and interviews. But could you PLEASE give the people you interview a lapel mic. Could barely hear Lisa, so I crank it up then you speak or laugh and blow the cones out my speakers. Just a suggestion.

My first memory of Tentomushi was watching it compete in Robot Wars. I loved the robot and wanted to see it compete in more Robot Wars fights.
Not to mention when Tentoumushi was gobbling Shunt. 😅

Everytimes you are in a darker spot and Lisa looks roughly at the camera it looks as if she was a cat because her eyes are very reflective.

soooo...not actually a change to the rules but now the teams are allowed to insist they are actually enforced?
wait, no, not quite, no version I can remember reading mentions going over the video _every_ version of the rules I can remember reading even going back to the comedy central show specifically states that the judges are allowed to inspect the bots to inform on their decisions which makes the fact that I can not recall that ever once being shown actually happening on either show a bit weird (doesn't mean it never happened, just that they either never showed it or did a good enough job glossing over it that I don't remember).
hell, even friggin' robot wars showed that happening from time to time and it was _not_ in the rules that they tended to make a show of blatantly breaking (mostly the house robots had pretty specific guidelines in the rules that they would break in nearly every match, think pro wrestling nonsense but only some of the people in the event are handed a script).

I really hope the appeal thing don't get out of control. JD should be final and every single one had legitimate reasons for their choice of winner. I mean just because the fight was close doesn't mean the loser was stolen the win
If the teams lose an appeal, that is it for the season from the team, so probably won't get abused too much. Don't think it's a problem if it's a close match if the appeal gives the judges a chance to see the fight again and from other angles.
@@SlickGokuBaby I don't even like that either because what if rotator fought beta in his first match and lost the appeal, then not knowing that he may have another controversial JD like..... let's say for example the loss to valkyrie felt wrong. Then too bad, you screwed up. This rule shouldn't even exist at all because a team's biased opinion *SHOULD NEVER* influence a JD at all. A team is only gonna appeal if they themselves felt robbed, and of course they're always biased towards themselves. The judges score based on the rules and that's it, final, done, period. If people can't understand why a certain bot won a JD, 99% of the time it's because they are biased, missed parts of the fight or didn't read the rules. Me personally only 2 JD has ever boggled me, the last chance rumble and texas twister vs black dragon. Other than that I accepted every JD, even controversial ones like hydra vs tantrum (which should have never been controversial in the first place, it was just a close fight and was ruined because so many delusional hydra fanboys refuse to accept reality) and understood why the judges went with that decision according to the rules

Never really liked Lisa as a judge. But this showed a little bit of her as a person, made me change the opinions I had formed of her in my head. I wish the show could translate the judges' passion for robot combat more.
Such a detrimental force of the sport. Finally the judges will be held more responsible for their biased actions
