    I tried them in Norway. Didn’t know how to cook them, but just put them in boiling seawater for a minute, then remove the pot from heat. Let soak for 5 minutes, then take them out and enjoy! They were delicious-a little sweat

    Thank you. Where I live ( west Scotland) these are abundant and I now know that I can get free food. Nobody here eats them.

    In Hawaii we call them Opihi, they're a delicacy here. Either raw or on the grill with soy sauce and chili pepper water (vinegar, chili pepper, ginger, garlic)

      You will not stay hungry in UK. No body eats them and no body sells them. All coast covered by Opihi 🙂

    Ew, you didn't remove the black blister before earing?

    • @gulagga371
      @gulagga371  Před 2 lety +1

      I usually start eating them with it and start removing it halve way. Flavour is strong and not for everybody but it is safe to eat. Most of the shellfish you eat whole with no problem..

    Are they still killed as quickly when oven cooked? I don't want to put them through unnecessary pain if I don't have to. Thanks!

    • @gulagga371
      @gulagga371  Před 3 lety

      Preheated oven at about 220C should kill fast i suppose. I don't think they suffer more than oysters.

      HI, it is as per video really. Olive Oil, Oregano Lemon juice, Garlick, Balsamic vinegar. But the best way to cook them is in the frypan not the owen. Just put them muscle up in the pan on maximum heat. Than get the sauce evenly with the spoon while they cook. Finally cover with the lid and give another 2 minutes. Once they falling off the shell, they are ready.

      How do you cook them there?
      Not many people in UK ever tried them. I doubt English consider them to be edible at all :).

      Rodion Gulakov if not raw we grill it and put a little soy sauce and chili pepper water, it’s like spicy chili flavored salt water

      @@gulagga371 Be glad we don't consider them food, we're a small island - if everyone considered them edible there'd be no limpets left on the coast.

    What do they taste like?

    • @gulagga371
      @gulagga371  Před 3 lety +3

      Hard to say, muscle is like Whelks and the bubble at the back bit like brown meat in crab but stronger.
