I would like to ask if I could use your example of the swing air glitch from the Dino mine level, in a video I’m making. I would go and get the clip myself but I let my cousin borrow all of my PlayStation games a few years ago and we don’t now want happened to them. I could download an emulator but for a 10 second clip thats going in a Palworld glitch video it’s probably not worth the time to work the whole game. Of course I would give you credit for at the end of the video. If that is alright with you.
"...and we set the rockets off to blow up the statue."
Otherwise known as the loudest fucking noise a PSOne ever produced
Same with not realising that Year of the Dragon was only the third game, it was the only Spyro game I had for PS1. Which led to some confusion with the story prior to the game.
Kid-me had no context for why a cheetah was just hanging around a bunch of dragons like he belonged there, so I think I decided that Hunter was just adopted by the dragons. The only other confusion I got was Elora, since without the context of RR she just shows up out of nowhere for a brief moment at the end to flirt with Spyro (the Professor was easy to write off as one of the personalised NPC's the other playable characters got).
Hunter is weird. As time went on and more and more characters were introduced it became increasingly weird that he's one of the few 'animal people' in the series who doesn't wear cloths. Sorta makes it seem like he's a nudist in that universe and this remains true in the remakes of the PS1 trilogy.
My first Spyro game was Spyro 2 Riptos rage. I was given a PS1 when I was a kid since I had some sort of blood disease, so I had to sit still alot. So I remember me and my sisters had a blast with it. When the third one came out we just all agreed that it was the most fun one, in our opinion atleast. When the remaster came out, me and one of my sisters did a "lan" party so to speak and played trough the second and third game.
Spyro 2 was so good, there are still some lines from the characters that live in my head, rent free all these years later.
I remember we rented spyro 1 but number 2 was the first one we owned.
wholesome
That's because three is the best one.
Mine was heros tail for GameCube cuz my cousin had it 🥺🥺🥺
I hope you recovered from your disease.
I thought I was the only one who played the trilogy in reverse order! Spyro 1 always felt very weird to play for me after getting used to the last two games; especially the dash which feels way weaker and looser in 1.
I started on 2 and to this day haven’t been able to finish Spyro 1; it’s just too different it’s almost like it isn’t even in the same series (compared to 2 and 3 which are pretty similar vibes)
For me as a kid it was 2, then 3, then 1. I don't think I 100%'d any of them as a kid, but I finally got around to doing it for the whole trilogy when Reignited came out on PS4, and then did it again for the Steam version.
Mine was 3. Somehow I got max completion on it as a kid but it took me till my teen years to beat 1 and 2 at all.
2 always bored me because it felt half the levels were the same or not completed.
Yeah I did the same, my parents bought year of the dragon for my younger sister and that started me playing the rest
Awesome series!!! Not using even a single frame of gliding is incredible dedication and requires so many cool workarounds. Sounds like these take a lot of effort to make and they're all excellent
Spyro: Is a dragon, design looks built for flying, can't fly normally.
Sgt. Byrd: Is a penguin, can fly.
EDIT: 12:40 Well yeah, undead can't cross running water.
I think the whole thing with spyro is that he's a runt. His wings are underdeveloped.
@@329link I thought he was just too young to fly. Same with Flame and Ember in A Hero's Tail.
@@cass7448 I don't know anything past the first trilogy, but I think one of the dragons in spyro 1 specifically mentioned his wings being unusually small or something.
@@329link After the original Trilogy and 'A Hero's Tail' they released more games in another reboot trilogy ' The Legend of Spyro' and in the third title 'Dawn of the Dragon' he is older and there is a free-fly mode so it may have been more down to age I suppose
"In the Spectral Realm, water is as thin as air"
- a giant squid from a PS1 platforming videogame with a purple protagonist who has wigs but can only glide, wait what
I really admire your dedication to these vides
AND IT'S AN HOUR LONG!
I cant wait to see how this one turns out.
As soon as I saw the time I gasped a little
12:35 You're undead, you have wings and can't fly, and you fall through water like it's not there. You're actually playing Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver.
I missed the stream where you did cloud spires and I couldn't wrap my head around how you managed to beat it. I had no idea that glitch existed but I am glad it did. Well done Nathan.
I absolutely love your channel. Not just for nostalgia sake, but for the patience and skill you show on these classic games. Kudos to you sir. Please keep the content coming.
As always I am impressed by your ability to do all this, but especially your ability to read all the sub names! Bravo good sir!
Spyro 3 was my first video game (along with SpongeBob SquarePants: Super Sponge, which I received at the same time). It forever colored my gaming experience, and I still can't help but hold any game I've played since to the standard it set. The order I played the trilogy in was 3, 1, 2.
I’m having an absolute blast playing the remastered version and I love seeing the original. They really did it justice and kept it true to the original.
Such an underrated gem of a channel! I love your "can you beat series"
These type of challenge videos are so much more interesting than, "beat ____ game with ____ weapon".
huzzah!!! the trilogy is now complete! some of those tricks were wild to see pulled off, and im impressed you could get as much done as you did. also you have way more patience than me to pull off those proxies and have my eternal respect XD very glad i was able to be there for the majority of the streams~
started playing spyro again because of these videos. I've been seeing how i can break reignited and been having so much fun
Wow I thought for sure the fight against the 2 dragons would have been impossible, brilliant video!
