"Heres the thing", Israel is evil from 1948, broke every commandment to establish Israel, Bibi himself is on record in 1978 stating "There will NEVER be a Palestinian state", he has worked tirelessly to that effort, even funding Hamas, allowing Oct.7th to happen, killing their own people in the Hannibal doctrine, and finally, making up lies through Zak'a about beheaded babies and mass rapes to stir support for the mass murder of Gazans and the taking of still more land, land they say is theirs anyway thus justifying and endorsing the genocide being witnessed.
The story here is Israel, everyone already knew where Hamas sat.

13 Federal Judges have announced that they will refuse to use Columbia University students as clerks. That is a first step in the right direction.
BTW, I suspect that more federal judges feel this way but are not saying it publicly.
This is a real-life consequence that I think sends the right message.

Well, I'll certainly never hire a lawyer who graduated from Columbia again! There are some good law school graduates from there, but there's no way for me to tell the good ones from the bad ones. So, they're all tarred with the same antisemitic brush, in my mind.

In most states there is some sort of character and fitness committee, as the bar association does not want unethical people practicing law. With the drift of most bar associations to the left, I doubt that anything other than a felony conviction or a very serious misdemeanor conviction for dishonesty would present that much of a problem.

I live in Israel, but my daughter moved back to America to go to college. She's not attending any classes because she fears for her life.

How is a story like this not national news. It really gives context to what these protestors truly believe.
When I was a young reporter in San Francisco in the 1970s, I interviewed the head of the Bay Area Chapter of the National Lawyers Guild. Even when I was younger, more naive, and more in sympathy with the politics of the NLG than I am now, I realized that this organization was not out to right wrongs through the legal process (i.e., liberal). They were out to damage the American legal system through clogging the courts, cherry picking cases and clients that would be connecting a case to an issue and "connecting the issue to the larger picture ... vast and dramatic changes." (i.e., out and out radicals). Judging by their website, they haven't changed. "Truth" is not their goal, "victory" of their ideology is.
I, in my twenties, and former Bernie bro have only just realized this too since being forced to snap into reality aftwr October 7th. I was first beginning to grow disillusioned and skeptical with BLM seeming to me to be aligned more with Malcolm X rhetoric than Dr. King. Also, the hypocrisy of being against prejudice, stereotypes and generalizations except for when it comes to a certain race and ACAB. Tribalism and erosion of bipartisan values troubles me deeply.
When will we see the names and addresses of every member of the Columbia Law Guild - to keep us safe.
And this is a future of American judicial system. The highest degree of idiocy.

It’s very hard to be afraid of a group of people who haven’t got enough sense to go indoors and get a drink of water from the fountains or even sinks. And if they aren’t doing that they sure as heck aren’t gonna go to classes. But they still expect their credits to be handed to them so they can graduate and bitch about student debts and ask everyone else to pay for it.

Megan I’m not that attractive like you. I’m also not educated like those people at Columbia. I’m just a retired old man with a simple but long memory. I don’t ever recall the state of Israel or its people ever committing violent attacks on their neighbors without provocation. I don’t remember them taking hostages although they have taken prisoners. However those are very different actions in my simple mind. I also don’t remember Israel abusing those that they captured (rape, kill, torture, drag through the streets or hold them for ransom). I have not seen or heard of Israel people strapping bombs on themselves and going into other countries then exploding those bombs in public gatherings, crowded building, public buses etc killing themselves and anyone else who was unfortunate enough to be there. I have seen the Palestinian do exactly all of this almost from their inception. I’m really amazed at the restraint the Israeli government and their people exhibit when Palestinians or other Muslims from nearby countries commit terrorist attacks on Israelis. I don’t see retaliation or self defense in the same category as terrorism. I believe everyone has the right to self defense and that response should not be judged by individuals or country’s that didn’t suffer from those initial aggressive or murderous acts.
Well, the post office needs letter carriers and Wal-Mart is hiring. Wonder how they will feel when doors start slamming in their faces.

The three women speaking out here are the voices of reason and justice and I hope power now. They don’t agree on every issue but they are unanimous on this issue and they are right.
As a Columbia law student, I want to let everyone know that it was EXTREMELY clear (at least from my experience in the student group chat) that there was a "correct" opinion--police bad, protesters good.
I don't say anything in the group chats, but anyone who speaks up for the police are almost immediately mocked and/or called racists.
