    The A07 Pro is another great example of a Class D budget amp utilizing the TPA3255 chip that performs well and sounds great for the price. I did a quick tutorial on disassembly as well for those who are interested Op Amp swapping! I will be utilizing some Sparkos Op Amps soon but there are many great budget ones available as well if you want to experiment.

    What are your thoughts on the features these small amps offer? Any guesses what the next common ones will be? HDMI? Selectable crossover points for sub out? Coffee Machine? Please consider subscribing, working to get this to 10k so we can do a giveaway!

      All but one of my receivers has an unswitched and switched outlet on the back so I can plug in a DAC or tube buffer amp or remote volume control. I wish that feature could come back.

    Your reviews are always well thought out and measured with no hype. I would love to try one of these class D amps but right now my Marantz 2220b is sitting in the "bull pen" waiting to get in the game, so I just can't use one right now.

      Get that 2220b up to bat first, always time to play with some of these class D’s when the opportunity arises.

    My hope is the HDMI will become more common. I totally agree with your comments and what I always wonder is not the subjective flowery language, but "does it sound good", "Will I regret the upgrade cost for the new features", "if I give this to my son will he never use it in favor of his dollar store ear buds"?

    • @MattCoykendall1
      @MattCoykendall1  Před rokem +1

      If HDMI really does become common practice it will definitely be welcomed. I agree on the flowery descriptions as well, sometimes you need to take a step back on certain products, pull back on the language that appears so descriptive but in reality is very difficult to define and just let people know what they really need to know.

    Hello, this Aiyima A07 Pro is a good amplifier with excellent sound, it happens to me that connected by Bluetooth it gets hot but connected by cables it doesn't.

    The challenge with a remote - is the volume control would need to be motorized.
    I think that reviewing different op-amps (which would let folks know which sockets they have to upgrade). They look like only "regular" sized DIP8 packages would be practical? They look to be NE5532 chips - and *maybe* the Sparkos SS3602 would fit in U8? And I am unclear on why it has single ended to differential (balanced?) conversion? I am not sure how (this?) Class D design is set up.

    • @MattCoykendall1
      @MattCoykendall1  Před rokem +2

      Hey Neil, They are NE5532 chips, I have a pair of SS3602 here now but those are going into a BT20a pro for testing.

    • @NeilBlanchard
      @NeilBlanchard Před rokem +4

      @@MattCoykendall1 The other op-amps that are less expensive than the SS3602 that I would suggest are the OPA2134, and the Muses02.
      Edit: possibly the *best* value op-amp upgrade - is a clone of the OPA627 (a single SOIC op-amp chip) that is sold in a dual mono DIP8 module for about $8 *shipped*.

    • @MattCoykendall1
      @MattCoykendall1  Před rokem +1

      @mattburgess2 Před rokem +1

      @avan garde That's why yours is getting hot. You are maxing out the amplifier with that power bank. Other owners have talked about this with many of these class D mini amps. Not only creating the added heat but most likely shorten the life span of the little amplifier. Heat is the #1 killer of electronics.
      An idea if you want to keep using the bigger power supply is to maybe drill a few holes for air ventilation. Bottom, sides, top.. just an idea

      @@mattburgess2 I came here to search about just this. I bought Aiyiama A07 Pro with 48V power supply and is very hot even if I just let it on without sound. Now I will do this little holes as it is totally closed. I don't think it is a big deal, the difference between a semi oppened case and closed have to do a big jump in temperature.

    Really, but people will have complaints anyway no matter what.
    Like, I don't understand ppl complaining about tone controls.... just buy the non pro one for crying out loud lol.

    • @MattCoykendall1
      @MattCoykendall1  Před rokem +1

      There are always complaints, no matter the price or features, some just like to complain to complain. I am not sure on the 48v, they must find the supplied power supply to be the right price point for them while still getting decent power from it. They also may offer it as an upgrade because many people like to modify and customize so things like optional power supplies and Op Amps attract certain types.

      Yeh, the funny thing about the 48v is that Aiyima don't even sell one themselves, while they state the amp can crank upto 300W as on of the main sales point... with 48v 10A power supply...
      The good quality power supply with that spec can easily cost more than the amp itself though.

    I decided to dip my toe in the water a few weeks ago with a Fosi TB10D when the price dropped to $56.
    As a backstory, my son had bought me a Yamaha RS202 stereo receiver a few years ago as a replacement for my mid 90's Pioneer.
    The sound, though detailed, was rather anemic, with little to no bass, and only kinda came to life at higher volume.
    So then a few months ago I snagged a pair of Klipsch RP600's with hopes of getting something out of that Yamaha. But again, I was disappointed.
    So then, it was CZcams research time. I knew, or at least hoped, the Klipsch weren't that weak. At first, it was people reviewing a/b integrated amps, costing north of $500, regarded as being "budget." I almost bought a Cambridge axr100 even though I didn't want to spend that much. I am definitely not an audiophile, I just want to listen to music and have it sound good.
    Fortunately, I came across people giving praise to these little class D amps. Without much to lose and a filthy workshop I could always relegate it to, I bought the Fosi. With a $14 dac, my tv, and $56 Fosi amp, the Klipsch RP600's roared to life. I was blown away. I can't stop listening to them. There's so much more punch, bass, and power at higher volumes while still remaining composed, detailed, and just smooth sounding. Best of all, lower volume listening is infinitely better with the Fosi.
    Now I'm just waiting for them to combine the Fosi TB10D's TPA3255 chipset power with the Arylic B50 features (hdmi, Bluetooth, sub out)

    Mine has a weird issue, where it causes all my devices i connect it to, start lagging (screen gets slow on my pc / laptop, and do i connect it to my phone, the touch fucks up.) This issue disappears if i ground the amps chassis to something grounded however, such as the back of my pc case, or the grounding pins on the wall socket for example. But thats rediculous, and shouldnt be needed. SHAME ON AIYIMA. not gonna rma, bc it was bought from China, and im in Sweden. So just gonna sell it as defective and buy another one. I'm so mad over this.... and its really weird that noone else seems to have had / has, this issue.