5:26 convinced that NGPlus uses a magnifying glass to look at the frames when attempting these jumps
Best game in the series! Great video & such a fun channel
24:40 Even though I've 100 percent completed that level (My all-time favourite spyro level), I didn't even think of freezing rhynocs to get on higher areas. That is real neat!
I mean, completed in normal means with gliding and all of course.
I respect the wide array of glitches used to complete this challenge. It'd a nice spin on these types of videos.
Thank you so much for uploading this video I was really patient about waiting of this video be uploaded!! Yet thanks again for uploading it!!
Such a well edited/narrated video!! Quite inspiring to watch :)
After playing through the games dozens of times, watching Speedruns, glitch showcases and googling for skips hours on end, I'm honestly astonished how you manage to teach me a new trick with every video in this series.
I'm also really impressed that you managed to do all of these tricks, because some of them are very tricky (pun intended).
Spyro 2 was my first game ever, but Spyro 3 is my all-time favorite. Some of my best memories growing up are trying to play the games with my grandma helping me hold the controller, and I credit the series for making me want to be a game developer. When the Reignited trilogy came out, the games finally looked how I remembered them looking when I was a little kid.
Had no idea there was so many glitches in the game, surprised you were able to get 91% without gliding. Probably more than I got when I played it normally when I was younger.
11:55 Failing that glitch is where the Undead Dragon(s) in Dark Souls come from.
I remember doing the Frozen Altars proxy jump by accident once, and I've never been able to do it since!
Watching you complete all these levels on stream and then seeing it come together is really awesome. Great video!
Funnily enough my first spyro game was the first one but i had absolutely no idea the other 2 existed until a year-ish before the reignited trilogy was announced.
PS1 emulators usually give me a headache so i never bother trying to set it up to play games i never played before, so i never looked.
Reignited trilogy was my first time playing 2&3. And i absolutely adored Spyro in the first game as it was, easily one of my favorite mascot platformer/collectathon characters.
Fireworks Factory was the first thing that came to mind when I saw this video and I am so impressed how you did that, quality telly
you played the games backwards and now im watching your spyro videos backwards. what a whimsical coincidence :)
When I was really young I would play games but just kinda messing around with them. I remember a gliding tutorial for one of the spyro games and would try to make the jumps without gliding. Don't think I made but one or two jumps, but it's really cool watching you play the trilogy without gliding
Same, I played Spyro 3 first too and many years later the other two ones. Still as a child though and to this day I love playing through these three, even though I know them completely from memory.
I enjoyed every second of this video and I will definetly try some of these crazy glitches next time I play! :D
You want to do Enter the Dragonfly next?! Oof... may the dragon god bless you. 😅
Guys this was incredible. Your ingenuity and skills are top notch! Really loved this Spyro trilogy, can't wait for the next one!
I played the trilogy in reverse order too, as Year Of The Dragon came with my Ps One
Really love your videos. It's cool seeing all the unique and creative ways you use to get around the levels without gliding!
Fantastic video as always, played this recently and it was a joy.
Nice one!!!! So impressed ❤ was great to experience the streams with you playing it and the finished product!
Your runs are always so awesome. :) Thank you for them!
Huge thanks for this video, I was really looking forward to your content
WELL DONE 👏 ✔️ You are AMAZING for this 👏 I can't believe how you actually did this so thoroughly 👏
I keep getting amazed at your skill and dedication. Specially loved how you defeated the flying dragons.
I’ve been waiting for this episode since your first Spyro video!! It was well worth the wait ❤️
After how close the other 2 games were, it's cool to see this one's possible. Great videos!
The amount of proxies you used in dire moments feel like an anime character pulling another random upgrade out of their asses.
So much dedication! I hope this gets more recognition my friend
Been so hyped for this! Great stuff
Been waiting for this challenge! I love Spyro and these videos are so interesting.
I rly loved going on a nostalgic adventure with you and see things ive never thought about! Absolutely loved your Video!
pausing 10 seconds in because SHOUT OUT YEAR OF THE DRAGON!!! Also my first Spyro game, and one of my favorite games ever to this day. Absolutely love it to pieces
For the past 7 or 8 months I've been watching you grow as a channel and can't wait for this channel to blow up because more people should be able to watch these videos
I've been waiting for this video for so long!
My first Spyro game was also Year of the Dragon and naturally it is my favourite of the trilogy.
First Spyro game I ever played and it's by far my favourite, loved seeing you tackle this trilogy glideless!
Nice job with the video! Man I love these games and so happy with the Reignited version!
Thanks for the amazing content!
And thank YOU for the Super Thanks! We really appreciate it. We'd have thanked you sooner but for some reason they don't show up on mobile.
I completely missed this upload!!
Glad I checked your channel randomly to finish the trilogy.
these videos are so satisfying. congratulations 👏 on this achievement i can't imagine how many attempts the tricks took you. i wasn't expecting you to beat the game but you did and got a really high completion rate. the original Spyro games are special to me and to many so to see them played completely different was fun.
this was my like overwhelming memory of this era of gaming (along with hit and run) and i love it for its gameply and nostalgia thank you!
