I couldn’t image Kobe doing this for two reasons: he had a military father and Kobe had to earn his respect in the NBA by improving his game. Lebron was given the face of league. Carmelo was the rookie of the year but he doesn’t have the award.
So yes, I can definitely see Lebron given his son what was given to him.

I was just about to ask you about the game on June 30th, but you ended the show. Taurasi’s Mercury vs Clark’s Fever is the only WNBA game that I’ve watched this season. I forgot to ask you if you watched the game because I brought up the date of the game on the show about a month ago and I wanted to get your thoughts about the game. Even Stephen A. Smith promoted the game on his podcast a day or two earlier. Maybe I can bring it up on the next Man Down Sports show. Clark almost had a 15-point triple-dub, but I think that she only shot 29% from the field….have mercy. But Clark got the first W vs Taurasi. Taurasi had 19 points shooting only 36% from the field while shooting only 20% from three and they probably guarded each other only once or twice off of transition(s). It was a close game, but it wasn’t quite the fireworks that I was expecting. Caitlin Clark was a turnover demon again aka a little female LeBron James again with those 6 horrible turnovers w/ the 15 points shooting only 29% from the field and only 20% with the 3-ball in 39 minutes of play. 😆🤦‍♂️ Honestly, I probably won’t watch another WNBA game for a while….at least not another Caitlin Clark game, but she’s really the only WNBA show that’s being pushed & promoted. 😞😅

1:31:51 Defense isn't dead. It's just locked up like Eddie Murphy & Martin Lawrence in the movie "Life". From time to time it breaks out but then gets lock up again when the Refs figure out what's going on. Some times the Refs will even turn a blind eye to let defense run wild, then put the hurt on defense and put it in solitary confinement then we don't see defense for a long time.
Defense has a hard knock life in todays NBA.

Mel, I previously left a comment expressing a similar sentiment about the issue of "Nepotism." As black people, we have often voiced our disapproval of others benefitting from nepotism. However, in this instance, when Bron fake tries to embody the motto "Nothing given, everything earned," he completely contradicts it. Hes' shown the reality that anyone, regardless of ethnicity, should not feel guilty for utilizing nepotism. From now on, it will be impossible for any minority to complain about nepotism. The code word to bypass criticisms for nepotism is "They earned it." Once an owner/head coach/manager says that, they can appoint their nephew, a third-string quarterback at a D3 school, as the starting quarterback with a multi-year guaranteed contract. We can no longer be upset. IMO, Wrong is wrong. However, Bron has clearly displayed fraudulent and selfish behavior, revealing the true nature of his career. Thank you, Bron, for ruining progress and destroying the integrity of the game.

Steph won two titles without KD. So, he's a 2-time champion as the number 1 option. Yeah. He wasn't "great" that first title run. He was still their first option & led the Warriors in scoring in the Finals from memory (without double-checking it). He was playing on a bad ankle. He played lights out for their 2nd ring without KD. I disagree they'd definitely break up that team if they lost the next year without KD. Look at the Celtics. How many disappointments did they have with Tatum & Brown? They melted down against the Warriors in the NBA Finals. Then they melted down against a low-seeded Heat in the ECF the following season. Did they clear house? Nope. They kept making smart moves to improve the roster around their core stars.

If I can catch your show live I would call in to discuss. I’ll just say this. The Warriors during the three years with KD had an .875 win percentage in 31 games that KD was injured and only Steph. In the 40 games that Steph was injured and only KD, they were only at a .575 win percentage team. In the 2018 Finals, Steph should’ve won the MVP. Their numbers were very close with Steph edging KD out. The most important thing you’re missing out on what made it work is that Steph unselfishly pulled back on his game to make sure KD played with freedom to be at his best. There is so much more to basketball than numbers. The fit is the most important part of making a team go! Steph’s ability to understand how to make a player like KD fit is amazingly underrated!!! In closing, the Warriors could’ve picked up a player like DeMar DeRozan in that free agency of 2016 and still won those rings without KD! Please stop pretending that you don’t understand that there isn’t a team in basketball that has ever won a championship without picking up a good free agent! That’s a big part of the game that makes a team a winner! BASKETBALL IS A TEAM SPORT!!! STOP THE NONSENSE OF SAYING ANY INDIVIDUAL WON A CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

Nepotism is when someone is hired without merit in front of others who would benefit the organisation.
It is not when the heir of an owner inherits the family business. The heir should have been prepared or smart enough to hire an excellent Executive to run the company.

They’re going to try to manufacture Bronny’s career just like they did with Lebron smh
This is what Lebron wants and this is what “they” want as well.
If you notice, this is pretty much the same thing that was done with Lebron when he first came in. Got a $100M contract without ever really earning it & without ever stepping a foot on an NBA court smh.
Lebron has always been a plant 🌱, and now Bronny is one too….
Lebron is really mentally ill because he can’t leave the limelight alone & he needs & craves attention so he will latch on to Bronny in order to syphon off whatever energy is thrown at Bronny’s way. Lebron is very insecure and doesn’t want to be forgotten.
This is all about Lebron & very very very little to do with Bronny smh. Lebron is an egomaniacal insecure puppet smh
And I hate to use this term, but he really is the anti-Jordan.

Either way, he will have a platform because of who he is. He will have an opportunity to make the world a better place. He just needs a completely different mindset than his father. 54:45 thanasis was drafted by the knicks because he, like bronny, had talent. What happened with thanasis was he didnt develope really anything. So he essentially failed the NBA, didnt earn his keep, No team wanted him. And was out of the league after like 3 years iirc. Then...3 or 4 years later(he was playing overseas i think during that time) giannis wants him to be on the bucks, so the bucks go get him. And now thanasis is back in the NBA. Giannis like bron dont have the power to hire their family. But they have the greatness to influence their team.

What happened with that young lakers squad that was just a tiny bit better than the detroit pistons were this year was Anthony Davis. But guess what? Bron plays with young guys all the time if they're good enough to get in the rotation. Most young guys just arent ready to compete at that level which is ok. Kyle kuzma and alex caruso were very important to our championship run. They were young guys that bron played with on the lakers.
Bronny isnt going to play big minutes unless his shot and defense are legit. Which is a possibility but there's a small chance for that. Bronny will most likely play garbage time.