My first Spyro was the one with Cynder. That black pink dragon. I dont remember its name, but i remember that i hated the controlls. It was so hard to do the challenges from each dragon, to get the new powers, because the controlls where just keep failing and not registering.
Fantastic work as always looking forward to the other Spyros :)
Yeeeessss, this was my first and favorite Spyro. I've been anticipating this video ever since I saw the other two. This was a great series.
Just a random shout, I put off watching these videos because the thumbnails use the Reignited artwork, and as much as I love the remakes, I'm MUCH more interested in the mechanics of the originals. I'm super glad I clicked anyway after being recommended it on the 1st spot on the front page for so long, this is SUPER interesting stuff! I'm going to watch the other two now!
I was really young and had gotten a psx and two game disc bundles: one had crash 3, ctr, and crash bash, the other being the full classic spyro trilogy. I love all three and even have the reignited trilogy on switch
Great channel and theme going on atm all I can say is I see quick growth and this man's a genius and I ain't even talking about his games yet great game play man new sub 👏
Just gotta say the background/side bits are so well done, I really enjoy the subtle steam animation over the purple scales it’s so nice. The theming of them for each game is a detail I doubt everyone noticed but man do I enjoy them
Thank you, I feel they rarely ever get mentioned, but I hate wasted space. I try not to distract too much from the video though, so I keep it subtle 😁
Very cool video! Thoroughly enjoyed this and the other 2 Spyro vids.
My first and favorite spyro game was a hero's tail. At the time, my family had a ps2, with lego star wars, atv 2, star trek conquest and three ps1 games. A heros tail, in my opinion, is awesome.
10/10 work as always! I appreciate and respect the amount of effort that goes into these videos, and I hope it won't be long until many more people notice!
Every time you upload, i get a rush of excitement. Thank you for existing.
Absolutely monumental effort as always.
This is seriously god tier stuff ❤️ love all your stuff ❤️
This was also my first Spyro game, probably the first game I played by myself, since I was like 3
Love it! Keep it up!
well done on the video, did not relise there were that many glitches and exploits. Glad to see all that time and effort payed off.
These spyro challenge run videos you did are some of my favorite videos on youtube! Would love to see you do this with reignited, or the other spyro games!
Congratulation ! So fun to watch too
Amazing content!!!! Keep it up!
o m g... i literally had that bug at 2:35 or glitch when i was playing the game as a kid... i remember as if it was yesterday, i was so stoked about it and so sad that i lost it by going into a lvl... oh man this was a real nostalgia hit.
Fantastic as always!
Tremendous effort, well done.
This was incredible!
i love how this man says levels names
The only game of the original 3 that I actually beat and have the most knowledge in, so I'll actually be able to appreciate this video even more.
Ah cool, hope it meets expectations!
You madlad. I was waiting, I swore this entire video you would never enter the Super Bonus Round. And yet... you have a way in that follows the rules. God. Damn.
absolutely smashing
I grew up playing theae games, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Legend of Dragoon. I'm glad to see someone playing these games.
This was my first ever Spyro game as well. I played it a very young age, never touched or heard of any Spyro game afterwards. Then the Triology came and I heard about it and omg it's so nostalgic I love this game so much.
Funny side story: When playing Spyro Year of the Dragon I once raged and pressed all sort of buttons at random. Somehow I managed to open the settings menu and change the language to English. I was at an age where school didn't even start to teach us English yet. I was so frustrated, because I couldn't understand anything of the game anymore and I swore to continue the game after learning the essential English basics in school. Turns out before that could happen my family sold my console and games.
year of the dragon was also the first spyro game I played as a kid! i still have huge amounts of nostalgia for this game even after many more playthroughs. also I love that you not only beat the game, but got as close to 117% as possible! some of the proxies are ridiculous!
First thing you said just hit exactly home. When I was a child, I used to play Spyro 2 on a crt in my room, and when my parents got me Year of the dragon, I just assumed it was Spyro 1 and after playing it I was super confused because of the story and additionnal mechanics!
OMG! YAS IM NOT THE ONLY ONE! I also played the trilogy in reverse order as a kid and thought this was the first game for the longest time.
It's amazing how many little mechanics come together to make this possible. Calling it right now, 10 years from now somebody will figure out how to do this and open up the bonus level.
This is my favorite spyro game it was also my first introduction to the series I love your vids and am so glad you did this game!
I found the third game kind of lacking compared to the first two personally.
@@planescaped In every aspect you are probably right, but personally my brother played the third with me the most so it keeps a special place in my heart
best spyro video ive ever seen thank you
This was the first & remains the only spyro game I played. I went back to play the disc on my ps3 & fully complete it, because on ps2 my sister & I couldn’t save the game, so if we ever had to turn it off we lost all progress. We did get to the final like hub area & beat some levels. Going back to play it like 7 or 8 years later was super cool. I could actually understand the dialogue lol
This was posted on my bday awesome :D idk how i missed this
It was epic to see the process behind this live
